I do enjoy playing utility Venomancer, and I love move speed. Got RoB, Magic Wand, Treads, Rod of Atos, took RoB apart and made Eul's, sold Treads and got Boots of Travel, grabbed Drums of Endurance to make up for the HP loss from Treads, and to give me even more move speed, and a Gem since Kunkka got a late Shadowblade. Was thinking about picking up Sange and Yasha so I could move even faster, but after 58 Minutes we were finally able to win. Went 6/6/27.

Rod of Atos' Cripple is simply great, and the tons of Int I got made it so OD couldn't do much damage to me with his ult (And the 9.8 Mana/Second made it so the mana burn wasn't to problematic) Mainly used Eul's on my self after getting in the middle of the fight to get my ult off, people would forget about me with low HP and I could just slink away to ether help out on the sidelines, or flee during the times all our carries died.

About to watch Sanjay run his push strat, should be a good one.

Results of Right click buildings:-

Game 1

Game 2

Game 1 we steam rolled, the power of Chen is to much with his healing power and creep pushing was pretty unstoppable.

Game 2 we had a woeful start losing bot lane Veno + DK vs SK + WD and mid Weaver vs SS. Changed things around and got back into right clicking buildings slowly..but we also did about every mistake possible and even then we still won.

He still WON'T get that dagger on ursa. >.>

Ursa really is the best hero to destroy buildings in the game. People who keep telling me to get PK on him are just simply crazy.

CRAZYYYY!

Question: Is there a common known bug where you can't left click for group select, maneuvering the minimap, checking heroes, or... well... basically anything that involved the left mouse button?

I seem to have gotten it three or four times now and I think it might have to do with spectating before going into matchmaking. Was wondering if this was known and/or if there is a good fix to it besides restarting the game.

The Defense's Grand Final format is flawed with one team getting a free win for being there first in the otherwise double elim tournament.

Should've played straight double elim with 3-game series, as it stands the two teams were tied (2-2) head to head (in this case, the outcome wouldn't have changed).

If they didn't follow that format, Quantic wouldn't even be in the grand finals. EG still loses. Navi still the champs.

someone in chat randomly said that during the last game, I didn't know it was IceFrog.

Said

IceFrog: and for that we are tripling the prize money.

Everyone was congratulating both NaVi and Quantic for sticking around after all the problems. Pretty sure it was true because no one called him an imposter and were thanking IceFrog.

too bad dota 2 will never have a day9 or tastosis though.
why not?

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

yes, that would be a bad thing. articulate personalities that can help new players understand the meta game? That can analyze the little things so that people can actually become better players?

hell yea, that'd be a bad thing. a game this popular would be great with those kinds of personalities. those kinds of teachers. the amount of instruction one can gleam off of a single webisode from either of those guys is significant, and worth money if you ask me.

I suppose I'd turn around and ask you why you think the Dota community--which will continue to get a large influx of players now that it's a Valve game and will be heavily supported--is better off without people of their mold?

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

day9 has helped build the starcraft 2 community into what it is today, and he's also a great well balanced caster. so yes, it is a bad thing.

see I didn't know that was actually IceFrog rofl.

The whole "there will never be a day9 of dota" was the case back during dota 1. Now with dota 2 and its ability to attract a broader audience, we can only wait and see. Who knows?

1.09 I didn't ask for your opinion.

get out of here.

Lol that fucking avatar.

Anyway no one really understands how DOTA works so there won't be a Day[9] of DOTA any time soon.

theres a reason we used to queue EU for free mmr

That's funny, Moonmeander and co said the opposite in regards to free mmr equating that EU > US.

On a team with Veno, Shadow Shaman and Leshrac you really think you're the best option for destroying towers? Also, Tiny is the best hero at destroying towers. :P

You need that one hero leading the charge, Ursa 100% guaranteed to have token and getting jumped on is no problem what so ever, and yes Ursa with Vlads + Overpower pretty good pushing power.

You have yet to meet the glory that is Lycan. Also saying Ursa is 100% guarenteed to get aegis means the enemy team isn't warding/keeping some kind of vision on rosh, which means its a buncha shitty pubs/low skill game. If that's the case, I can say naix is bzt pusher becooz he turn rage and every1 run 4 lyfe and he eat tower.

Ya, you can't put wards IN the rosh pit, so whenever I am ursa, I always just smoke and walk in. No one ever finds me.

You would have to keep sentries + obs wards up at all times, imo thats kinda hard.

There are just times this game is so frustrating you just want to quit so badly. Getting wrecked by a VS, Veno, and Juggernaut Tri Lane at top

Whenever I face a trilane, I just spam "tryhard" until they get tired of it.

Joindota really needs to implement some sort of spoiler control. Not only is there no system in places for VODs (so if there's two videos in a BO3 you already know who won), but they went ahead and plastered the winner of the grand final on the front page for everyone who didn't watch it live. Very annoying.

Not noticing when an Ursa goes off your minimap when you know he has a vlads (or close to it) and you know that rosh is up and then not checking rosh with one of the many vision spells available in the game? Ye, ok.

