We've signed Michael Antonio from Reading on loan. Gives us another option on the wing going into the derby on Sunday.

Also muchly needed because John Bostock from Spurs is absolutely garbage.

God, I can't believe how horrible Chelsea have become. We really were extreeeeeeeemly lucky not to have lost 5 or even 6-1. Embarassing performances on all fronts outside of 2-3 players, including the goalie, tops.

Edit: Damn you guys, Fady is going to be so upset over this.

What's this about Messi :0? Do you mean the Chelsea game? It was horrible! It has been very difficult to watch Chelsea recently - 4 wins in 14 games, all competitions.

BTW, going on topic. Chelsea needs to build up a decent midfield. Really, they can't defend or create.

Oh yeah, you nailed it pretty much. They simply need to PAY ATTENTION. So much slacking off yesterday - you'd think they were training!

We nearly got though this whole thread without any girl gifs let alone any olivia ones (I have wanted to trust me) but fady went and posted ellen page on page one. ffs :)

I made sure it was related to football :P :P

It's even worse when you consider the actual wins themselves. 4-0 against Wolves, fair enough, but the wins against Leicester (looked edgy until the 88th minute when we finally finished them off), Sunderland and QPR (only won due to a dodgy penalty won by a Daniel Sturridge dive) were massively unconvincing.

I'm ready for tomorrow.

The game will be glorious.

Does anyone have the van Bommel "fuck you Real" gif ?

Oh bro you mean 4-0 against Portsmouth and finishing off Wolves at the last 2 minutes right? Yeah very unconvincing. Dodgy penalty against QPR, terrible performance against the bottom club Wigan, a home tie to Birmingham, qualifying with Swansea at the final few seconds, playing very dodge against Sunderland...BAH. I see NO PROGRESS.

I have the feeling that Bayern will not pass.
Basle has been preparing to this game as if it was the end of the times in paradise and FC Weissbier is being plagued by internal affairs as always.

Personally, I see 2-0 Basle and 1-1 in the return leg. It would the absolute highlight of my long time Swiss fan career.

Sorry Fady you're right. When you put it like that it's even more depressing - even the game we won 4-0 was unconvincing and only closed the game out in the very late stages (unsure why I thought Leicester by the way, and not Portsmouth!)

Aye, me too. Although it doesn't seem like a particularly balanced midfield as I consider them both to be quite attacking.

Yeah. Tom can tackle effectively, but you're wasting him if you make it a large proportion of his job. I can see Pogba picking up bookings if he were put in that situation, too. Not out of deliberate roughness or even particular clumsiness, but size, pace, enthusiasm, inexperience = mild trouble.

Tom to start, Pog to replace him, perhaps.

There's no Wayne Rooney at open training but Michael Owen is doing solo fitness work. #MUFC

10:40 The players are out on the training pitch now, doing a bit of possession work. Here's the list of everybody who's currently being put through their paces: De Gea, Amos; Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand, Jones, Rafael, Smalling; Anderson, Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Nani, Park, Pogba, Scholes,

Strikers must be skiving.

City vs United has been moved to Monday night at 8pm.

Potential title decider that one. Surprised they've moved it to the Monday night.

I envy the GMP.

Northumbria Police would never let us have a night derby :( 12-1pm on a sunday or it aint gonna happen. It's shit.

For some reason I can't put money on Glenn Huddle as the next Chelsea manager. It's basically free money for the bookmakers unless they know something I don't?
:lol
That's from the Man Utd - Arsenal game earlier in the season, isn't it? Which rag is that from??

Looks like Daily Mirror

Apparently Roy Keane is going to be a columnist for The Sun on Sunday. Oh Keano, what are you doing.

Ajax have said Suarez hasn't been invited to the United/Ajax game. So that story was made up then?

Benitez for Chelsea getting picked up.

lol

A certain faction of Liverpool numpties will be well annoyed.

Benitez would be perfect for Chelsea. Said it when they drew with Birmingham and I'll say it again. I wouldn't begrudge Benitez from going there, they're a top club in the premier league, not one of Liverpool's closest rivals and he's been out of a job for too long, considering his managerial pedigree.

The thing that would annoy me though is seeing certain Chelsea fans performing a U-Turn on their opinion of him, should he become manager.

I'd like to see them with a manager who can decisively tell Cole, Terry, and Lampard to shut their mouths and behave like professionals. And sack/suspend them if they refuse.

Cole leaking to the papers that he's livid with AVB telling him how to play is just the act of a child.

I'm not fully convinced by Benitez at Chelsea. He's a good manager but his man management has always been questionable for me and he'd have to be right on top of a lot of big ego's in that Chelsea dressing room.

Benitez spent much of his time at Liverpool clashing with Hicks and Gillett and vying for power; his work in challenging them is often credited with helping to eventually remove them which is just one reason why Benitez retains such a loyal following amongst the fans. Seems to me he'd be ideal to go in and take control from a crazy owner and his favourite players - his man-management skills are not particularly important, he only needs to tell the likes of Terry & Lampard to piss off not carefully soothe them given their lack of quality these days. If anything, Benitez's style would probably go down well with players used to the equally frosty Mourinho.

From what i've heard, however, Guillem Ballague has already rubbished rumours of Benitez being of interest to Chelsea to take over; I doubt he'd want the stress of another confrontation like he had at Liverpool anyways.

Plus Roman interferes far more than H&G did, so if he found it hard to work for them, you'd imagine he'd find the situation at Chelsea intolerable. Not much he could do to force Roman out, lol.

He's coming back home anyway. 2014 believe.

Mourinho is not frosty with his players.

Im actually quite glad I wasn't able to watch it. I've just moved out (now a 20 minute walk from Loftus Road!) and I don't have internet yet.

Thing is, Bosingwa at LB? Stupid. Cole or Bertrand. Where is Romeu? We need to pick up. I don't want AVB to go but god damn he really needs to change things. Give the players what they want until the end of the season system wise then chuck them all out if he needs to.
