Didn't Neville announce that a few months ago? Latest reports suggest the club don't want it to happen and are trying to block it.

The club quote was "wish Gary all the best", which sounds like a sort of reticent, just-supportive-enough-to-not-be-impolite pat on the back.

I suppose there might be some curious way in which they think this would divert potentially exploited revenue.

Song is a good player when he sits in front of the back four and protects them but right now he seems to have a free role in the team and runs forward.

I know he has quite a few assists this season so he does produce when he goes forward but he should really concentrate on not letting goals go in rather than trying to create them, leave it to Ramsey and Arteta.

Yurt, tell me how amazingly full of shit Tuttosport are.

Super Tom.

Didn't want to say it for fear of being pilloried, but I thought he had a decent game yesterday all things considered. Very tidy and some nice creative flourishes. Not bad for 4 months off. Only thing that didn't quite happen for him was his movement. He wasn't as smart about finding space as he should be, darted forwards perhaps a bit too often.

I'd expect him to play in the return and in the league game (Norwich, is it ?) after that.

Not a full game in both, but Ferguson will definitely want him to get time under his belt. I hope. I'll be mildly surprised if Pog doesn't get a run a) against Ajax if we control, say, the first half b) if we crunch Norwich.

Nani is really going to have to kick on. That wasted blaze over from about four yards was ridiculous. I'm confident he can do it, but Tony V being out for a little while - I'd say four weeks would be the maximum - and Young being dopey makes it urgent.

He's a great midfielder though. Wins the ball well, can put in great passes, makes good runs. I think Wenger's judgement on him has been wrong just like he's been wrong with playing Walcott (how has he not just converted him to a striker yet?) on the wing...(learn to cross)

I'd put money on Hiddink failing.

After his Turkey disaster, I'm surprised Hiddink is still so highly rated.

Anyways, I guess this shores up AVB's job until the end of the season, no way will Chelsea pay to fire another manager and then pay whatever it would cost to get Hiddink out of his expensive contract. Unless they went for Capello, who i doubt would want another job in England, there are very few options.

lol, the comically tipsy font just oozes authoritativeness.

Portsmouth have entered administration, btw. Docked ten points.

Mandaric stunned, justifiably, by people supposing that he would put his cock in the flames and bail out Rangers.

TalkSport are saying that Van Der Vaart is still struggling with his calf and could miss the Arsenal and United games. If there's one player who has to be first on the team sheet for the NLD, it's him, 4 goals and 1 assist in 3 matches against Arsenal. Please be fit...

It's only 5 million to sack AVB. Which is a much easier decision than the previous ones.

I didn't mean that, what I meant was that both paying out AVB and buying out Hiddink would be too much money and with Hiddink being the only realistic option to replace AVB it thus makes Villas-Boas's position more secure.

Something has to give, though. Numpty players can't be slagging him off in front of

a) youngsters
b) the boss

Yurt, sorry I didn't jump in earlier when the Serie A bashing was going on. Some of the EPL apologists are just downright comical. When are people going to learn that these things happen in cycles? Serie A is on the rise again after being in decline and some people just can't handle it.

Awesome, we took the shirt sponsors from our rivals and are going to have Adidas from next season, biggest shirt sponsorship in Danish football history and no doubt prettier shirts than the shit Kappa has given us.

Also our right winger got banned from Costa Ricas national team for 8 months because he didn't travel there while injured, fucking idiots, especially since they are now making the two other Costa Rican players in our squad unhappy with the national team, hopefully they will just say "fuck it" and stop travelling around the world to play football, fucking international football.

Nah, there was no bashing here!

There is an unsubstantiated rumour on Arseblog that says Wenger is ill (has some form of cancer) and will step down - reason why he didn't spend anything in January.

I hope thats not true.

Fuck me hope thats not true, that last bit makes it seem fake.

Emmanuel Eboue @TheRealEboue
If Theo wants to Run, Let him go and run on the TreadMill... He hasnt paid back the investement wenger made in him. Am ashamed. sorry Theo

Truth.

Eboue is like a proper Shakespearean fool.

I've been looking at highlights of Lazio - Atletico match, and Falcao's movement inside the box is ridiculously good. He's the best old school 9.

Wow, Eboue slinging out truths over twitter. I love how he apologizes Walcott after massively insulting him.

Can't really argue with most of his points, few of them made me laugh, love the one about artetas hair

But he really can't talk, he wasn't the greatest player at arsenal, far from it. He a clown at times

Eden Hazard Specials Club After Summer Transfer Window Betting Odds

There are some amusing bets here: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials

Out of that list, the only realistic prospects probably are Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs (now). He's always made it clear he'd prefer a French-speaking work environment. I think it will come down to CL participation and wages of course.

He probably had his heart set on Arsenal or Chelsea but both teams are playing like crap now, not great perspectives for a young player. It's not as if he could carry big clubs like that.

But yeah him and his agent are running their mouth way too much, he's pretty much overhyped at this point, even more than Lukaku was. I don't understand why clubs wouldn't go for Kagawa or Götze instead, they are young too and on a completely different level right now.

On another note someone needs to bring Honda to the EPL before he gets too old, can't believe he's still stuck at CSKA, he's a low risk transfer at this point.

Pompey back in administration. Chances are they won't come back out this time and assets will be stripped fully to pay creditors including their previous owners and HMRC. It is likely that they will be wound up. I feel sorry for the fans and this is another failure by the FA for not vetting owners properly and ensuring that football clubs run proper business models. I fear for Chelsea and City if their owners decide they have had enough and sell up.

Honda was going to Lazio in January and that'll definitely happen if they finish top 3 (which they might actually do given that Intermerda are predictably doing terrible). If that doesn't happen, then either EPL or probably a non-Real/Barca Spanish squad. I could see him doing really well at Porto, though.

As for Hazard, I don't think he's the type of player for Conte so I'd be surprised if we see him at Juventus. Conte obviously likes industrious players who can get back in defend and as far as I can tell Hazard isn't that. But, on the other hand, with money from Krasic then I think Marotta would make that deal easily.

Yeah, with each case like this the FA's "fit and proper persons test" is further exposed as a sham - I feel really bad for the Pompy fans, but also grateful that we (West Ham) narrowly managed to escape thanks to Gold & Sullivan, as we could easily have been in a similar state.

I wonder what Chelsea would have been like had Hiddink come back instead. Good luck to him in his new coaching job.
Much the same, perhaps marginally better. The alleged trouble makers would be slightly happier and perhaps cheer up and actually play. But you can't polish a turd, and right now, that's what we are.
