yeah but at least we knew they were coming.

What major titles does Vita have on the horizon?

This is what I'd like to know, everything I've seen for this thing looks good but the vast majority of the soon to be released and announced games all have home console versions that are basically better in every way. The few that are left after that exclusion don't really seem worth the cost of buying a console, a sizable memory card and the games.

It looks as though anything coming out prior to E3 has already been announced , I'm sure there'll be other good games out before the end of the year, kind of hard for their not to be really. But is it going to be more handheld versions of stuff I'd rather play on my PC or couch ? Also, I'd be amazed if a better deal didn't happen before christmas too. Right now the above point I made about cost- well for me to go out next week and buy a wifi model, 32GB memory card, lumines and idono, 1 other retail game and perhaps download stardust delta- this is nearly 500$. It's very hard to justify that cost, especially since I haven't even seen what nintendo plans to do with the Wii U, it'll likely set me back a similar sum of change if it turns out to have some cool stuff at launch.

I got burned before with the PSP line, bought an original north american launch unit , eventually had almost a dozen games for it , even upgraded to the 2000 series when that launched. Now that it's been out as long as it has It's easy for me to say that it was kind of a pointless system - it had tons of great games but almost all of them could be played with better control and better graphics at home , since I'm nearly 30 now , it seems pointless to bring my games with me when I get out of the house. I'm socializing or going to work, 2 places that don't need portables. And even if I DO get bored , well I've got a phone for simple mindless games and internet surfing.

Last year , I did the same thing with the 3DS, I got all interested in buying one (mostly for the screen) and I knew there wasn't a damn thing worth owning on it for at least 2 months. But , I didn't think the price would go down in 4 months either. I don't really want to repeat that with a Vita.

Popped into GameStation to trade in a load of stuff that I never use. Walked out with 478 quid credit. My body is ready for Wednesday.

I hope Target doesn't fail on having plenty of games to choose from tomorrow, I want Uncharted, UMVC3 and Hotshots.

Do we know if we are able to order online from them and get the B2G1?

Earlier people were wondering about the battery life of the Vita while in standby. So, four hours ago I started up Hot Shots, went to a course, then just let my Vita sit until it went idle. I've even pulled my Vita up twice since then to look at my Notifications, Friends List, and to download some stuff.

Battery is still showing to be completely full. So I think it's safe to say that the Vita is smartly designed in that respect.

As we all know though, it does just EAT battery while you're playing a game though. It would be near dead by this point if I had been. Not that I mind, but just an FYI.

how was the condition? mines is ok but the battery big but still works fine

also this is a better deal than gamestop $25 extra credit

my condition was pretty good, mainly because I hardly use it and haven't for years now, I'm not sure if it effects the $75 trade in value or not

So thanks to the Futureshop Trade 1, get 1 deal I'm thinking about picking up another game for when I get my Vita on Wednesday. What do you guys think is the best choice between these 3:

Katamari (Haven't played one of these since the first one)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Played this a bit before on different systems and always liked it, but I'm not sure about the quality of the port)
Hot Shots Golf 5 (Owned 4 on the PS3, but never really got into it. You guys really seem to love this one though.)

Damn I just had a thought, Lara Croft and the Guardian of light might be great on Vita. I haven't played the full version yet but I think I would snatch it right up if it was ported.

Crystal Dynamics isnt making games with old Lara anymore, but maybe square would let someone port it. I am not sure though, its been 2 years since.

There is this game, Book of Memories, that looks a bit similar. It has the same viewpoint and co op focus, maybe you would like that? I am interested in it. It release next month..

That's pretty freaking sweet. I love standby mode on the PSP and I'll love it on the Vita.

I checked out my Best Buy's Vita collection today. They had all the first party Sony titles, FIFA, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom on the shelves. In the glass case that you have to ask a worker to open, they had Lumines there by itself. I thought that was pretty funny.

no PJM??? fuck that.

here's another question: how is the Vita (or rather the content manager) going to know that a game (such at PJM) that isn't currently transferable, is transferable whenever Sony makes it so? will we have to download a firmware update for the Vita? for the PS3? how does it work? how does the Vita's content manager become aware of a game becoming compatible with the system and then allow it to be acknowledged and transferred?

