Yeah, I think it would have at least tried to scratch furiously before dying. It probably happened due to illness or maybe because of something it ate the day before.Humans have some evolutionary trait where they are generally able to sense what is around them enough in their sleep to not crush an infant. And the struggle...I don't buy your serial crusher theory.
Eh are you people saying that you can't crush/suffocate small animals in your sleep because it's not uncommon. Even babies get killed this way. Some people sleep like logs, I personally would wake up to the smallest of sound/sensation, but my gf for example wouldn't wake up if I put the lights on and started to watch TV in the room.
Come on.
Maybe if your tv scratched and struggled for dear life she might though?
A one year old baby and a one year old cat are vastly different, though.Eh are you people saying that you can't crush/suffocate small animals in your sleep because it's not uncommon. You were there to see in which position the cat was and whether it had time to scratch and struggle?

Better make it a party of three
It's okay, we just gave a voice to everyone else's thoughts.
Stop walking on eggshells, we have a Cat murderer here. Would you still be defending her if it was a baby? 'Cos that shit can happen.

Yes I am saying that. Of course there are rare exceptions, but humans do not do this. There's a reason you don't roll off the side of your bed every night. Cases of infant death when cosleeping are more commonly due to getting tangled in sheets, trapped by the headboard, or involve a parent who was drinking or on drugs.
A sober person will not roll over and crush a small baby or pet. And in this specific case, unless she is very obese I'm quite sure the cat would struggle enough to wake her up. Unless of course, she was drunk or on drugs. I'd bet the cat died naturally.

Come on, credit where credit is due.
