How bad is boozer though? I've never really followed him in the regular season. Only playoff games his been in.
In the regular season, he's fine. He's currently at about 16 ppg, 8 rebounds (playing with Noah), 53% shooting (compared to Amar'e's 40%) all in just 30 minutes. His defense is bad, but better than Stat's. His contract is also much more reasonable than Stat's. He's also a good passer who can shoot free throws.

Boozer is a good player, but somehow he never has an impact when it matters. He is a solid passer for a big, can hit the long 2, score in the post a bit, and all.

But when have you ever walked away from a game and said "fucking boozer, he killed us tonight."

Watched the Lakers torch his ass every fucking year. Lamar would be a 25/13 career player if he always went against Boozer.

No one is arguing that he's better than Pau. I just think Laker fans are overrating what they can get for him at this stage of his career, considering his contract.

Korver has been pretty good on defense lately. His time with Thibs has done him wonders.

Korver is not the most skilled defender there is but he usually holds his own in that he's not a complete liability there.

He plays hard on defense and moves decently there but if the other team is on the break, people should take notes from the Master of the Intentional Hug/Foul.

but Boozer's contract is worse and he's a worse player...

Makes no sense. Lakers want to get better without adding long term salary...

My underlying question was do you take the downgrade at PF from Pau to Boozer to gain any combination of solid PG/three point shooting/depth/etc.?

Laker fans seem to think not, more important to keep the superstar. Try to get Sessions for picks or sign Arenas. Or both.

How? What team with a great PG would be willing to trade for Pau?

I don't know. Which is why they shouldn't trade him

Sorry, but CJ Watson upgrade over Blake or whoever minutes he takes is not as big as the downgrade from Pau to Boozer.

And a worse contract...

Don't forget the contracts. Boozer's is really fucking bad.

and I don't like Korver much. Or Watson.

Yeah, I see it as more of holding the fort(downgrade but not terrible replacement) or something at the position but the other guys in a possible deal being the real value.

That is nothing compared to the lakers playing the greatest defense in the history of the NBA and only fouling on 2 of those attempts. I don't care if a lot of them were jump shots that shit is mindboggling especially on the road.

Get over it already. The Lakers average 23 FTA a game, and they had 24 by the end of 4th, it's right around their season average.

So what do you expect the refs to do if the Lakers don't foul jump shooters or when the Grizzlies hit one of their many put back rebounds? Make up phantom fouls to make it a bit even on the FTA?

If you have evidence that the Lakers blatantly hack the Grizzlies without being called, show us the gifs. Otherwise please stfu.

I'll give you the blown clear path foul, but that's it.

That argument is fine. I'll buy that. Though, I do think you are really underrating Watson. Your point on contracts. Boozer's contract is a year longer than Pau's, but you probably won't be able to get a better 4 during that year anyway. Remember, Boozer's contract also expires right when Love's does.

i felt so sorry for the refs on that video review.

That call was so, so hard to make. Nene and JJ's hands left the ball at the exact same time. I'm just happy something like that didn't happen in the playoffs.

I want to say Portland is the biggest disappointment this year but then I am reminded that the New York Knicks exist.
