Soon-to-be Vita owner who's never owned a PSP here.

Question RE: dissidia 012. If i've never played either dissidia game, is this the only one i truly need to buy? I heard you "unlock" the entire first game when you complete it. Would I be missing out on anything if I only purchased dissidia 012?

I have another question that might already been answered. Please bare with me.
Has anyone confirmed if DLC for a physical copy of a game works when playing the game on an account of a different region?
Example: Physical Gravity Daze JPN + DLC JPN PSN playing in a PS Vita with US PSN account.

Doesn't work.

Is there any reason to get Gods Eater Burst over Monster Hunter? I haven't played either but I'm making a list of PSP games to download and may go for one of them.

Yep. God Eater is much easier than Monster Hunter. I find its better for a single player experience. Also, I prefer the aesthetics and love the soundtrack in God Eater.

No, because its a prequel and you do unlock the sequel.

I'm gonna have an 8gb memory stick that I'm gonna be selling. Probably 20-25 based upon demand, (cost of shipping is included).

If anyone is interested pm me. I'll have it on the 22nd and can ship it out that day most likely. I do a lot of trades in the buy/sell/trade thread in the community, and have been around for a good amount of time.

I hate you GAF, PS Vita ordered + 32GB MC :p
I plan to buy Escape Plan and... I'll wait for other games.

I haven't really been a PSP fan (even if I bought 3 lol) but I think I could have more fun with the PS Vita since there is new gameplay mechanics possible so Escape Plan is perfect for a start I guess then maybe Gravity Rush?

Oh and a new Patapon and a new LocoRoco would be nice, there's no doubt about that.

Anyone actually get Dynasty Warriors?

I wish there were some actual impressions on the game or something. Is it just a port of 7 or what?

I added a dozen of launch apps to the OP. Do people really use social media apps for gaming devices?

Technically not a social app but I'm really disappointed there isn't an MLB.TV app for the Vita. Mets games would look so good on that OLED screen, besides the fact the Mets are playing.

Do we have any idea what launch titles, if any, use online passes?

I starting to place my game orders now, and I'm wondering which titles can actually be imported.

Btw, if anyone is still on the fence, Amazon.de extended their pre-order deal of Vita + 8GB + 15EUR off for selected games to 20.02. Previously the deal was expiring on 14.02. I guess other Amazon websites will follow if they haven't already.

Still a few more days to decide.

Checked out some videos of GEB and I prefer its aesthetics too. I'm also tackling these games alone so I'm definitely leaning towards the ones that offer a better single player experience. Thanks.

This was actually another question of mine, so thanks again! This is going to be an insane lost for those of us who are new to Sony's portable systems.

Well, seeing that they sold out completely in Japan and they're not even available in Europe, I think there is a decent risk of them being difficult to find in North America.

I wish the PSVita supported enterprise WiFi (the ones that require a username and password) :(

My school's WiFi is blazing fast but the LAN connection is horrid (two different providers) so downloading games from my PS3 will be a chore :(

Trails in the Sky is a decent game, but I can't recommend it. It's the first game in a trilogy and it doesn't look like we're going to get the next two games.

Only 2nd is really needed to complete the story, third game is more like extra stuff.

Trails in the Sky my favorite handheld RPG of this generation, it was like everything I loved about PS1 RPGs in terms of charm, but with modernized saving/retrying/etc to prevent frustration.

Bah, Gamestop where I had a bunch of trade in credit is out of first edition bundle pre-orders, so I guess I'm sticking with the wifi. Ended up paying of;

PS Vita Wifi
Wipeout
Touch My Katamari

And paid off most of UMVC3.

Same here, except my school recently got rid of LAN. Oh well, I guess I found a use for 3G on the system. :/

Whoa what? What's this online pass talk and what does it have to do with importing? I've been trying to follow Vita news but this I haven't heard of yet.

So, I went into GAME two weeks ago and tried out the Vita. The staff member was pretty cool, just gave me the console, knew that I knew what I was talking about and just let me play on it for ages. Put down £10 straight away.

Today, I took a mate (and employee of mine) to Gamestation to try out the console, as he was interested in just giving it a go...

...holy fucking shit. We were fucking hounded. Given about three seconds to actually play on it, told a tonne of stuff we already knew, and had to practically beg to leave without putting a pre-order down. Some things we were told:

- WE ONLY HAVE THREE CONSOLES LEFT AVAILABLE!! WE HAVE DONE TWO PRESALES SO FAR TODAY, IF YOU DONT GET THIS ONE, YOU WONT GET ONE!!

answer: fucking bullshit. I work as a retail manager, and I know for a fact that there's no limits. We have until wednesday, and then whatever we have preordered, Sony sends us. Same for Game/Gamestation. Bit of a blatant lie.

- MONSTER HUNTER VITA IS ALREADY OUT IN JAPAN WILL BE OVER HERE SOON!!!

answer: no, it fucking isn't. Bet the guy doesn't even know what moonster hunter is.

IT'S MORE POWERFUL THAN THE PS3!

answer: fuck off.

Either way, that guy absolutely killed any intention of pre-ordering my mate had from there.

I'm looking forward to buying daxter and playing that. I played it a long time ago when psp slim first came out and I loved it but sold the psp before I finished it. I would recommend the game to others too that are looking for psp games to play on vita.

Does anyone know now Gran Turismo PSP looks/plays on the Vita?

I don't really want to plop down $20 for the digital download after just trading in the UMD unless it looks and plays really well. That game can be frustrating enough without losing control. Part of what I'm hoping for there is also a somewhat noticeable upgrade visually.

Yeah, this is a very familiar experience.

I had a member of staff in my local GAME straight up lie to me about Media Go being Mac compatible when I bought a PSP Go. Funny thing is he had already closed the sale. Claimed he was using it fine.

Does anyone know how to turn off friend sign in notifications? I can't find it anywhere and it's clogging up my messages thingy at the top right.

Also, kind of dumb. Friend requests get sent to both my Vita and PS3. I accepted a request on my Vita, but the request was still active on my PS3 and I had to go delete it from there.

By the way, in case no one posted it yet....
Vistited my manager friend at Gamestop today after work again. She had let someone open the FEB in store that they'd pre-ordered. We wanted to know if the Little Deviants was a regular retail copy, just the card, or was labeled not for resale. It's a straight out retail copy with a standard barcode. She'll let it be swapped for something of equal value.

The 4GB memory card was in the standard card packaging, but the barcode was blacked out. It won't scan, but, she is going to be cool enough to swap that out toward a purchase at normal value as well.

I guess I won't be stuck with Little Deviants, and a 4GB card after all, and won't have to worry about only getting $20 as trade-in credit either.

Funn thing is - salesmanship is actually a very valuable skill, not many people can pull this off. Most people just think of it in a very negative way, and hire others with no skills or attitude. Then you get trolls like the guy in the store, and a sale is lost.

This has to be a YMMV thing.

That's awesome if it's Gamestop policy with the FEB...
