There isn't much crime were I live, but what worries me is that those shady magazine salesman have been trolling my neighborhood the last few days. I wouldn't put anything past those poor kids.

You may even be able to contact UPS to have them hold it and just pick it up at their distribution center. I've never tried, but that seems like something they would offer. Though maybe it's too logical so they probably don't.

That's it, my launch lineup is complete! No more flip-flopping!

System:
PlayStation Vita 3G/WiFi Launch Bundle - $256.79

Games:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss - $34.99
WipEout 2048 - $29.99
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - $29.99
Touch My Katamari - $29.96
Patapon/LocoRoco Pack - $14.99
Power Stone Collection - $9.99 *
LittleBigPlanet - FREE via Welcome Back Program
ModNation Racers PSP - FREE via Welcome Back Program
Killzone: Liberation - FREE via Welcome Back Program **
Pursuit Force - FREE via Welcome Back Program **

Protection:
PDP PSVita Pull 'N Go Folio - $29.99

Total: $436.69

* Hopefully the Power Stone Collection is compatible at launch. Officially or not.
** These games are on a separate account, so I guess that means I'll need to restore to play them?

Apparently PSP games bought and downloaded through Media Go aren't recognized by Content Manager so they'd need to be re-downloaded later. The current workaround is to use a PS3 if you have one.

Wait, what?
Literally 3 seconds before I read this, I bought MOHU FU via Media Go on my laptop for £7.99.
My intention is to go to my download history on my wifi Vita and download it from there, is that possible? I dont own a PS3.

If you have the cash, I'd just get it. The wait after everyone's already received their FEBs will probably be much harder.

I have the cash. Stop making sense. You're gonna make me pull the trigger on this damnit!

No convincing needed. The second I saw it I put money on it. I wanted everything in it.

What about it don't you want? 3G? Little Deviants? The small card?

There's nothing that I *don't* want. It's just I'd be saving $50 bucks and getting a bigger memory stick for free if I wait a week. Oh Sony, why didn't you just push both releases up a week.

The 3G is the only thing about it you can't sell. If you don't want the 4gb card, throw it up on amazon for $15 with $4.50 shipping. If you don't want Little Deviants sell that for $28ish. Once you subtract whatever you don't want, it won't come out exactly even with a wifi, but it will be close, you'll have a nice case and have it a week earlier.

Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Come to the dark side. You know you wanna.......

you should be fine to do what you expect - but , as per US, some games aren't showing up as downloadable under Vita even though they work.

Man, I have the money, but I'm so stupid pissed about how Sony and others are handling the launch.

Amazon has that promo, but it's 3G only. The FEB.. again 3G. I don't want the 3G model, have no need for it, and could care less. Only place I'm going to play the thing online is where I have wi-fi.

..but you actually save money pre-ordering the 3G from Amazon.. and there's no bonus for the Wi-Fi.

Thus, no freaking pre-order from me... I'll wait for the eventual GC discounts.

So what's the problem?

Anyone know if Costco will be selling the Vita? It was on their website a few months ago being advertised that it was coming soon, but got pulled since then. I tried to ask at my local store but the person I asked had not idea what a Vita was.

I hope they do because I would rather buy it there then any other place due to their amazing return/warranty policy.

LittleBigPlanet - FREE via Welcome Back Program
ModNation Racers PSP - FREE via Welcome Back Program
Killzone: Liberation - FREE via Welcome Back Program **
Pursuit Force - FREE via Welcome Back Program **

Your post just reminded me that I never claimed my two free PSP games via the Welcome Back program. :(

Here's what my final list looks like:
System:
Playstation Vita Wi-Fi - $249.99

Games:
WipEout 2048 - $29.99
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - $29.99
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 - $39.99
Lumines: Electronic Symphony - $37.99
Dynasty Warriors Next - $39.99

Accessories:
Playstation Vita Starter Kit w/Memory Card - $39.99
Playstation Vita Cradle - $19.99

Sub Total: $487.92
Amazon Gift Card: $351
Grand Total: $136.92

I don't see myself using 3G at all and I expect the memory card prices to drop in the next year or so. I'm not buying digital unless it's exclusively such and I'll use the memory card strictly for save games. 4GB should last me a long time until I need to splurge for a larger capacity one.

