Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 confirmed for Nintendo DS

I predict it'll star the main characters from B/W like a year later and it'll take place in Hoenn. Cynthia and Steven will finally meet which will lead to a new shipping, and there'll be like 30 new Pokemon or something.

And Red and N will be BFFs.

I'm kinda confused at the people laughing at the idea of a sequel as opposed to the normal third title approach which usually amounts to some extra functionality wrapped in the exact same main content. Anyway as I said in the other topic. No 3DS means I won't feel inclined to buy the console yet so in a way this works out for me.

The RSE connection is promising, but it could just as easily mean RBY too. So, really, I wouldn't expect either. There's got to be another reason for why they chose thos colors.

Yes. A gang. A light music gang.

Wont it be possible to have the game run in 3DS mode also?

In 3DS mode it would: Wider field of view, and the option of using 3D.

No, technologically impossible.

But it's so easy. :P

They look like rubies and sapphires at first, but it seems to really just be ice (as in Kyurem, the Ice/Dragon Pokemon). The one's blue because of Zekrom + Kyurem (Electricity + Ice) and the other's red because of Reshiram + Kyurem (Fire + Ice). Also of course because of the whole blue and red are considered opposites, just like black and white thing. Doubt it really has anything to do with Hoenn or Ruby and Sapphire at all.

I'm already in shock, stop ruining my dreams of RSE remake/BW2 being in Hoenn.

:( WHY GAMEFREAK WHY? Hoenn was the best gen

edit:

Sapphire and Ruby are the superior pokemon games and Hoenn is the superior region so it only makes sense if it's set there. TBH

are you me?

A direct sequel is so puzzling. I'm craving for details now. I wouldn't have given 2 shits about a regular "3rd" version.

I'm down for it to be on the DS. It means I can play it without having to get a 3DS.

The new forms look ugly though. I am surprised at how randomly they are revealing Meloetta.

Gamefreak are extremely risk averse when it comes to where mainline pokemon games go. Took forever for a DS one, and it'll be the same for 3DS. They want those guaranteed mega-sales, which requires a large audience.

My guess? No real 3DS pokemon until 2014.

So, huge fan of the series and love competitive battling. This is probably the least exciting news for me possible with a main series release. The third games in the series were always a nice single experience that I didn't need to double dip (or steal my girlfriends copy after she finishes it) for.

Not Grey, not on the 3DS... boo. The least they can do is release a 3DS version that has slightly upgraded visuals, even if it is still 2D graphics.

The only positive spin on this I can find is that this means the 3DS versions are going to get a longer development time, so it mostly likely means 3D models to go with the 3D effect. Yay?

A combined B/W and R/S sequel would be weird, but it is possible. If that meant a downgraded Hoenn, however, I'd be miffed.

Unless it was a runner-up to a full-on remake for the 3DS, Gen VI!

This is so bizarre. I understand that the DS has a large install base (including the 3DS too), but GameFreak's unwillingness to move on is strange.

The end of Pokemon B/W did set up for a sequel...
Isn't N seen flying off to a new region with his Zekrom/Reshiram?

Wow, this is unexpected - really curious to see what they've cooked up.

I also really like the idea that this is Grey and Ruby / Sapphire remixes in one, combined game... but I don't think they'd actually do that.

And while I'm disappointed it's not for 3DS, I'm sure it'll have some kind of 3DS enhancements.

So the new kyurem forms are gonna be electric/ice and fire/ice? Pretty interesting typings.

I like the type combinations.

Too bad they look terrible.

Honestly, I would have preferred a Jigglypuff fusion before Kyurem.

Hell, before a lotta potential pokefusions!

Unova is on a completely different continent (to call it something) than the previous 4 regions.

If Unova's connected to something in this sequel is going to be a new region in the new "continent"

Diamond and Pearl came out 2 years after the DS launch, 3DS is only just now a year old.

So I'll adjust my guess to 2013 before a real 3DS pokemon comes out.

Maybe it's like how Capcom has been able to use relatively the same amount of graphic fidelity in Monster Hunter despite spanning 3 generations.
