Torres binned from Spanish squad.

It's only fair. Smart decision from Del Bosque.

The strange thing about Bundesliga sides like Hamburg, Bremen, Stuttgart, Dortmund and Schalke is that they only are good in certain seasons. Sometimes they fare extremely well both internationally and in the BL and sometimes they barely avoid relegation.

You don't see that in other leagues except France where Monaco and Lens became champions and got relegated during the same decade. Why is it so ? The truly only regular side is Bayern. In the EPL, Serie A and Liga, you are guaranteed to have Manu, Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter, Juventus, Milan, Barça, Valencia and Madrid in the top 5, if not the top 3.

I remember following Schalke back in the late 90s after their UEFA cup win. 2001 campaign had med super excited...well except for that last game.

Surprised it took so long to be honest, plenty of talent snapping at his heels.

In other news, my phone is due for an upgrade today. I've had an iPhone for two years, but not sure what to upgrade to. So Football-GAF, I ask you:

iPhone 4s or Galaxy S2?

sorry regulus. oh man.

Yup been talking about it. If you don't speak spanish. The video I posted is a report. An inside source with the club says that Cruyff's Institute in Mexico will give a series of presentations/lectures to the Guadalajara staff. He will give the first two and the next 8 will be people he selected. Just a rumour but would be hilarious if true.

Excellent Spurs team news:
Tottenham Hotspur ‏ @SpursOfficial
Harry is hopeful that Luka, Ade, Benoit and Rafa will all be available to face Arsenal on Sunday.

Sandro isn't ready for a return yet and joins William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone on the sidelines.

Shame about Sandro but Livermore is a more than capable deputy.

I'd wait for the newer upgrades. Unless your phone is unbearable at the moment.

Both are great though. Prefer the iPhone myself though plenty of my friends have the S2. It's great, don't like the plastic feel though.

Yeah you should be, they were excellent without key players, at Old Trafford too. If only they played a bit better at home : [

I skipped the united match for FIFA Vita. Fucking addicted now lol. :(

Haha I am addicted to the demo :D Does the game have online co-op where two players can play online on the same team?

Don't make me buy one, you bastards.

Came so close to picking one up yesterday.

You must. It is BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! Also - a very healthy selection of games at the moment.

Thanks, oh Disgea 3 is out on it?? Hmm tempted. I love that series.

Oh if you're a Disgaea fan you'll be happy to know that the Vita version of 3 will have many bonuses. If you're an RPG fan as well you have a good number of them to look forward to in the Vita.

I LOVE Arab commentary. Got a few Arab friends so when we play FIFA they spout this stuff, awesome.

THIS. Arab commentary for the most part can add a crazy amount of excitement to a match.

S2 is nice. It's my first non-primitive phone, really, so I have no educated field of comparison.

But it functions. Unlike our facking defence.

Just thought it was interesting because I was always under the assumption that he was linked to Barcelona. I wonder how he could help Chivas, though? Lol

Still cant believe how bad the decision was to go to Chelsea. Fair enough we all know things weren't right behind the scenes but I have no doubt that had Torres stayed with us he would be scoring on a regular basis - Suarez would of given Torres a lot of space and chances alone.

In other news - You watching the U18's derby? 3-1 to Liverpool now after a mazy run by that new lad Jordan Ibe (finished by Morgan). Another new lad Nacho is about to come on.

Torres absence is a last call for him to man up and do his fucking work: scoring goal.

Fady, PM me with your PSN id.

Other footy-gaf vita users, do as well if you want. I dont have Fifa yet, but the next month that will change.

Muniain and Soldado to replace Torres and Pedro? Niiiiiice. I've heard a lot of great things about Muniain and I like attempting to poach him from Bilbao in FIFA. :P I say attempting because most of the time Bilbao won't get rid of him because he's a "prospect".

prince is officially out of tomorrow's starting line-up, along with ibra.

our chance to win just severely diminished. instead of a 98% chance of winning, it is now a 95.6%.

:(

Wait until at least the S3 is unveiled, iPhone 5 won't be too far off either.

Don't worry. You have Muntari.

plus, juve no longer have amauri, the only player who could counter-act sulley's awesomeness.

sulley actually played amazing last week, i hope he doesn't give me reasons to start making fun of him again tomorrow. he wouldn't be the first player who is a joker at inturd but goes on to better things.

You'll see just how awesome Amauri is when you play Viola!
lolololo

I'd like Sulley to remain a joke. There's only so much Torres jokes you can use before the well runs dry :p

In other news, Chelsea's Mikel confirms that Anzhi are interested in him.

Because this thread is for Real Football and nobody would pay any attention to them anyways.

player of the year has to go to van persie. Without him, well it doesn't bear thinking about it

silva has yaya and co to help him out. Van persie has lolcott and 9 other mugs

Torres should now be rated not on his scoring ability but his devilish good looks.

/mancrush

Goodness me, what on Earth are Wolves playing at? Fire Mick, spectacularly fail to land a manager, so they promote the assistant until the end of the season.

If they now beat on Saturday I shall not be amused :lol

I would laugh :lol

I remember my dad being so depressed after that. It was when they actually went down on the pitch and started celebrating wasn't it?

I still wonder what it could have been with a Torres and Suarez partnership. I think a lot of defenders would have found it impossible to deal with the both of them. A trickster and a poaching finisher. Shame that he made up his mind to go to a bigger team.

Anyway that Jordan Ibe kid is looking good.

He looked... lethargic, less spritely last night. Wasn't getting up and down the pitch well at all.

I thought he just wasn't match fit though.

Agreed. He wasn't quite limping, but he seemed to be mincing the weight he was putting on his leg at certain points during the start of the second half. Thought it might just be match fitness issues at the time. Pity, but the medical staff need to make sure he isn't rushed back. I'm a bit wary of him being in the squad for Norwich; if he needs surgery, then it should happen now - God forbid United enters Hargreaves territory again.

FootyGAF, who may I add for some Vita FIFA Football later on? PSN id is Davidmagyar.

Haven't actually got the game yet because I just had to get an English version, but will come any day now!

What are the player ratings for the Newcastle starting 11 in FIFA VITA? I shouldn't care but I'm curious. I heard EA fucked up yet again with player ratings during the squad update released yesterday, Liverpool aside.

How is FIFA Vita compared to the PS3 version?

It's FIFA 11 with 12's rosters and some of it's game modes. It's good fun but personally I miss the tactical defending and better AI (especially the AI customisation options), hopefully future Vita editions are brought in line with the console versions.

What does tactical defending bring to the table?

I think the next round of FIFA games you can expect cross-play with the PS3 version.

What does tactical defending bring to the table?

It allows you to shadow the player in front of you, close off the space and stop them running forward with the ball, it makes it much more like real football and much less frantic. It's got a new standing interception option that that has to be well timed to succeed. Overall it allows you to frustrate opponents and slow the game down rather than rushing into tackling people and then hurtling down the other end over and over again. It's awkward at first but far better once you get used to it.

lol, Young's high rating on iOS FIFA drives me crazy. He's never played well enough to earn it.

Most of the ratings for the top English clubs are drivel. 78 for Assou-Ekotto. Seventy fucking eight, then there are people like Mertesacker who are rated at 81.

I don't know the ratings in FIFA, but I hate how in PES, a team from any other league besides PL is getting C's and D's for their stats. That's bullshit.

I´ve playing FIFA 12 so much since the squad update, I got my golden finishing touch back.

Can´t wait to get my Vita and FIFA next week.

Don't get it. Some people are saying FIFA VITA is exactly like 2011 but with squad update. No tactical defending from FIFA 12.