Playing Gravity Daze and having the notifications disabled pretty much means I won't be seeing group messages until many hours later. :x

What is a great PSP JRPG I can get off the PSN for the Vita? I've only played Jean D Arc, I was looking at FFT for $9.99, is Ogre worth 2x the price?

I am so god damn crazy. Not only did I buy Sony's Screen Protector dual pack, but I also got Hori's Full Screen Protector for the front; in addition, to a Hori Silicone Case. Wtf.

Got a 32gb card. DD 4 life. Also are the 3g versions better at certain things? Like Near functionality is better right? Also they have better bundles than the wifi one I've noticed. I switched to a 3g one on Amazon.
I honestly think if someone is gonna buy the vita the 3G should be the one to buy.

Right now im on a train and taking a hour trip to chicago the 3G is coming verrrry in handy.

Especially with near (which i love) i get to see every one im near and add them as friends.

Off topic, but are you in Michigan??

arent you afraid of stalkers?

The only thing that's holding me back from trading in my vita is that I have 3 games that never got put on psn and one that I imported :(

Or you could just tether to your cellphone data plan.

This is bullshit that the Devs need to stop.

I really hope these only happen for launch games. If this fall games keep doing this, I'm gonna sell my Vita and tell Sony to fuck itself.

It was posted earlier, but you can get the 3G Launch Bundle for the same price as the Wifi only version from Lockerz. Snagged it last night for $250.

No reason to get the Wifi unless you're waiting for a price drop, doing trade ins, or want the FEB. Or if there's some deal I don't know about.

Anyone not huge on the select/start buttons? I have to use the select button a ton when playing HSG and it's kinda awkward. Oh well.

Also, is there any way at all to disable the playarea or whatever it's called? I just wanna tap the icon and do what it does. I really wish I could bring back XMB.

Haven't popped in Deviants, yet. Haven't tried all the system minigames. Cards still in plastic. Uncharted is fun, enough, I suppose.

Mutant Blobs Attack looks great. You guys know that it's sort of a sequel to another game, right? That was also really great; had real cool coop. The Giant Bomb Quick Look of that game really shows off why it was so good.

I need to pay attention to this developer. There's something awesome brewing over there. And to top it off they're not charging $15, or even $10 for these games. Both have been $8. I hope everyone supports them, because they really could easily charge more.

No it's not bullshit, it's an excellent design decision considering the current state of the OS UI. Notifications currently take up a decent chunk of the upper right corner of the screen. Full screen games like Escape Plan or FIFA are where this especially can be a headache.

Sony could take cues from Apple and their notifications system.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. Trying to check the challenge rankings in game takes a few extra seconds because I have to reconnect to PSN, and as soon as I exit the rankings page I disconnect from the PSN.

Is there a reason why they couldn't just have an option for users to hide notifications in game instead of just shutting off all network functions?

Can you link me . It says 299 for me. 279 with what I can only assume is a member discount.

Top 3 best games, what do you guys have?

wipeout 2028, hot shots golf, and escape plan.

of course i only have five games, the other two being little deviants from the feb (that i played all of 5 minutes and haven't touched since) and the michael jackson game i got from the demo fuck up where it gave the whole game away. and michael jackson turned out to be not a half bad game btw. i would never have bought it on my own but i may actually pick it up when it has a price drop to ease my conscience.

So, does uncharted on the Vita look just like it did when it was first shown off on the "NGP"?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBlOpXa-ruw

Jaggies aside the game in some ways looks even better then the original uncharted on the PS3. Graphically for a launch game it looks amazing and gives me tingles just thinking about what the Vita will be able to achieve down the road in terms of visuals.

Oh, and the gameplay is pretty damn good too...

yeah i picked up the first one yesterday. but to be fair it has been 15 dollars up until last week when they dropped it to 8. i know the price drop was in the last month because i downloaded the demo last month and it was still 15 bucks so i passed. i think it was last week when they dropped it. the first one is a lot of fun. the new one looks great too.
