Don't care if you get banned/flamed but I love you forever.
This would bother me a lot if I were in your shoes. I had just read the 'unconscious wife' thread, though, and somehow a kitten's death didn't resonate with me whereas it normally would. My bad.

Dechaios, just let her say something or let it go. I you've come to the conclusion she inadvertently smothered, your parents probably have, or will, to. All of you throwing it in her face, when she knows that's what or may have happened, when help no one, and just make her feel all the worse.
If you are worried about it eating away at her, then you and your dad should take the body to a vet and have them determine what killed it. Maybe she did, maybe it was something else, but at least that way she would know. Again, that's only if it seems that it could become an issue with no being able to let go the notion that she was responsible.

Like the other poster stated. I just read the thread about the poor fella whom his wife is unconcious and on a breathing machine.
And you come here for support not for your sister, but for yourself. About how broken and destroyed you're because the cat of your sister died. And how you and the rest of your family are mad at her and blaming her. I fear the worst when a member of your family dies, i have no idea how you'll handle that.
But you might be one of those guys who care more about a cute kitten getting hurt than genocides and whatnot.

I made this thread last night when I was emotionally reacting to it. I'm done. I was last night. GAF turned it into a big fucking joke and I just want all of you to drop it instead of trying to turn it into some weird issue that isn't even there in the first place. Here's why what happened happened.
The story is about a little animal being crushed. The picture you chose to use illustrate the victim also showed us that the perp was overweight. That detail is somewhat pertinent to your questions in the first post. Pretty much everyone reading the thread made that connection even if they haven't admitted to it.
I am sorry for your loss, but there is no mystery here, nor any conspiracy to induce thread backfires willy-nilly. Take it from me, you have to be very careful when posting about sisters.

Something very similar happened to me about 13 years ago. I found a feral kitten near my house and brought it in. Three days later I woke up and found it dead in my bed. I'm still not really sure what happened, but it haunts me to this day.
I can't imagine I smothered it. I'm not a deep sleeper and I wasn't using any drugs or alcohol at the time, period. Was more fit and physically active than at any other point in my life. It just happened. It was sick when I brought it in - it kept throwing up - but I can't help but feel guilty all the same.
Anyway, I'm sorry for your situation. Wasn't planning on posting this but it seemed needed. If you really want a lock you should pm a mod, that's the best way.

My exact thought. You're reaction just seems so over the top in comparison. Certainly not the feel-bad thread of tonight and it's not a competition anyway.
Also, the kitten does not look healthy in that pic. The deformation is one thing but the fur looks bad which is usually a bad sign.

That's how persian cats look.
It's hard to tell but the fur looks like it's in a bad condition. Could be the lighting though. I also know that the head shape is breed specific, still it can cause health problems.

Yeah the early mortality rate with some breeds is pretty high due to their genetic issues.
