I don't understand this mentality. how is supporting dortmund or anyother team better than supporting schalke. they're play some good football and are not more or less sympathetic than dortmund.
Indeed, you don't understand
Nothing in Nordrhein-Westfalen seems pretty... lost. From Koblenz to Paderborn, everything you see is an endless sea of junctions, buildings, crossroads, airports, warehouses on the side of road and traffic jam everywhere, every two meters.
Calling Gelsenkirchen "lost" is like saying that New York is the 101st city of the US.
Well it's small ass town between Dortmund, Essen and the whole Dusseldorf area. Of course it's not uncharted territory, but there's absolutely nothing there. No airport, no metro, no university, no nothing. Their city center is a ghost town most of the time because the people have to go to other cities for shopping, entertainment and whatever. Look at this smog infested pile of shit:
If it wasn't for Leverkusen (aka. Neverkusen) they'd be second to none at failing to win the league. Their last league championship is from 1958.
Their current team budget is heavily leveraged and they move at the brink of bankruptcy for almost a decade now. We were also almost broke, but managed to undergo reforms and came out stronger than ever (in terms of financial background and such).
Their sponsor is Putin's shady Gazprom.
Their players don't seem to ever be vetted for their character and are very often assholes. Off the top of my head: the lying pos Oliver Held:

And you must have heard about Jermaine Jones, right?

PHANTAST2K LEAVE HIM ALONE
You glorious Icelander, you can support any team you want.
But I also like Juve ;(
I'd like to have a German team or an Italian team to root for so I actually have a reason to watch a different league. Hard to choose this season though for both leagues. I got Dortmund on that Bundesliga flow chart lol, a Serie A team would probably be best since they generally start later than the PL.
Ok, I'll make the case for Dortmund.
