I am just curious those of you with data problem on Titan did you go to AT&T store and activate a new 4g sim card or did you used the one from previous phone?

My Titan has a new 4g sim in it, I did notice any problem on my phone so far today.

I'm using a new one I got for this phone. Not my old one. This problem also only came up recently. Got the phone in late November and only started having issues in the last couple weeks.

My co-worker used his old sim card. I did tell him to ask at&t for a new one. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I had them give me a "4G" sim card and I haven't had any problems on my Focus S.

And I sympathize with the folks who are jumping ship over niche features. I was on iPhone and Android relatively early in their life and experienced some growing pains on those platforms, but they are really mature now and have filled a lot of the feature gaps. MS really can't rely on one big update a year to fill the feature gaps. They started far behind in the feature set checklist and they need to move much more quickly. Thankfully, pretty much all I use is covered by the OS or 3rd party apps, but it does suck when you're missing a specific feature and there isn't any info on when or IF that feature is being worked on.

That could be the problem, according to the girl at At&t she said it does need the new 4g simcard to work properly (I got my Titan online during 1 penny sale). She seems very knowledgeable (compare to most of the att rep) and she was the first rep who actually was positive about Windows Phone.

edit: nvm then if choasblade use the new simcard and still having problem. I can't said I have notice any problem on mine.

Very well stated. I think the platform has promise but even as a gadget whore I have had no interest in revisiting the WP7 world due to lack of features and innovation compared to Android.

Eh, I'd disagree with you on the innovation front. WP7 is the most innovative phone OS platform since the original iOS unveiling. Andoid......not so much.

I'd say it's related to feature sets and what you find useful. Take for example Chrome browser for Android 4.0. Syncs my bookmarks with my PCs, I can access the tabs I have open on my PCs from my phone and the browser itself is extremely fast and smooth. That kind of integration in their product is something I love.

No, I don't think innovation is related to comparing feature sets at all. In fact, its quite the opposite. I think we're having two different arguments, or at the very least you conflated innovation and feature lists where it really wasn't applicable. Having Chrome in your phone isn't any more innovative than me having Word in mine.

what's innovative about WP7?

I'd say the idea of hubs is innovative. Good enough for Google to try its hands at the People Hub in ICS. The panorama UI is innovative, and once again ICS is integrating more panning into its menu system as opposed to scrolling. Live tiles are innovative. Having the OS integrate 3rd party services rather than utilize separate apps is innovative, and certainly both Apple and Google are moving in that direction. I remember Touchwiz trying its hand at integrating FB into the contact list years ago, but it was superficial, and certainly nothing as innovative as being able to combine Twitter/FB with that contact, pinning it to your start screen, and getting updates from it.

The only thing new with the contacts in ICS is an official API that lets third parties plug in easier. Apps have always been able to dump info into the contact database. (twitter/facebook/linked/etc in if they choose to, instead of having to strike deals with MS for integration.)

Panoramic UI? That screen swiping was introduced in 2.1(maybe in 2.0) in the news and weather app.

Live tiles? You mean widgets?

As objectively horrible as webOS was, it would be disingenuous of dream to not concede that Palm pioneered the modern contacts aggregation thing that Microsoft calls the People Hub.

I haven't used WebOS extensively, but its not just dumping FB info or Twitter info into contacts that makes the people hub innovative imo, there is additional functionality that I mentioned, including the ability to isolate that contact in your start screen and have a "feed" of that person, or simultaneously sending them messages on their FB wall and Twitter from there (and vice versa), or starting a FB/MSN/text chat right from their contact page, interchangeably. And if all of that was previously on WebOS (I honestly don't know), then the similar integration of services in other areas, such as the pictures hub and the video/music hub, was innovative when the OS made its debut, even if it will increasingly become the norm now on other platforms.

And I could counter with bing audio integration with the zunepass.... the way it can seamlessly go listening to streaming is innovative. There are a ton of little things all these platforms can do that could be considered innovative.... zunepass on wp7 is one of those imo.

hubs in general I also call innovative.... how the picture hub automatically has your skydrive/facebook/etc pictures in there, how the office hub just has all your docs in there from skydrive/sharepoint, etc. Sure you can sorta get some of that functionality on android but its not even close to how well the hub's work.

Usually I hate leaks. This year is different, I am not really wanting to stay up that late for the presser...

But of course I will.

e: I'm so happy WP doesn't have a Smart Phone Projector combo.

lol, from the guy who defended Google's/Motorola's bullshit about the essential patents and spends his day in the android thread. Do you guys plan your day around trolling the Windows Phone thread or do you just magically happen to show up in here to make shitty posts?

Liked your posts in other threads but I guess you gotta join unkown moron and copernisuck on the ignore list. Otherwise I'm gonna get sick reading your guys posts where you play salty biscuit every time you think about the all mighty Google.

Are you retarded on your own or did CopernIsuck brainwash you?(rhetorical question obviously since I put you on ignore.)

Pocketnow expects will have a 5 megapixel camera, contrary to the rumours of a 3 megapixel version.

If it's priced cheap enough (take into consideration a Lumia 710 is £150 here) I think the 610 could well be a great asset for WP7 if they price it cheap enough, I'm thinking a very aggressive £99 price.

Lip reminds me of the Radar a bit, which isn't really a bad thing as although the Radar looked dire in the press shots I thought it looked reasonably good in the flesh.

It looks cheap, but $225 unlocked is not cheap.

Btw, where's the MWC 2012 thread?

Agreed, over here the Lumia 710 is ~$236 (direct conversion of price) so if the 610 is going to be $225 it's too much.

They need an aggressive price point of £99/$150 in by opinion to really get Windows Phone moving at the low end of the market, it'd be an easy win against the shite entry level Android devices.

No? I don't know a lot about pricing, but I was under the assumption smart phones unlocked are usually 400-600.
I paid about 230 for a new and unlocked Optimus 7 in December 2010. Sure, it was eBay and I got a bit lucky, but even then the normal price was about 300 for a non-crippled phone.

i was asking a serious question. or do you not have an answer?

With our platform hover around anemic 2%, it make you wonder why they are trolling. Are they still butthurt from Nokia deal with Microsoft? Need to prove that Google is better because they "do no evil" (what a load of bs since the company is just as shitty and evil as Microsoft).

Anyway, I am just tired of checking this thread for news and end up having to scroll through essay by Android fans or shitty remark by Cop and his cohorts.

its because they know they can't pull the same shit in the iphone or apple thread.

Oh, Coco is just as adorable in iOS threads. It's just that nobody gets bent out of shape about it because Apple users are confident, creative baristas.

Coco is adorable, so unlike the hyper intelligent nerdy Android types. He has a KIN right? He have a KIN studio page? Wasn't he in this?