Again, I never said it wasn't easy for Ursa to rosh, (preferably with a 4 man push top to clear out space and pull enemy bodies into the lane) but claiming that its a 100% chance means you're in some pub games.

I thought that was you. you weren't that bad. buck up!

trilanes are trashy in dota anyway. I dunno why you'd try one unless you're pulling Funny Shenanigans.

they almost fucked it up and lost in the end. carries just couldn't quite pull themselves back up.

Just went 3-15 as Viper, I certainly did bad.

Also, final score 28/50 :/

Edit: First time I have been exposed to something so stupid too. Had no idea what to do.

There's not much you can do, but your team can. First priority is warding their creepspot so that they can't pull or stack. Then it's a good idea to ward to the right of the lane (you were radiant, right?) so that you can see ganks from VS and/or Veno coming.[ Then it depends. If you have a good sacrifice hero like Clock, QoP or WR, you just try to get your levels. Farm doesn't really matter at this point, but trying to equal the levels would be nice. Eventually, your team should win their lanes cause of them being outnumbered there. Then when the teamfights happen, hope that your team can pull ahead.

I think a day9ish kind of thing would be nice, as there are a lot of things you can improve upon as an individual, but it would be hard to make it appeal to everyone. High tier stuff is about working as a team of 5, as opposed to the individual game of starcraft.

I had a really long post here I ended up disliking.

That's the biggest truth, although I don't necessarily think that would stop a Day9-ish from being... successful, I guess, is the word I want?

Maybe we need five Day9s all working together.

Oh hey that brings a question to mind. Well, two questions.

1) Does sentry ward break smoke, or just reveal if someone's looking?
2) Does sentry ward reveal minimap icon, or only reveal the hero if the camera is on them? I feel like it reveals minimap icon, but I can't think of a specific instance to back up that feeling in my head.

Man if AA didnt get smoke ganked up top in game 1, milkman would have had to eat crow over badmouthing warlock.

Thanks, found it, but I think it's not IceFrog but a french caster and concerning the Defense.

To be fair, in game one of right click buildings I was playing Chen in their jungle, if they had bothered to gank me I'd have been a free kill. Considering I ganked three times from their own jungle they really should have used their head a bit..

Well obviously nothing is 100%

Also u don't just get vlads and leave >.>

I usually jungle for 5 min or so before I rosh, and usually wait for someone to die or a push to happen. that way if they have someone like clock he usually gets tired of shooting rockets.

Just saying in a case in which you don't get an agies, your still hurting the enemy team if they have to waste all their spells/time scouting you.

On the first one? I think they were too terrified after finding me, you and our bot lane all mouth breathing in the bushes, waiting for them.

Wildsoul & Warbeast right click buildings amazingly too. HoN names.

Always go into rosh with Smoke of Deceit, how do you counter that? You can't ward inside the rosh pit right? why is that?

Playing off the map Dota best Dota, and what you want to do is tell your team to push some tower or just attempt to and that's when you Decite up and take rosh. The other team has to decide to defend tower or rosh. I mean sure if they defend rosh like hell your still going to win every other lane and towers so its still win win.

And if your on the Dire side, checking is very costly and if its there whole team checking constantly they are all not farming or getting exp so its not really worth it.

Ultrabum gets the gist of it, you can rosh when ever you see a good opportunity.

Seems this Fnatic tournament is running on 6.73, could be interesting to see the later games.

Ok, since it's pretty apparent you're not understanding, I'll break it down easy for you.

Always go into rosh with Smoke of Deceit, how do you counter that? You can't ward inside the rosh pit right? why is that?
This was already discussed, and like I said earlier, if you're playing a good team, they'll be able to pocket check u and have a general feel when you're going to rosh, and probably set up extra parameters. A pair of sentries cost 200 g, while a Rosh for the enemy team gives them 1300g. Pretty easy math right there buddy. Also, powershot, wave of terror, treants, scout hawk, veno wards, and many other spells available to commonly picked heroes can easily scout out rosh.

You're honestly just restating what I already pointed out, and I've already discussed how this is probably your best bet at getting into rosh and getting out safely. However, do know that they'll probably notice "hey, ursa isn't in their team. VS/WR/someone else who can easily scout rosh go check, and carry tps" Yes Sanjay, if they have TPs they can easily respond to either you roshing or your team pushing. Surprise!

And if your on the Dire side, checking is very costly and if its there whole team checking constantly they are all not farming or getting exp so its not really worth it.
Dude, 200g every 6 minutes isn't "very costly" and it reaps its rewards if you can keep Ursa out of rosh. Also, just designate one fucking hero to bot lane, and have everyone (or at least 2 heroes) carry a tp, and Ursa cannot rosh, and will probably get killed and/or aegis stolen if he tries.

Get over yourself, Ursa isn't as great a hero as you put him out to be. He's just a right-click hero who can go vanguard and can (but shouldn't) jungle. I'm glad you found your calling, but stop trying to glorify him into anything other then a pubstomp hero.
