Seems like Apple is on a tick tock cycle with the ipad like PC CPUS.

We got the new model with Ipad, then the improved model in Ipad 2. Now we have the new model again in Ipad 3 (HD), and next year will have the improved version!

The gpu is, the question was whether they would make the CPU quadcore. They wouldn't really need to though as ios is basically a single tasking os. There was no doubt that they would have to upgrade the gpu considering the resolution gets quadrupled.

The 4X tegra 3 in graphics a sounds like a bit of hyperbole though.

Sticking to a WiFi iPad this year. I never use my iPad out and about where a cell signal would be needed. That's what my phone is for.

Tegra three looking mighty cold down there

To be fair, it's an 'old' design using the same die size as Tegra 2. The next gen hitting this year will likely be quite comparable. If you look at the roadmap, the jump is pretty big.


As usual though, Apple is beating the competition to the punch here.

its not hard, iPad only sold that much because the average consumer doesn't even know anything else, and right now android is a HUGE mess, there isn't really any competition against iPad right now.

You can just compare Vita benchmarks to Tegra 3--they are using the same GPU as Vita.
