Virmire music is awesome. Never fails to get me pumped.
Partly why I always do it last.

Last night, a wrench was thrown into my plans.
Since all powers import into your ME3 character build, I now have a choice.
a) do everything to get to level 30, thus maxing my powers and doing my Mass Genocide run in New Game +
b) saying screw it and stick to the plan

Holy shit, really? Now if I redo a character after beating ME2...powers carry over into the new character right?

So I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to do the comic when ME3 comes out. I've replayed 1 and 2 so many times that I can't even keep track of decisions. Anyone else doing this?

It might be quite late here and I'm tired and not reading it correctly, but what exactly are you asking? lol.
What exactly were you original plans that you were going to follow through on and what is this Mass Genocide on NG+?
Sorry If I am just being dull in regards to the question.
I wanted a save import where all the majors died. Garrus, Tali, etc.
To see how it affected ME3's layout.
Is there a trainer or save game editor for the PC version of Mass Effect 2 that could essentially help me avoid scanning and all that boring business? (err, cheat)
I did all that, multiple times, in the weeks following ME2's release. Right now I just want to play through it again, play the DLC for the first time, and not deal with all that fat.
Gibbed's Mass Effect 2 Save Editor. Google it, there are some guides.
Ah right, duh, lol.
So the problem I guess is that you would have to play through twice to get two saves out the end of it to carry over, one with everyone dead and one max level with powers to continue as your main?
I like how you can hear the rachni's calls on Luna. I knew the moon was full of crayfish people.
Wait, what?
Partly why I always do it last.

No, my problem is that, in order to max my skills to level 30, I would need to do all the loyalty missions, so my real run would be the New Game+.
I was just asking if GAF sgguests I do that or just keep to my original plan and just do one run, ending up with whatever level and skills I end up at.
Does anyone know if you're still able to talk to the Council and get your Spectre status reinstated if you wait 'til after the Suicide Mission to visit the Presidium? (long question, I know)
If you have not visited Anderson on the presidium then I'd assume that cutscene would still play, no matter how late you are. Hmm, I wonder what would happen if you visit him after the suicide mission.
I've never actually tried that.
Anderson has a line about Legion if you ask him about worries about the Geth. But you can get that line even if you already talked to him.Originally I just wanted the Council to meet Legion. I guess I'll try it and see how it goes, hopefully there will be some new dialogue. (Probably not)

Always funny to bring both Tali and Garrus on the Citadel in ME2 and hear Garrus ask Tali about elevators and shit then she reply "I have a shotgun."
"...Maybe we'll talk about this later." - Garrus.
Yup. Some of the quips in Bio games are freaking wonderful.
Only DLC I bought was Shadow Broker.
Is Overlord and/or Kasumi worth it at this point, considering I've completed the game? Any implications on ME3?
2.
I can't stand 1.
Also bring Legion and talk to the security lady.
"Security is heavy to prevent geth infiltration" - Lady
"Geth do not intentionally infiltrate" - Legion
Shadow Broker, Kasumi, and Arrival all have some impact on ME3's story. Shadow Broker will probably be the only significant one, however.Quick question regarding the DLC. I'm thinking of only getting Shadow Broker, but do any tie into Mass Effect 3 in a significant way? If I don't get the Kasumi one, will she still have a role in ME3? This may be too early to tell.

Okay. So I broke and fell off the wagon and beat ME2 today. I figure I'll do Arrival the night of March 5th.
Everybody except Zaeed and Jacob died. Which was surprising, since I did Kasumi's loyalty mission. But then... when Mordin died (completely unexpectedly, btw, I had made sure he would survive).... that pissed me off. I was after that Harbinger asshole big time. Can't wait for his boss fight in ME3. I will avenge my Asperger's Buddy.
The extended fight sequence if you have no ship upgrades is amazing. It makes it seriously seem like a hopeless conflict that you need to win. The scene with Joker yelling "come on, you bastard!" as the Normandy went down the gullet of the Collector's Ship was great. It really brought back the ME1 moment where you realize that, yes, Joker really does know what the shit he is doing.
Do you guys recommend another ME2 playthrough with Ashley alive or should I just wait to see if the ME3 interactive comic will let me have her instead?
Is this confirmed to be in?
Hah. Its a shame that you don't really feel the struggle if you play through it like most people do, which is go do everything in your power to ensure that the final mission goes as smoothly as possible.
The first time I beat the game the only person who died was Kelly Chambers (melted into goo). Some of the crew deaths should be unavoidable, IMO. No fucking struggle in this game at all!
It's a shame that BioWare didn't go the Virmire route, where no matter what you do few crew members (even at least one) would die. Even though I didn't really like Kaidan I was really sad that I had to leave him there, dying. In ME2 there was no such thing, even though the whole game and PR campaign for it taunted the "suicide mission".
PR campaign was awful. "Shepard is dead!". Ugh.
