Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Dead game which is sad because it is one of my favorite franchises.
A combination of a lack of talent and mismanagement. Why is this problem so common nowadays?
Anthem was 2019 not 2022, so that was a 5 year gap. Pretty crazy for a company that has (or had) multiple studios.?
2014 - Inquisition
2017 - Andromeda
2022 - Anthem
2024 - Veilguard
You are right about anthem, it's still the same 4 games in a decade thoughAnthem was 2019 not 2022, so that was a 5 year gap. Pretty crazy for a company that has (or had) multiple studios.
Insane to think this was the same company that released 3 Mass Effect games, 2 Dragon Age games, plus some misc other stuff (Sonic RPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, etc) all in a single console generation.
It won't be pleasant.I'm not upset at Bioware for saying this, I'm upset at journalists for constantly asking them this question every few months, so that the public is reminded that the game is years away.
Please let me forget this so I can be pleasantly surprised years later.
It's real fucking simple, if the game director has pronouns you give it to someone else, if the game director has purple hair, you give it to someone else... How fucking hard is it for these multimillion dolla companies to see that putting political gender ideology into your games means it's going fail HARD, we've seen it time and again, ain't nobody wants to play a butt ass ugly female or a fucking they/them retard, just give us a Male/Female option and let the freaks cry about on Reeee whilst the rest of the world buys your game...I guarantee it's taking longer because every game Bioware has put out in the last 10 years has flopped, and they end up having to reevaluate each new project in development to try to change course to avoid that problem. Bioware magic never existed, and if it ever did...it's been gone since Andromeda.
Pretty much have no faith they'll make a great game again, so I get to be pleasantly surprised if they can prove otherwise.
yep this is turning into Perfect Dark 2.0 sadly.5 yrs of pre-production is insane. It'll never be released, "BioWare" will be closed sooner.
5 years since they anounced mass effect 5 so my math is okay i guess, the point is those studios can't produce shit these days and when they do well it's... Shit !?
2014 - Inquisition
2017 - Andromeda
2019 - Anthem
2024 - Veilguard
At least in the case of cancellation I wouldn't feel as bad since I wouldn't be hearing about it every few months. It won't be pleasant.
I hate to say it, as they were my favorite studio at one point, but Bioware is undead at this point and it's time to lay it to rest.
You know what to do EA.....and this time it's actually the right thing to do.

The ole boy's time has passed.....
"Soooo… I'm nonbinary"I can't wait to see Mass Effect version of barve.
it will likely be a 2030 - 2032 game.
Not sure if srs.Why people keep insisting this game is going to be bad? it's strange how people keep liking our hobby with no clue on what's coming. There are legendary devs who don't wanna show their faces just like there are real legendary world strongest men and women who don't wanna show their faces but the most important thing is they do exist.
Stop...announcing games.....early! Why they keep doing this!?
Yup, they had these reveals as a way to recruit people. In some cases, it's straight up so they can hire people for the project.
what has BioWare released in the last decade to make you think they're capable of making a new Mass Effect game? Have the legendary devs been sleeping since midway through the ME2 dev cycle when someone decided to cut the scope in half? Brother if these legendary devs were in their 30s and 40s during the BioWare golden age, they're pretty darn close to retirement. Why people keep insisting this game is going to be bad? it's strange how people keep liking our hobby with no clue on what's coming. A lot of people forget this aspect.what has BioWare released in the last decade to make you think they're capable of making a new Mass Effect game? In reality, Andromeda is looking like an absolute best case scenario with the people they have.
Aye. The average person has no idea the crisis that awaits us in the very near future.A lot of people forget this aspect.
Most of these devs in these legendary studios were in their prime age wise, 15 or 20+ years ago.
To be honest, a lot of the pioneers of the industry have aged out.
Replaced by overwhelming majority lesser talented, inexperienced developers.
The brain drain is a real issue in tech, generally speaking.
A lot of senior guys retiring without knowledge transfer.
Mass Effect 5 is "still in pre-production" says director of BioWare.

Mass Effect 5 was revealed in December 2020.
It's crazy how long it takes for games to release.
We got the whole Mass Effect trilogy in one gen, during the PS360 era.
If this ever releases, it will likely be a 2030 - 2032 game.
Those guys are getting up there in age man. When you write a design doc like Mass Effect, you're planning putting 15 years and half of your career into it. We need a new generation. I think the younger guys with gusto got blackballed by early. They didn't have the clout to withstand the HR onslaught like some of the seniors did, and they even ended up getting neutered and scattered to disparate obscure places. How long will BioWare's withered husk live on?
Kill the studio, get the OG vets headed by Avellone to rekindle Black Isle Studios.
