So, not only did the owner know about it and tell them to stop, they completely ignored him. Payton also knew about it and did nothing.

I can't wait to see this punishment for this. I guess I actually will predict they lose all of their draft picks.

If I was Goodell, I'd give everyone involved a year-long suspension without pay.

Edit: Just read the part about the double/triple pay for playoff injuries. Wow.

Nope, your team can actually play on grass, have to respect that.

Saints are going to get hit decently hard, but Williams, Payton, and Loomis are going to get smashed. Williams will probably be fired (with cause) and blacklisted.
 
This stuff happens throughout the league in one form or another, but the NFL hasn't done a fucking thing about it for years. In typical NFL fashion they will make an example out of a team and pretend like they stopped it as soon as they discovered its existence. LOL

What's the big deal with bounties? I don't see what's wrong with it. It's not like they're going to stab these people, they're going to hit them, football style, while playing football. It's like getting a bonus for being the top seller in a sales job.

have specific allegations of money under the table ever been made in the past? I don't recall.
 
Tedy Bruschi on NFL Live is loving this after all the shit they took over spygate. Not that I condone it, this shit has been going on forever in football, it's just now everyone is concerned because of the concussion/safety issue has reached the mainstream media.

Not of this magnitude, but Jimmy Johnson called out Buddy Ryan for putting X dollars on a players head.

After the Niners game the Giants flat out said they wanted to take out Kyle Williams, pointed at his concussion history, not a single fuck was given. Giants didn't need extra financial motivation though, lol.

As far as I've heard so far about this, it's encouraging trying to injure other players. On purpose. That's pretty effin' shady.
 
You don't need to give players bounty money for big hits, just get players that are willing to lay their body on the line. Fuck the Saints. Paying players extra for injuring another player should definitely stay illegal.

Again, this shit has been going on for years and years both in college and pro (maybe to a less egregious degree). These players on NFL live right now are just toting the company line, even though I guarantee they've been a part of this type of thing. I mean RODNEY HARRISON, need I say more?

As the poster above said, this is the NFL singling out a certain team. They are under a lot of pressure from external sources with the whole concussion/safety issue, so this is just PR.

Giants didn't exactly hit Williams though, he kinda did all of his damage to himself.

I want my players to ALWAYS be trying to injure the other team. That's how they should play. When I played football, I was always trying to injure the other player. Shit, when I played soccer, I was always trying to injure the other players.

Goodell loves this shit. He'll make some dumb announcement about the punishment to show how hard ass he is and then burn the 50,000 pages in his lavish fireplace. He's like Vince McMahon.
 
I'd say put my name in for the Colts on the draft list thing, but we know they're taking Luck and they are already two people who said as much.
