Mass Effect 3 Demo Impressions [Online Open To All]

Bleh, just my luck that the box is saying "Assigned to another console" when using the queue system. Horay. Guess I'll wait for the box to show up on the Xbox dash demo list.

Thanks for the link though. It appears to work.

You should just be able to click on it to download on your console.

Will us European PSN'ers get the demo today...? Considering Wednesday is when they usually update with new content.

May have to dig out my old US account if not. :P

I'm getting errors trying to connect online on xbox live? Are the servers still offline or something?

Just played in the 360. AMAZING. The demo probably has more epic moments than the whole ME2 plot. Can't wait to the release date. Later I'll try out the multi demo, I'm kinda curious to see what they've done.

PSN is still on Grace Chen Time right? I already played the demo last week on 360, but I'll be playing multiplayer & the actual game on PS3.

Played multiplayer last night. I was really surprised by the amount of customization. Sad that I couldn't choose my race, really wanted to play a Krogan. Had my fun playing as an Infiltrator. For awhile it was just me and this level 13 vanguard player who left me convinced he didn't need my help as he was just all over the place because of the charge. Eventually a level 1 soldier joined and the three of us did pretty okay. The objectives were a lot more fun to do than the waves that had us just killing everything in sight.

It felt pretty awesome when we all moved as a squad towards objectives and such, usually with my allies moving forward while I was watching our rear. It was a little difficult at first control wise because I didn't know how to change my weapon until ten minutes in, and didn't know there were ammo crates scattered around the map (though this made me really good at melee'ing people).

At the end of the match I was level 5 and got a large amount of credits which I used in the in-game store to buy 'packs' which give you random weapons, customization options and characters apparently.

I really can't wait to play more when I get home tonight, and get some friends in on this. The ones who happen to own BF3 for now, anyway.

Only played single player so far.

Reminds me of ME2. Not a bad thing, but I'm not blown away. I can't really get into the game in demo form anyhow.

Voice commands are fun though.

Sure you are. That child's entire existence is to pull at your heart strings. That's blatant emotional manipulation.

I'm struggling to see how that is a negative thing. My mind is reacting to what it's seeing, and it's painfully obvious it's there for emotional effect. My mind is saying "Aw, that is sad".

That is the entire point of it...why is that bad? If it was Anderson there who died instead, it'd be the same thing. A scene with Anderson dying or another squadmate would exist to "pull at your heart strings".

lobbys are so janky right now, it will keep saying waiting for player when all of us are ready, and in the last 10 minutes all 3 lobbies have been the same with problems :/

Host left again, kicked to menu, you don't even get to keep any exp.

The online in this game is wank, sorry.

Quick questions about the mp:

1. Are the levels persistent and character progression persistent or reset after each play session?

2. If they are persistent, whats the level cap?

I might have been that level one, but I'm not sure.
Whether it was me or not, I also had a hard time figuring out how to change weapons. I kept trying to bring up a weapons wheel but got nothing.

Hold X to change weapons.

Does the wheel work in the MP at all? The controls are really weird. I played 4 or 5 matches and still getting used to it.

Doesn't seem like it, for soldier at least. As you level up, your powers are assigned to buttons.

Is there going to be a way to install the PC demo without having origin? If the answer involves piracy please don't respond to this, I'm just wondering if its possible to grab the exe and game files and play it :P

I would be playing online on my 360, just wanted to try the PC demo without having that crap installed on my PC. Doesn't seem like its possible after reading a little :(

after 5 years controlling Sheperd still feels GRAW-like.

Why am I the only being in the universe that can't climb up things without going into cover?

Double tap A to leap without going into cover, double tap A while running into cover(or just tap A as soon as the getting into cover animation stArts)to slide over it and keep running.
