Gotta be considered a disappointment within WWE, though obviously it could've been much worse.

Nah, it's respectable with the ratings the Daytona 500 got. Also, I think the second hour of RAW was right about the time Montoya's crash happened so people probably switched over to see that.

RIP WWE. In two years time when they're filing Chapter 11 we can point back at this as the end of wresting. They've managed to bury the last good name draw they had left. Bravo Vince.

If Mania doesn't have a buyrate through the roof, Vince will do another death angle.

They ruined Rock as a draw with that birthday shit and Survivor Series. Although, without the Rock on this show it probably would have drawn a 2.8 or 2.9 so he still helps some. There is noone else at this point they can bring back to pop a big rating. They've already killed Austin and HBK as rating draws too.

That makes no sense. If people really wanted to see a flaming carwreck that bad they would have just stuck around for Rock's promo.

Agreed. He should have just been coming back on TV now. He didn't need to do that birthday shit or Survivor Series.

Montoya's wreck was pretty bad. I'm surprised both him and the driver of the truck got out ok. It destroyed parts of the track bad enough they had to stop the race for about an hour.

Or people were tired of Rock's 20 minute long promo that hardly had substance and was just full of catch phrases.

That is probably not the reason though

hah more like people that were interested in seeing the rock got tired of waiting for him to come on. Show ran over like 18 mins last night.

Miz hit rock bottom in that video.

seriously nobody likes that whiner.

I used to be a Miz fan but yeah....that's about all he does anymore. He needs a new tag team partner because he seems to be only as good as whoever he's working with and Truth has moved on.

Saw this message on Twitter a little while ago and just wanted to point it out because it gets me every time I see something like it.

Someone's question for Shawn Michaels:

@KatyRooo: Do you ever watch yourself back on YouTube?"-- I do not.

He also has said on a number of occasions that he doesn't watch the TV shows unless Nash or HHH are on and they ask him to check it out.

He certainly can do whatever he wants. He's earned that right as much as anyone for the years spent on the road and the stuff he's put his body through. But I think one of the biggest issues in the industry right now is that most of the veterans have little to no passion for the business anymore and only show up because they're asked to appear or to collect a paycheck. Nobody is sticking around out of a love for the business and helping the young guys fulfill their potential and it's a damn shame.

Jim Ross is another guy that has been bugging me as of late. He always tells people on Twitter he's still employed by WWE and in search of good, young talents but he doesn't attend Indy shows or watch DVD's put together by guys with wrestling experience. What does he do? He recruits college football players that don't make it to the NFL -- the guys that typically only go to FCW because they have nowhere else to go and because there can be big money made in WWE. So frustrating.

Jim Ross has nothing to do with who they hire or fire anymore. That's all John Laurinitis.

I wouldn't put any pros in there. The Miz stuff was there to make Bryan look like a fool, or at least a poor attempt to. Plus, for the love of god, no Michael Cole.

Miz/Bryan was there to put Bryan over by giving him an easy target. Besides them Jericho/Barrett was the only other good pairing. Other rookie/pros were good but only due to the competency of the pro (like Regal or Punk).

I think they should just make the next season of NXT a Velocity style show and let Derrick Bateman be the GM.

That makes no sense. If people really wanted to see a flaming carwreck that bad they would have just stuck around for Rock's promo.

You do know the only reason Cena's promo worked was because Rock sold it like it was attitude era Stunner, right?

Miz got old pretty quick. It didn't help that he was cannon fodder for the Cena/Rock machine.

Though the "I'm Awesome" crap got old after a few weeks.

Spoiler for next week's TNA taping

ODB and Eric Young beat Gail Kim & Madison Rayne at tonight’s Impact Wrestling taping from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida to win the TNA Knockout Women’s Tag Team Championship. The match will air on next week’s show.

I thought Russo was to blame for all of TNA's problems lol.

I know, but JR still does recruiting for them and checks out FCW occasionally to see how guys are progressing.

My point is that he's focusing his attention on the wrong type of guys when looking for talent now. He's recruiting guys that want the WWE paycheck but have no passion for the business. We've seen enough of those guys in FCW in recent years to know how that's going to go. The only "football" guy I can think of that's worked out for them recently is Jack Swagger and he's different because he also came from an amateur wrestling background.

Call me an idiot, but I refuse to watch TNA, so fucking stupid question alert:
Eric Young's a dude, right
?!

Yes, although
these titles mean nothing so I'm not too mad about this. Atleast there will probably be some good comedy skits with him and ODB. Eric Young has been pretty entertaining since his stuff with Orlando Jordan a couple of years ago. He's like the TNA version of Santino

I have no idea who anyone there but Gail Kim is, but...am I correct in assuming that
ODB and Eric Young are, you know, men?

The worst part of the spoilers:
it reads like GM Sting is back. And they seem to be copying WWE's current GM storyline with him.

Yeah, but I can't quite imagine
Santino winning the Div... oh wait. Santina. Carry on.

If I could do a spoiler within a spoiler I would do so now, stating " I quite liked that storyline". I am truly a mark for Santino.

So, in the UK, when is Impact aired? How out of synch with the USA is it?

Sunday's on Challenge, I think. So three days late.

Impact is Sunday 9PM on Challenge (three days after US). PPVs are on the Wednesday after the PPV airs.

Challenge (www.challenge.co.uk)
IMPACT WRESTLING airs Sundays at 9pm, TNA Xplosion airs Wednsdays at 22.00 (unless during PPV week.)
PPVs air on Wednesdays at 22.00 to 01.00
Challenge channel numbers are: Sky #125, Virgin Media #139 and Freeview #46.

I think they air the same week as the US. This actually makes sense storyline wise in a way, because
ODB teamed with Eric Young in the tournament for a shot at the men's tag titles a couple of months ago that Magnus and Joe won

I'd hate to tell you this but wrestling is their job, and they're all there to collect paychecks. Who the hell wants to go on the road just to "help" some young guys out when they're (HBK, etc.) not even full-time or even part-time guys? You're delusional about the business man. It's just that, a business.
