The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

Why do we even have to have a reboot after Nolan?

Why can't Batman as a character be an absolute? Look at how Joker was handled in The Dark Knight.

It will be 7 movies starting with the first Tim Burton movie, the old tv show, several animated series, and decades of history. One of the top if not the currently iconic superhero character in existence.

People already know the premise of Batman, a person who can never let go of his parents death becoming one of the most important driving vectors to his psyche to be Batman, in which a new movie can easily give nods/flashback too without trying to set it up all over again. You can easily just jump right into whatever you want with Batman.

He could do location shooting of the Bat Cave from there.

Shane Black's quite a good choice as well, I don't know if they'd be any good or not because we know how awful the Schumacher films were, but they do need to be more like a comic book or I'm not really interested.

Daniel Day Lewis as an older Bruce Wayne/Batman struggling with crippling depression/insanity after years of being Batman. Basically a character introspection of the man behind the mask.

Directed by Lars Von Trier.

This is a movie that would never be made in a million years but I'd love to see it.

For me this is already the direction it should be going.

I want Daniel Day Lewis to be Batman entirely because I want to see Daniel Day Lewis go method acting as Batman.

Well for My Left Foot he apparently (help me out here Clegg) went round Dublin like that for months before filming and while filming, so imagine him method acting that for months, swooping down on people on the high street, throwing batarangs and getting arrested in nightclubs for headlocking people of Italian descent/or being Italian etc.

Awwwwesome

It would still kind of be a reboot even if you don't tell the origin story. It will be a new Batman in a new universe where none of the events of the Nolanverse have occured. I think maybe they should go for even more realism if that's what people want to see. Just have a guy in a cheap bat suit taking on the mob directly.

This brings me to my next casting decsion: DDL as Paul Walker's older brother in Fast Seven.

Nine was atrocious. There's no way that if I was DDL I wouldn't have taken method acting to the extreme and banged EVERY DAMN GIRL IN THE MOVIE (even the old one who I can't remember)

Apparently he remained in character for the entire time that My Left Foot was shooting. He stayed in his wheelchair the entire time and had to be spoonfed by the crew when he wasn't on camera.

He visited people in disabled clinics in Dublin before the film started shooting so he could understand the role better.

He's a completely mad bastard and I'd love to see what he'd do if he were cast as Batman.

Yeah I guess you're right. But I guess I meant not having to explain it all over again. Kind of like how Joker's original wasn't completely confirmed in TDR. With Batman, as an audience we already know more of him as a character, so they can just keep going forward.

I guess it's a soft reboot, instead of going all origin story again, kinda of like how The Incredible Hulk handled it as a sequel/reboot instead of a retread origin like they are doing with The Amazing Spider-man.

He broke his rib sitting in the wheelchair didn't he?

The best is him moving to Italy and making shoes during a sabbatical from acting, it's just wonderful that a fucking actor does shit like this.

Sculliwhateverthefuck I hope you work or are involved in the film industry otherwise I find your posts scientifically scrutinizingly analysis of said films and under a microscope shit, highly disturbing, but if you work in said industry - nevermind.

He did. He also trained to be a butcher for the part in Gangs.

It also boggles my mind that his house in Ireland is only 45 mins away from where I live.

I must stalk him.

Beg him to audition for the next Batman with Paul Walker as Robin

Fun fact: my mum used to live on the same road as Bono when she lived in Ireland.

I live in the southside of Dublin.

Does DDL not live in the Wicklow Mountains anymore?

Just outside Roundstone, so I heard. Near that Chieftans flute player (Paddy Maloney) - remembered his name (thanks wiki) had a pint with him anyway.

Spielberg should have quit at JAWS - CEOTTK was crap so was ET lol at AI and Munich was the hulk film in israel, lebanon etc
