Really, an amazing episode with, for me anyway, such a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed how they
basically got all the pent up frustration out in the first half of the episode, in a fight that ultimately subverted the expected outcome of the Kaiki confrontation
. That in itself was a neat twist, but how they then deal with
Kaiki himself and the whole idea of fronts, facades, and frauds
was just spectacular.

I mean, I don't even know what I can say about the directing, since there were probably 10 edits/cuts a minute at times... all I know is that the script was fantastic.

(Which leads me to again feel that I'd be perfectly happy if these were all drama CDs, but that's a whole different discussion)

That good? I guess it's time for me to pick the series back up.

Poyopoyo 07: You guys really should be watching this. It's adorable.

Will give it a shot if its unique cute, and not generic manipulative cute
So very much over the formulaic cuteness in anime, trying too hard to be cute is in fact ugly. Especially when its one of the selling points of a show.

Arjuna 02: Wait, so she has to
not fight the monsters by fighting the monsters
? I DON'T FOLLOW YOUR LOGICK CARTOON

It's hilarious how the lines in this script can be misinterpreted. Also: dat subtlety

Amagami SS+ 7:

They managed to find a way to make a story that's even more boring than Ai's loneliness. Now it's just a
"we should do something to break up our routine before our relationship gets stale"
story. Blerp.

I suppose at least there was the requisite service, for those so inclined:

Seems like by going in reverse order, they pretty much got the two best stories out of the way. Here's hoping Haruka's arc will at least have an interesting complication, but I can't imagine Sae's arc being anything but bland too (unless the hot blooded narrator makes his return).

Kinda agree.
I really don't know what they can do for Sae's to be interesting.
Really hoping Haruka's is good.
though I think if you take these with season one in mind they aren't really bad, situations just aren't as good.
probably a side effect of only 2 episodes an arc.

Nisemonogatari 7

I'm ashamed that I couldn't follow a good deal of that conversation. I could blame part of it on me being tired as hell or on Shinichiro Miki's voice, but I still feel like I'm partially unworthy of my NisiOisiN fan card right now. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow and see if I fare better.

Also, a quick calculation shows that you guys averaged about one post per two minutes today. Congratulations.

Nise 07:

The hype for "that scene" left me disappointed.
A whole two seconds? The brevity alone makes it one of the most tame instances of fanservice in the show thus far.

A good episode, though I wasn't expecting
the confrontation with Kaiki to happen until the end of the series
. The discourse on
lies an truth
was enjoyable, though it made me yearn for
more Kaiki as he seemed like he was ripe for a lot more characterization than he received. I suppose that antagonists will never be a focus of the -monogatari franchise.

Enjoyed the beach skits, but the radio dj segment and a few of the others that followed left me bored until the hair-on-the-mole scene. Loved the constant progression in Hidenori's thoughts, and the ending was cute.

Smile Precure 03:

I came dangerously close to dying of moe. If you plan to watch this, have 911 on speed dial if you have any sort of heart condition. I'm not exaggerating.

denpa onna - 13

Got through the helmet-wearing ditzy girl only to arrive at the scene where retard-moe (and the heroine of this tale, apparently) greets the lead wearing nothing but a transparent dress. Bravo, Shaft.

I wouldn't have minded if this girl was featured there instead.

Well, slightly more then that, depending on the scene in question.

Anyway, it the direction was pretty solid, I'll do a quick run down of it when I have the time.

If they'd only removed the creepy fanservice this episode would have been perfect.

Armor Hunter Mellowlink 1

Finally something I'm actually curious about a shot rather than satisfying morbid curiosity here. Heard about this forever ago and it looks more my speed than most stuff I've watched lately.
Mellowlink is set during the same time as the VOTOMs tv series although wikipedia tells me the storylines are independant of one another. The titular character was part of a framed unit and has set to avenge his fallen comrades by killing those that set them up. Given the universe, one man vs the military is a bad idea due to Armored Troopers but Mellowlink's unit was conveniently an Armor Hunter unit so he has a bigass anti-AT rifle.

A couple shots that I think captures the feel of the show.

The real highlight of this episode: Scopedogs!

Armor Hunter Mellowlink is pretty much an 80's action movie (funnily enough) in that it's a simple story of revenge populated by lots and lots of cool action sequences. Which is why it's a great little show.

Did you not see last weeks episode? It was all animated all the time man!
Episode 6 was outsourced to Douga Koubou, though. Episode 7 was animated by Shaft themselves.

Oh hi folks, first post, been reading GAF on and off since it was Gaming Age Forum, never thought about registering until recently, etc etc.

I almost wanted to make a post, just to point out that the "School Days character relationship chart" several pages ago was obvious trolling (you should be able to at least recognize the Sister Princess characters in it), but decided against using a first post for School Days.

Thank you for the information. I can't read that link in that language, but ANN has them listed on there. I'm not surprised, in fact I was pretty sure that it wasn't SHAFT when I watched it last week, it just looked far too consistent to be them. Episode 7 isn't up to that standard.

That's some serious lurking.

Should I be ashamed that this disappoints me?

lmao at the new E7 AO scans

i don't know what to believe in anymore...

I honestly think the fanservice exists only to make sure you are paying rapt attention to what amounts to three people talking to each other for 15 minutes straight.
