You say that like I care about Eureka 7. lolMight as well, if you're going to be wrong you might as well go for a perfect record of wrongness!
If Natsu no Arashi is Shaft's secret best show, Hidasketch is Shaft's most consistently good show.Not even close.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 3
Son of a bitch. Son of a bitch.
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatte Iru 12 END
It's not often (if ever?) you see the afterlife portrayed in such a bureaucratic manner, nor would you expect something so absurd to be so incredibly moving but then again this isn't any ordinary show we're talking about here!
Thanks to the non-linear and unconventional format and how it really ties all the incredibly charming characters together, Soredemo was easily one of the most enjoyable and creative anime series I've ever seen. Every minute of this show was an absolute blast to watch thus making it easily best series produced by Shaft I've ever seen.

If you walk away changed forever, is it really you who walks away, or someone else?You might walk away from this, but you are forever changed as a person.
speaking of shaft...
Soredemo 11
josephine = soredemo/shaft
dog bowl = good sales
hotori = japanese otaku

That's not an ending. That's making shit up as you go along and that's some bullshit.
Damn it, Forester.

Too bad Mandoric has seemingly disappeared.

Isn't this actually somewhat common in anime? Though, I've never watched this series so maybe its more bureaucratic than normal, but
Anything that I can think of has a bureaucracy. Like Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, anything with some type of enma, etc. Is there an anime where there is no bureaucracy in death?
Woo, glad you liked it. For some reason I too felt it was really moving for me.Soredemo Machi wa Mawatte Iru 12 END

Still say it's a glorious train wreck everyone should experience.
Hidamari is good but not on Soremachi's level and Arakawa is a wretched everyday SHAFT show. Sorry!Hopefully Hidamari Sketch and Arakawa are of a similar calibre.they're not are they?
As of late it is totally true. Doesn't appeal to everyone but it rarely dips into being terrible tripe assuming you enjoy the show at all.
Hidamari is the pinnacle of widefaces, but is probably one of SHAFTs consistently good shows. I just like it, it's hnnggghhh worthy, Chiaki Omigawa is also in it (later season), and it's nice.

One thing that's impressed me about the P4 adaptation so far is how well Soejima's art translated. I'm only on the second ep so I haven't seen some of the more infamous dips in quality, but when nailing it, they actually frickin nail it, so to speak. Really cool.
What the hell. Even Pizzaroll?!
Yeah, it's surprisingly common. For some reason,immediately springs to mind, whereBleach.high-level shinigami do far more paperwork than actual death-god business
Do you feel doubt creeping in?
Shaft has only great shows. Even Popotan was watchable!

There's a thing called inconsistency that prevents this from being wholly true.Shaft has only great shows. Even Popotan was watchable!
Most pedo shaft show ever? Not even Nise has done a fully-naked-loli-dancing op (yet)*.What about Vampire Bund?![]()
Such is the path shaftfans tread.Somehow even a Soredemo love-in has lead us to this dark path we trod so often.

Actress Ayame Gōriki will play the heroine opposite actor Masaki Okada in the live-action television adaptation of Sakae Esuno's Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) manga this April. In the story of Mirai Nikki -Another:World-, 12 young people come into the possession of Future Diaries in which their futures are written. The 12 are forced to play a survival game and kill each other off.
According to producer Ryōta Fujino, Gōriki will play Yuno Furusaki, a new "Yuno" reimagined from the manga's female lead character Yuno Gasai. Like the manga Yuno, the live-action Yuno is one of the Future Diary owners, and she has a one-sided, stalker-like crush on Okada's male protagonist character Arata Hoshino (Yukiteru Amano in the manga). Yuno invariably shows up wherever Arata goes, and her beauty, blind love for Arata, and eccentric behavior belies her true intentions.
But who plays Minene? Yuno is just a boring yandere

Not really, but you'll still get a decent amount of laughs. Still worth your time.
Woo, glad you liked it. For some reason I too felt it was really moving for me.
Also, while neither show you listed is quite like Soredemo Machi wa Mawatte Iru, I really enjoyed the sense of humor and cast of characters in Arakawa (Chiaki Omigawa is P-ko) due to how varied they are and allt he quirks they have.
Hidamari is the pinnacle of widefaces, but is probably one of SHAFTs consistently good shows. I just like it, it's hnnggghhh worthy, Chiaki Omigawa is also in it (later season), and it's nice.
Yeah, I kinda figured they wouldn't be as good as Soredemo. I'll start with HidaSketch before checking out anything else by Shaft.Hidamari is good but not on Soremachi's level and Arakawa is a wretched everyday SHAFT show. Sorry!

I've been trying to remember what this show was called. Thanks!I fully support a Natsu no Arashi awareness campaign, even if it means everyone ultimately savaging it if we twist some arms into watching it.
... I didn't even remember any of that stuff until you reminded me. Seems like it would be a good time to re-watch YYH!Isn't this actually somewhat common in anime? Though, I've never watched this series so maybe its more bureaucratic than normal, but

who needs things like nuance when you can have this!The scene in the last episode whereis pretty amazing. The emotional impact is only enhanced by its understated presentation. It's such a contrast to the forced mix of melodrama and comedy in Angel Beats.Hotori uses the viewfinder too see her friends and family
it really hurts man ;_;
For my nakama, cosmic.
What you're missing is that they're all completely disfunctional in the first place. What kind of people randomly. That's something that a show like Gintama would make fun of and is not something to be glorified or reified. Heck, even FMA, a show aboutgrab a kid and adopt them in that creepy "call me daddy" kind of way?"didn't go that far.orphans
The whole show is about running... about not admitting personal or global truths. Ray and Charles are as much failures as Gekkostate, haunted by a past that ties them to an existence that they would rather deny but can never escape. In that sense, it's why what happened had to happen.
Most pedo shaft show ever? Not even Nise has done a fully-naked-loli-dancing op (yet)*.
I can't believe that show got licensed. Yet whenever I go to Best Buy it's right there on the shelf, scantily clad underaged vampire and all.
I'm not surprised that it was licensed so much as it was Funimation who licensed it. Why would a company known mostly for good, clean mass market fun ever touch that?
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Episode 03
Oh geez, I'm only five minutes in (including opening), and I think I can already see where this is going. Mami's accident was caused by Kyubey, Sayaka's love interest is going to be put into peril so she'll wish for him to live, and... I don't know what else yet.
OH MY GOSH EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW IS SO MANIPULATIVE. I haven't finished it yet, but it's clear my initial feelings of only being able to trust Homura is right.
Mami's fighting is still great to see.
HOLY CRAP MAMI IS DEAD WHAT THE?! Wha!? WHAT?!
Homura is now my favorite character. I just wish she'd quit pulling that bullcrap of "I don't want you to sign a contract, but I'll never just sit down and tell you why."
Looking forward to next week when they'll decide to make a wish to bring Mami back or something... : |
