Guild Wars 2 Beta Signup up (will last 48hours)

Still no confirmation email after 5 hours but when I try to sign up with the same email adress it says that its already signed up for the beta
Same. Maybe unchecking the "Send me e-mails" box has something to do with it. Oh well, they have my registration, I hope they do send me the e-mail with the invite if I get in.

Nope I unchecked that box and still received my confirmation email.

Well, it's been 5 hours since I signed up using my gmail address without receiving a confirmation e-mail. So I signed up with my ISP e-mail and received the confirmation e-mail instantly.

I signed up a third time about 20 minutes ago with a gmail account and received mine instantly.

I think earlier their email system was basically down and now it's up.

Really stressing out about whether getting the confirmation e-mail is important.

Yeah it seems people using gmail accounts are getting their emails slower.

edit: Resent it via the email that my GW1 account is linked to and got my confirmation instantly.

I actually don't think it's that, i tried one hotmail email, still haven't got it tried the other one now and got it instantly.

Probably thinking the previous requests went missing.

Bit of info on Dyes:

As you’re out adventuring, defeated enemies have a chance to drop seeds that you can take back to an NPC in your character’s personal instance. The seeds take a little time to grow, so you’re given a ticket that you can take back and exchange for a random dye on the following day. Once you do, the new dye will be placed in your inventory so that you can either double-click it to add to your personal collection, mail it to your friends, or even place it on the market to sell to other players.

Are we posting stuff here now?

http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/0...nicles-extra-guild-wars-2-crafting-explained/

Crafting Explained. It's like Skyrim alchemy, but you have to craft the parts first. It's not anything too exciting. You want a shield? You craft a shielf base, a handle and then an insignia to improve it, plop all three into discovery tab and boom.

I fail to see what's not good about it. I always found crafting a waste of time in MMORPG because you always have better gear equipped and grinding stuff all the way to the endgame is time consuming and usually boring.

Yes, Guild Wars 2's crafting system seems a lot simpler, but probably much more usefull at any levels.

For people who use gmail

For some reason emails from NCSoft have trouble with gmail addresses.

When you sign up, put yourname@googlemail.com and you'll receive the confirmation immediately.
Use the same address you use for gmail, just type out the word "google" and it'll work.

Thanks to the bros in the GW2 General on /vg/ for figuring it out.

Is there anything in the confirmation email that we actually need or is it more for peace of mind. I'm one of those using gmail so i'm just wondering if it's worth it re-registering with another email.

It doesn't really mean anything but it's good for letting us know that they've actually received our information. People who use gmail have complained that they've never gotten newsletters from NCSoft either.

They said that as long as the page said that it worked after submitting then you're fine and they have your info. They also said they'll add the confirmation email box later so people can get the confirmation email if they really want it.

I signed up and got the confirmation. The game is an instant-buy for me anyway, I just want a taste after all these years of waiting.

Great. Thank you!

This worked perfectly! Thanks a lot.

You're welcome.

As we've already been told, confirmation emails might just be slow to gmail and we can find out if they got our submission by entering our info again, but I felt it was important to point out because if gmail users aren't getting confirmations or newsletters, they might not get invites either when the time comes.

I couldn't find this thread a few minutes ago. Luckily, a good Google search pulled up the sign up page. I'm looking forward to this.

Sweet man I re-tried using this method and got my email instantly, it was weird though because my sons account is gmail and he used the normal gmail.com and still got his right away.

Oh well confirmed sign up :) now just to go through the painful waiting process...

Also, for what it's worth, I used my "@gmail" address the first time and received confirmation almost instantaneously. :S

I tried it with my gmail address and I didn't get a confirmation. But as has been said here numerous times, re-signing up using googlemail.com instead worked perfect.

Could it be that I'm signed up twice for the beta? Is it possible that my chances have now doubled? Mwah ha ha ha...

I wonder if I screwed myself from being picked by choosing the primarily PvE option. Probably would have had better chances if I said I played a balance of both :( Hope that's not the case.

If I don't get into this beta I'm gonna be so annoyed. ;) Entered so many in the past and missed out on all...

Yeah same boat. I have played (and loved) wow for over 6 years now and have yet to make a beta. The only chance I have of switching to GW2 is if I get in the beta to try it out.
