If its just a port will people really double dip for the same experience again plus splitting their multiplayer investment?
Personnaly, I don't see PS3/360 players massively buy the Vita version, especially without 3G. Of course, it's just my opinion, but when you play online, you have to be connected with wi-fi. So you have to be at home (where you already have a bigger screen, allowing you better view and better controls) or in a public place, where you can't play online like at home, I mean, communicate with teamates, or keep concentrated.

But of course, it's a Call of Duty game, it could sell easily 1M or 2M. But I don't see it like a console seller, or selling like the console versions.
Since when do you have to be at home to use WiFi? Free public Wifi is pretty common and most people have WiFi access during their downtime at work or school.
That would be terrible design on their behalf though. The game should compliment it's console counterpart. Single user account over the two, do a couple of games at lunch that benefit you when you're home etc.If its just a port will people really double dip for the same experience again plus splitting their multiplayer investment?
CoD sells 20M+ per year. It's the biggest franchise right now
And no franchise has even been close to pulling these numbers.

COD on Vita/Wii U will be interesting to see, control wise. Since they both don't have clicky sticks. No, nor R2/L2, but the back pad can be split in four for those things.

If it's a port the multiplayer experience gathered could be shared across both Vita and PS3.
not with Treyarch's netcode
Ha ha ha! Oh wow.
It really isn't. CoD has sold about 100 M since it became popular (CoD4). Mario platformers & Mario Kart have sold over 130 M since MKDS.
Back on topic, I highly doubt your average CoD fans will drop close to $300 on a Vita + memory card and $50 on a portable MW4 instead of buying it on PS360 where all of their friends play, even if cross platform is available. But that's just me.
Why are you comparing one franchise since 2007 to one since 2005?Ha ha ha! Oh wow.

Which is why the WiiU, and PSV versions aren't particularly important.
And people will actually spend nearly £100 on one game?
Noone forgot about the Wii, they just looked at the sales figures for most third party software, particularly anything not targeted at a casual player and decided that despite the install-base, it simply wasn't viable even with the reduced dev costs.
Same thing happened with DS. It's a major problem for Nintendo that there have been remarkably few third-party success stories over the years despite their dominance in the market.

How much has Mario sold since November '07?

No one is forcing people to buy both but it's an option. If I want to play on PC and PS3 I can. If I want to play on Vita and PC I can. What's the problem?
I don't even know where all this enthusiasm is coming from for COD Vita.
Has there been like ANY interviews, press releases or events touting this game from either Sony OR Activision? I must have missed something.
Of course it would make a difference. The first two years of Mario Kart DS and a year of NSMBs DS are probably a fair few copies. He could have easily compaired CoD since 2005 it wouldn't have made a difference.

This could be a biggie, with a Vita price drop + COD would do great things for Vita.
Does Vita has clicky sticks?

Sorry, but the facts don't seem to support your position.

BTW, has Call of Duty been proven to sell systems?
Most of those games were also released earlier also (which obviously pays a factor). The only recent mario's released are both on the 3ds, while impressive on the platform aren't particularily significant for the franchise yet.
I honestly can't see the number of people taking that option being higher than double digit figures, if people want to spend that money they'll either buy one game and loads of dlc or 2 games, they won't buy the same game twice
To be fair, he did say "anything not targeted at a casual player". That graph doesnt say anything about what types of 3rd party games that have sold what.Sorry, but the facts don't seem to support your position.

I don't think people would want that, they wouldn't trust it to be good. It needs to be the real normal PS360 game.If it's an original game, then if I were Sony I'd simply advertise it like this:
"Yes, you heard that right -- this new Call of Duty is only for PlayStation Vita" while showing gameplay footage showing that it's just like a console COD.
Ca-ching.
I still don't see how this is news. CoD will be released in fall. CoD is ported to anything and everything. Anyone could have figured it out.
"SHOCKING NEWS" indeed.
