As for crafting, I don't see why anyone would think it needs an overhaul. It fixes all of the bullshit problems of current crafting systems such as 15 min to smelt ore, a discovery system for finding new recipes which is FAR more entertaining than paying some guy for the same exact recipes everyone else has, no node ganking due to instanced nodes, no crafting failures and a flat XP system rather than the you may or may not get points system, oh and stuff you craft is worthwhile to you right off the bat, not only down the line, then you have complete control over the stats you put onto gear through inscriptions, and crits don't give you better versions of gear, but bonus xp and/or a refund on crafting mats.
They've made crafting fast, unobtrusive, and organic where you obtain a lot of materials from just being out and about and the nodes look pretty damn plentiful with no gathering restrictions. LoTRO's crafting grind made me want to punch something and AION's made me want to kill something, so I'll gladly welcome a more streamlined system that actually allows for full customization of the stats I see on items.
