Jeremy Lin: Asian American, Harvard Grad... NBA great?

I mean when he gets his renewal at the end of the season, he's getting bumped up to the league average.

Well that's the max that teams can offer him. It remains to be seen if he'll get that much. He doesn't seem to be doing so well now that scouts and teams have figured out his tendencies.

Teams took a few games to adjust to him, presumably he'll take a few games to adjust back. He's not playing as well now, but he's not awful, and with all the other teams gunning for him, that could leave blindspots for his teammates to exploit so he has value as a big target if nothing else.

I'd say his games against Miami and Boston were awful.

I have tickets for Linsanity next week.

Against the SAT cheater?

Yep.

I have a feeling Carlos Boozer will somehow find a way to cost the game for the Bulls.

Rodrigue is only paid $1.2 million, if he can outplay future-$5 million Jeremy, he deserves at least $5 million when his contract is up.

I'm sure he will from someone. Probably not the Mavs though since he always ends up on the bench.

The Knicks need to get rid of the Melo cancer if they're going to keep Lin.

Knicks and Lin are playing crappy. Lin came out and beat a bunch of teams but now all of them are prepared for him, I guess that's what separates good players from great, whether they can figure out how to get things done despite increased pressure and changing conditions. The other person I like on this team is Baron Davis, always been a fan, he is a lot more steady and can get chemistry going with his unit. Lin, Melo, Stoudemire, and the other guys have no chemistry at all and Lin is having a hard time figuring out what to do. It was a lot more fun watching this team when they didn't have any of their major players. Also you people are still complaining about his sudden burst of fame, lol.

Bobcats don't want him. Take that to the left.
So what's the deal, was his streak a fluke? Is he turning out to be an average player?

It was no fluke. Guys come out of nowhere and play great for short stints all the time. He just blew up because a) Asian American b) NY c) great underdog story. He's still a decent player, which I've always said, but all that best point guard in the league nonsense? Naw. Nowhere close.

Can I just say, I called this shit not working for the Knicks when the Melo trade happanede. NBAGAF needs to treat me like a prophet at this point.

Damn near everyone in NBAGAF called that shit... We're still waiting for Demar Derozan's breakout season though.

He needs to learn how to go left. It's like there's a force field in his direction.
He needs to learn how to play point guard without the ball in his hands, how to not dribble into traffic with no plan, how to defend anyone, how to see traps coming before he's pushed back to half-court, how to freeze out Melo and JR, how to throw up a bad shot or give to someone else instead of outright giving the ball away, and also go left.

Eek...that too.

If you knew anything about basketball you wouldn't be saying that. Lin KILLS IT with intangibles!

Who was saying that seriously? I think you guys all got trolled and you're still salty about it.

Go through this thread and get back to me. Trust, we were laughing waaaay harder at this thread than anyone outside of the NBA thread really know or appreciate.

So humble.

Lin gonna regret some of that premium puss he denied in his Linsanity days. Same groupies are gonna give him delayed text message responses a year from now. Smh

I was reading this thread and I think the NBA-gaffers were trolled as much as they were trolling, actually. Though come to think of it, my usual rule of thumb is that people who say idiotic things on the internet are almost definitely just idiots, not trolls, so I dunno.

BTW, if Carmelo gets just six points and people blame the loss on Lin, he really has become the most important guy on the team.

I predicted Jeremy Lin would settle into being a decent rotation guard, spot starter type. People who were ready to throw him with the great, let alone elite PGs in the league were crazy. It was a bunch of things coming together for a 7 game stretch. Lightning in a bottle.

They are playing the Spurs today, I think. The Spurs are still a good team right? Don't see how the Knicks have any shot at winning unless they have some good luck, guess it will be three losses in a row. :(

I'll be there! Hopefully it won't be a blowout. The bf roots for the Spurs though, so it wouldn't really matter to us which way it goes :lol

They got a good thumping. I didn't watch so I'm not sure how Baron played in comparison to Lin but I'm presuming neither did all that well. Honestly I'd say just go back to the old starting line up and get rid of Melo and Stoudemire. I still don't think they'd win against any major teams, they may even do worse, but at least I'd enjoy watching them play. Right now these guys have no chemistry.

My advice for the New York Knicks in order to end their losing streak:

"To go north, you must go south. To reach the west, you must go east. To go forward you must go back, and to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow."

Get someone to hurt Carmelo.
