By the numbers normally suggests an update you'd expect, nothing special. Having a screen with a higher resolution than their 27" imac - on a 10" tablet - is not something I'd call 'by the numbers'.

I don't see how the fact that the resolution is higher than a 1080p TV is "marketing crap" since it's a fact. But whatever. And the Xbox and PS3 technology is 6 years old. It's a given that graphics technology has come a looooong way in that time. It's not unbelievable that an iPad 3... er new iPad could have better graphics and processing than 6 year old game consoles.

The resolution is one thing but I want to see a proper graphical comparison before I award the "most powerful console" award to the new iPad. I think we've all learned to be weary of conference marketing talk at this point, not just Apple's.

Upgrading from iPad 1 32GB WiFi. I'll be going with Black 64GB WiFi.
Black because it's better to focus on the screen.
I didn't run into any storage limits on my iPad 1, 64GB will hold me off nicely until iPad5 i hope.
Hardly have a use for a data plan since wifi is in most places I use my iPad, plus they're limited and expensive.

Absolutely, I think it's far to early to say it's most powerful console and everything else is doomed, It has a huge resolution but I think it's more of a wait and see.