So what's the problem?

That there's a deal on the 3G model, but nothing on the Wi-Fi. I know they are trying to move the wi-fi to get kickbacks from AT&T.. but still.. it's lame.

Kick me a free game with the Wi-Fi model and I'm sold.

Guess I will just have to wait and see on the 22nd.
Noticed earlier on though that people are saying really high prices for MOHU FU.
On the european PSN its only £7.99, why is it so much for everyone else?

Quoting onlyindreams again:
If anyone wants to go through a little effort, Lockerz has some really awesome deals on Vita stuff. 3G Launch bundle for $239, Hot Shots/Modnation/LittleDeviants for $21, 32GB Memory for $75, Uncharted for $35 etc.

http://shop.lockerz.com/electronics/playstation-vita.html

I've found that the best way to grind up points for the discounts is to watch "Behind The Seams" videos in the video section (and ignore/mute them while they play b/c theyre horrible) for 300 points and you can get points to apply quickly/easily.

I picked up HSG. Debating on a couple more...

I know you won't use 3G, I won't either, but this bundle comes with everything the FEB does minus Little Deviants and the case. Not sure if they ship internationally.

I think you can still claim them. You have to look under account management or something on your PS3 (if you have one). I checked around a month ago and I could still claim a free PS3 game or two but didn't because I had already done so on other accounts.

Jesus guys, how is an expensive TV campaign going to work before launch? At the moment, vita is not marketed at Joe Public, but at hardcore gamers. These gamers read websites, watch vids and know vita is coming from E3. Getting a vita in every game store also means that most hardcore gamers would have seen the device if they've been to a store, which is more than likely. I think the marketing for it has been OK for who they are targeting. Hardcore gamers aren't swayed by a tv campaign. After the system launches they have a tv campaign ready to go (according to the blog) and will then target everyday users. Initial units in stock go to those who really want the device, followup shipments go to Mr and Mrs Public. But before launch, you target the early adopters and that isn't usually with tv ads.

Well fuck it, I'm buying Lumines Electronic Symphony. My girlfriend is some sort of uncultured troglodyte who has never seen Lumines before so I dug up my PSP version and let her play a round. I was immediately hooked back in while watching her play. Game is so fucking good. Still had my old save with a couple of maxed out scores on it.

i really it wish had a more reasonable price though, 30 would have been great.

I was wondering, is there any negative side of 3G edition over wifi edition other than the extra $50 price?

Like if its heavier or battery lasts shorter(even with 3G off) or stuff like that?

Is there a different firmwares for wifi edition and 3g/wifi edition?

It does weigh more but I don't believe it's a noticeable difference.

It's not like SCEA can put up a decent ad either. Sony's shitty marketing is easily their biggest weakness.

Isn't SCEE the one who bought ad time during a soccer game to display a short film in advertisement of PS3 but the film itself had absolutely nothing to do with PS3?

If it really isn't the full ad, than it could still be good. I was just wtf-ed at how abruptly it stops.

I get the point and it seems well executed.

Sony needs to go back to their PS2-era marketing department. They had some very memorable ads with great messages, which set a perfect tone for the brand.. quite unique.

They used to collaborate with David Lynch too.. great stuff.

I did exactly that for MHFU, works fine.

The Welcome Back PSP games were in my download history even though I never claimed them. Downloaded Killzone the other day. Try it out.

Just got my first Vita game today. Hot Shots Golf! The boxes are so cute!

I've seen the comparison shots but they look so tiny on their own.

6 seconds really is very short. I'm not sure what they could really do with that setup to make the ad longer though.

Same message as the Mental Wealth ad I linked to. Girl is getting her nails done, but she also has a second life where she is a professional boxer.. all thanks to Vita!

If I was on Weekend Confirmed I would drop the word dichotomy.

so any reviews/thoughts for ridge racer? it looks great but i know it lacks content but im going to temped to get it when it goes down in price
