Christ, it seems like the kind of game I'd play for 3-4 hours and expect to be done.
Honestly if I find the time, I might do a run through on normal and skip all cutscenes I can and see how long it takes.

lol. for some reason, Asura's Wraith makes me wanna finish up darksiders. Asura really reminds me of War. A bit slow in the head... but can dish out damage when needed.
Same here, especially considering how short a lot of games are now. Don't want to watch 45 minutes of a 6 hour game.

I wouldn't be, it's immensely dull and unfunny. That and the Genkibowl stuff have really made me regret getting the Season Pass.

Asura's Wrath looks pretty cool. I think I'm going to pick it up once it drops in price, since 60$ seem pretty steep for a 6 hour game.

So I was thinking...someone ended up making a mod that converted Crusader Kings 1 save files to something Europa Universalis 3 can take in so you can keep going.
Inevitably someone's going to make one for CK2->EU3. From there you can keep the game going (assuming your game survives until the timeline ends) by converting the EU3 save into something Victoria II can load, and at the end of that convert it over to Hearts of Iron 3.
C'mon Giantbomb guys, Uber-Endurance-Run featuring Dave and Drew. Let's see if they can run the entire Paradox grand strategy timeline gauntlet from the Middle Ages to WWII.

heh. I think they should make a conscious effort to jump into gameplay right away and then spend a little bit of time in the middle of the QL (or end) to get into modes and extras.

Ryan's QLs usually start with the aforementioned 15 minutes of talking at a menu, his other option: showing off something 'fucking awesome', then pausing to talk about it for 15 minutes.
Man, they can't ever win with you guys.
Playing a game while keeping a conversation going is not easy, Ryan just wants to properly convey his thoughts before starting a run, so he can actually pay attention to the game.

I dont think this particular case is intense scrutiny (like, say, ER commentary
. its just, well, old fashioned criticism. nothing wrong with that. And no one is attacking Ryan or getting all flustered about it from what Ive read.
It just that he chose to start off the QL with a lot of menu screens and commentary. I dont think that was the best place to describe those features as it made the beginning of the video slower than it had to be. Not the end of the world but I think its a fair criticism.
00:00 - 00:14 Introductions. Could shave of two seconds easily.
00:00 - 00:19 until Ryan presses Start. 5 seconds in this could be done.
00:22 - 00:29 until he acknowledges Autosave by pressing X.
Look at all those faults within the first 30 seconds. Worst Quick Look ever. Premium membership canceled.
