Finally got to put my hands on the system itself today at a Best Buy, but only for 45 seconds or so. The sticks feel REALLY weird to me. For importers, how long did it take you to get used to them?
I never liked the psp's circle pad, and now have some lingering fears about the sticks on the Vita....

That sucks. I'm still waiting for Amazon to receive my trade ins in the first place! I sent them off last Saturday, and it still says they haven't been received yet. I was hoping to use that money on Uncharted and some other stuff, but sadly, nope, as I'll be getting my Uncharted before they can credit my account.

I stumbled across IGN's November article last year saying Square-Enix is planning to bring FF Type-0 to the west. Haven't heard anything on it since. A PSN release for Vita looks like the most sense now. I did mention that I hoped it would come out for the PSP. Maybe not a UMD release but it'd be nice to be able to play Type-0 on the PSPGo as well.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 is, but here's hoping Sega localizes VC3 for PSN so we can play it on the Vita.
VC2 is pretty good. I personally don't like the school theme but it's still a really good strategy/RPG game.

The Disgaea games are all on sale as DD codes one gamestop.com right now.
Also pick up the Remake of Lunar. It's only $15 as well.
I second the Legend of Hero's suggestion.
The persona games are still selling for $40. Skip them until the prices are reduced to a more reasonable level.
Oh wow... Do you know if the Disgaea codes also work on the Canadian store ?
I'm in Canada unfortunately... If they do, I'll definitely get them.

I always wanted to play this but never got around to it. I've been buying a lot of PSP games to play on the Vita. I never expected the Vita to have so much content @ launch. I'll already have quite a backlog when my unit gets here on Wed..

Definitely one of the best JRPGs on the PSP that's on PSN.
Too bad Crisis Core or Kingdom Hearts isn't on PSN. Hopefully Square-Enix puts them on PSN to give these games another chance with Vita.

Just played a Vita at my local gamestop.
The hardware is awesome.
The sticks feel great and are accurate. I think the resistance is perfect and I never felt like I was going to slip off of them. Great first impressions on the sticks. D-PAD and face buttons are small but didnt get in my way nor was I confused on where I was with the controls. The buttons and D-PAD were 1000% better than the psp's.
The shoulder buttons... well I dont think there was enough feedback from the hardware as to whether I had engaged them successfully.
The back pad is going to take some getting used to due to how I used to hold the psp. I think I will get used to it but I am still playing around with it to find out the perfect positioning.
The screen is straight up sexy no other words for it. Just beautiful.
Overall I would give the hardware an "A"
Games:
Virtua Tennis is well tennis and it is gorgeous. I have never owned a tennis game but I am thinking about getting it because it reminds me of what I like about handheld games: short stints during commercials!
Fifa was awesome. I have also never owned a soccer game but this game is gorgeous on the screen. Accurate animations and the "touch the back pad to shoot where you want" is incredibly intuitive and justifies the existance of the back pad. Looking to get this if FIFA 13 isnt scheduled for a while (when do they usually release?)
Gravity Daze is gorgeous and looks innovative. Will pick up when it comes out.
Uncharted has some very noticable technical issues. Resolution being the worst absolute worst offender. You can tell immediately and the impression is lasting. The fire and aliasing is noticible and destracting. For a portable system the aliasing and fire are acceptable but I am disappointed in the non native resolution as it muddies the entire game up. However, when the game is panned out it can be hard to tell the difference between the PS3 versions. All in all it is impressive for a launch title but not nearly as impressive as some others.
Hot Shots Golf- Ok so I am buying a Vita specifically for this game but the resolution is shockingly bad. It is incredibly disappointing to have such a gorgeous screen and not have this particular game in native resolution. The gameplay is great and I am of course buying it but it has some vary noticible technical issues. Especially for a damn golf game.
WipEout is gorgeous and the controls are perfect. Day -8 for me. Fuck this game is gorgeous. Did I say this game was gorgeous? Oh and the game is awesome. That is all.
When I say that it is incredibly noticible what resolution the games are I mean it. I am not all that picky about the technical aspects of the game but when it is noticible it is bad.
I fully expect an NHL 12 to be on this bad boy and I fully expect to love it. Oh and PacMan CE DX.
System is awesome and I really hope it does well.

FIFA 12 came out this past fall. I'm pretty sure that's when it always comes out, but Im not a football expert. Glad to hear you liked it though, it's coming to me via amazon.
I hope NHL 12 is on here, but they didnt port them to the psp. But I believe hockey game sales have been on the rise - so fingers crossed.

Sight, so many choices. I've been looking at Trails in the Sky videos and the story / characters seems great, and the combat fun. I'm only skeptical of the graphics (yes, I'm a self proclaimed graphics whore).

Trails in the Sky is a decent game, but I can't recommend it. It's the first game in a trilogy and it doesn't look like we're going to get the next two games.
I'm not too fond of the visuals myself but I find its a minor gripe. If you are looking for a beautiful 2D game, though, Grand Knights History is the way to go. I also like the 2D art in Sting's games (KitN and Gungnir).
