but I could live with Flynn.
Lost in all of this? Mark Sanchez just signed a 5 year extension with the Jets.

Washington Redskins traded three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick to St. Louis for second overall pick in a trade first reported by @JayGlazer.
Brian Costello ‏
He has an additional $10M in potential escalation so the maximum value of the 3 new years is $50.5M and over the whole deal is $68.25M. #nyj
Wait 3 first round picks? Shit Rams just got a bounty for that pick. It could be worth it for the Skins if RG3 is a stud. Either way good deals for both teams, surprised it was done this early in the off season though.
I prefer a QB with future potential, not clinging to past glories.

The Sanchez deal:
With minimal draft picks now Shanny and Allen need to get their shit together and start making them count. Also Danny needs to open his wallet for some young FAs to complement RG. Mike Wallace please? This team needs a young WR bad.

I'll take 2 to 4 years of 80% Manning over most of the current QBs in the league.
Wow what a waste. I like RG3 and he seems like he'll be good but that's way too much to move up two spots. :/
Hope he can score us a lot of points because our defense is going to go downhill real fast without an infusion of young talent those picks would have given us.
Hey in the NFL, you never know what's gonna happen, for all we know Flynn could be a bust and Manning could return to glory! Besides I just want to get excited about my team again.

AND a 2nd!! I hope all those idiots back in the district who whined about "Snyder signing old free agents who have nothing left" are fucking happy now. Fuck!My God... Three first round picks... Three? Please don't let that be true.
Four neck surgeries in the past two years. He'll never be at 80% again.
The Redskins organization and fans who have to endure another 5 years of mediocrity because they don't have any draft picks to build a team with.Ross Tucker ‏ @RossTucker
No such thing as giving up too much for truly elite QB. If he's not, everyone's getting fired anyway so who cares?

Are you a doctor?
I bet Peyton looks fine this season. This smells more of saving money than anything else.
2, 4, still too much. I'm happy for the kid, he seems like a good guy with potential, but he just got a shitload more pressure dumped on his shoulders today....you moved up 4 spots, not 2?
My God... Three first round picks... Three? Please don't let that be true.
It's not 3 firsts. That's the wrong way to phrase it. To switch picks in the first round this year, the Redskins gave the Rams #1s in 2013 and 2014, plus their #2 in 2012
So the Skins #2 this year, and their #1 picks in the next two years, just to drop down 4 slots? Yes, please.

Supposedly CLE was offering 3 #1s as well, but I wonder if that included the extra #1 for this year

Was Ryan Kerrigan a fuck up? Or Trent Williams? You could argue Williams has been injury prone but he's pretty damned good when he's in the lineup. They would have fucked up the picks anyway.
I'm not a doctor, I only play one on GAF, but neck problems like that would make me pause if I was a GM.
Yea you draft a top 1/2 QB only when you have a top 3 pick. Eagles, McNabb. Giants, Eli. Redskins biggest curse has been being mediocre instead of being the worst team. Sure you can trade up if you're only a few spots away, but not like this.....not like this...Ross Trucker with a solid if sort of short sighted point:

The Pats have spent the last 5 years blowing draft picks and they've remained successful. Why? Because they have a franchise QB and good coaching/system, plus thu have drafted okay in the later rounds. Having no first round picks doesn't make it impossible to add young talent, just harder. If we don't make this trade that just means we keep going 5-11 and 7-9 every year anyway.
