I'm sorry, but for my shiny $249 handheld I want games like Gravity Rush or Super Stardust Delta, not retro crap for $5, no matter how nostalgic it is.

Yes, Vita needs to have more quality software. Not PSN $5 variety type, this one can come once there is enough games for 39.99$ to justify buying Vita. All PSN games are simply value added.

Saying you want games like SSD and not retro crap, well, SSD is based on retro crap! A twin stick hardout shooter. Sounds like you only think quality software is determined by graphics and not gameplay! :P

I want games like Gravity Rush AND small scale DD games like Retro City Rampage. Variety is the spice of life. Hopefully the Vita can deliver on both ends.

Arrrrgggg.... World block will not go down, 4 days trying.

I plan on buying 2 games at launch. So, For those that have there's already, any recommendations for a game that offers quite a bit of replayability?

You sound like you need to look into Lumines. Its like the perfect game to leave in your portable forever to be taken out and played for 5-10 minutes at a time.

4players.de. Here's a direct link to their Virtua Tennis 4 review.
It's hard to make out specific complaints given the broken translation my browser's providing but it seems like they had a lot of issues with finding matches online.

Virtua tennis online has been great so far.

It puts you directly into an arcade 1v1 match versus the AI while it finds a player to match you with. This usually only takes a minute, at which point it pops up "new challenger!" nd brings you right into the player vs player online match.

Love it!

Lumines and Virtua Tennis are both good, and Super Stardust is very nice at only $15.

Heavily debating whether I should get it at launch or wait til the slim version comes out. I felt burnt when I held the PSP-2000 and the hardware felt so much better than the 1000.

Just re-preordered my Vita Wi-Fi on Amazon, they are giving free 4GB memory card if you add both to your cart. Now have 2 memory cards (4GB + 8GB)

Its really a shame now that some form of multi tasking is in and you can do custom soundtracks in every game, that there is no internet radio apps and there is no podcasting apps yet. Both of those were on the PSP too, which makes it extra disappointing. Really hope they make it in a update soonish, but somehow i doubt it.

Those two functions did more to keep my PSP in my pocket everywhere then near ever will.

Army Corps was just removed from Amazon B2G1 free page which was the only preorder game, I'm betting they add the other games as they are released. Probably no hope for VT4 though.

Sounds like you aren't the type to be happy with having a first hardware release and games for months or years before a hardware revision comes out.

I know I'll get at least a years worth of my money from my Vita, and I love the games now... Plus the hardware is VERY nice... Right now.

Why should anyone feel "burned" when an upgrade comes out a year later? If you aren't going to be happy using the system now, don't get it now.

to anyone who has the vita already:

when you got it did you have to charge it right away or does the battery have some juice?

Just wondering because i'll be going to tomorrow's midnight launch.

Can you explain this better please? How do you get a free 4gb memory card?

e: figured it out. add a 4gb card with the wifi vita, and it gives you a $20 promotion discount. sweet.

That's so strange. The 2000 feels so much cheaper than the original to me. I kind of regretted the "upgrade."

Picked up Lumines and a 16gb card after dumping my launch 3DS titles at Gamestop, and Katamari coming tomorrow from Amazon. To many great games this launch!

In general, FEB folks said theirs were about 80-100% charged.

I figured it out. With my purchase of my Vita at Toys R Us I'll get the $20 Gift Card and $5 for being a rewards member. KATAMARI HERE I COME.

Does anyone have a quick list of all the IGN Vita scores?

Every time I see one linked the score appears to be surprisingly high. Just wondering how they stack up against the rest of the lineup.

It felt cheaper, but more smartly made. Thinner, better controls period, no need for an ejection latch on the UMD drive... though it DID help for me that I had been borrowing one prior, so the fact it was MY PSP made it a bit better.

Add the wifi Vita to your cart, add the 4GB card to your cart, proceed to checkout. You should see a $19.99 discount at checkout.

Nice they cancelled out my existing pre-order and let me qualify for the free card. Probably going to just sell it anyway but I like my freebies.

You can try metacritic. I only pay attention to the critic reviews gathered for games. IF there's an IGN review on a listed game then it'll be there. For instance, click on rayman origins and you'll be taken to a list of both critic and user scores. Click on all critics and you'll see ign listed there.

So after vowing to sit this launch out a couple of weeks ago, I did a complete 180...

I ordered the following from Lockerz:
Vita 3G Launch Bundle (8GB+other crap) - $251.99
32GB memory stick - $74.99

That can't be right, i paid $300.98 for the same bundle through amazon. How were you able to get it $50 cheaper?

Walked into my HMV in Oxford Street (london), and saw they were giving Uncharted away with any Vita pre-order and most of the games were discounted to £25 when bought with the system (I would imagine it is only one game per system). Makes it to be about £10 more than the amazon deal when you factor in the memory card, but you do get the pre-order pack so it factors out to be about the same cost.

Is this going to be the case in all HMV stores? If so I might find myself buying FIFA and Uncharted..

I have the wi-fi unit preordered, but am considering the 3G just for the memory card. However, is 8GB really going to be "good enough?" I'm really not sure what to expect, memory wise.

So guys, what's the difference between UMvC vita and the console version? Any visual differences, like animated backrounds and stuff? Also cross platform play?

they had this deal where you could watch a bunch of "Videoz" there and rack up "PTZ" which I did and was able to actually get the 3G bundle for $239.99 myself. That said, it's still yet to ship... but yeah.

Vita version has replay mode, better training mode (I think) that shows hit detection boxes, you can remote play it and use the PSVita screen as shortcuts for moves too ala Super Street Fighter IV 3DS
