Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 confirmed for Nintendo DS

Woah... Weird.

3DS will still get some sales out of it though, yeah? They've managed to kill DS sales.

Maybe these being Black & White still means a ton of rehashed content while they're making a 3DS game too?

WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT THE WHAT???

THE WHAT?

WAT?

If it's Hoenn i'll get Black Sapphire.

Buy Black

Then buy Black 2

They never made Black 2 though, Black was a one-off thing.

The more I think of this, the more I like it assuming it truly plays out like a unique story sequel.

I assume this will have all the tweaks, updates and add ons that a Grey version would have, but rather than remixing the story, they went for an all out sequel. This gives a true new experience and really should bring more purchases, as I like the idea of a more story based direction.

A Grey version is great for those who missed out of B/W, but this opens it up to everyone with a brand new story. The only missed opportunity IMO is that they are not on the 3DS, but I think most people saw it coming.

Here's hoping for a ton of new content on top of the new story as we could expect from a 3rd "remix" version.

If this doesn't add any new pokemon besides legendaries and doesn't add anything to the gameplay I'll see no reason to get this. Who plays pokemon for the single player?

I can't stand competitive multiplayer in most games, Pokemon included. When they add online co-op I'll be there, but Pokemon is 99.9% about single player for me.

This could be pretty cool. Happy to see Game Freak continue to support the DS for so long.

Don't you want to know what happens to N?

Yeah this is basically the SMG2 version of BW, I imagine.

I floated the idea in the IRC that the game starts you off by letting you pick your starter, which you get at level 50. You're the same character from Black/White, just older. It wasn't well received!

I'd really like a singleplayer campaign that focused on higher-level play.

That's the ony thing we can guarantee will never happen in Pokemon. The challenge will always be relegated to Battle Towers and MP.

If it's really about re-using assets then why not release it as Grey?

When will we get more info on this?

This seems to imply a brand new scenario rather than just being an enhanced version of BW.

I'm OK with this and the fact that it's on DS now that things have had time to sink in.

Okay, I'm gonna suggest something crazy here: what if they raised the level cap.

I'd rather they just pull a Metroid-style power-strip on us. Let players import their save, same trainer, import your main team, and you start the game where you left off. Then in the prologue of BW2 you could have your Pokemon stolen from you or otherwise lost, and you're stranded in a strange region. You have to start over, working your way back up to champion there, and around the time you clear the E4 of that region, you get your old team back through some plot device.

Though I am disappointed its not for 3DS, I am interested how they will continue the story. Will N travel to a different part of Unova, yet unknown to the player, and then the players from the first game go over there? It would be a little bit off if there were new protagonists given N's connection with the player.

My isshu is that now I feel like Gen VI will happen at the end of the 3DS's life span like Gen 5 appeared at the end of the DS's. Or is Gamefreak still scared of higher resolutions even with the Pokedex 3D models?

so....much....WHHHHHAAATTTTT.
black 2 for me and i hope they change the way black city and white forest work so that they re actually useful

A raised level cap would be revolutionary.

I don't think its entirely out of the question (infinite tm uses is pretty crazy when you think about it), but if it happens, they'd probably wait for gen 6.

I liked it, Bicchan!

hmmm maybe something like 10 years in the future?

Maybe something like in Tales of Symphonia 2 or other direct sequels in rpgs?

It will probably just be like the kanto part of Pokemon G/S

Black and White 2? Not Gray!? Megaton!? Yeah, no, fuck this shit.

I better be able to catch all pokemon in this version, and it better not be made for DS. Gamefreak, I hope you hear me: a DS SKU would just be ridiculous. A slap to the face for every 3DS owner.

I don't know if you heard, but it's for DS.

As long at they don't plan for B/W 3 or Grey version after this Im happy. As far as Im concerned this is more than Grey version would have been and I think its good to see Pokemon out of its predictable comfort zone. Still bummed about it not being on the 3ds, though I hardly expected it would be.

So anyways, Genesect.. Please let it have an alternate form that looks less like a transformer. I really cringe when I see that abomination.

Don't get the Genesect hate. Awesome design. Like a robot bug, just as it should be. My only complaint is that it's purple.
