If you are going side lane solo: Buy 2 stacks tangos, ring of protection, 2 branches (will turn into meka), 2 claritys and ask if someone can get you a stack of wards (even though it might be hard to get somone to buy it for you if you don't play with friends). Then you buy basilus, phase boots, meka and force staff. After that you can get items depending on what your team needs, but hex is a safe pick.

what's a good setup for a dps Invoker?
Exort + Quas + Heart + Deso + Morbid? something like that?

for survivability. I saw it in a few guides. not the morbid, but the heart. heart + assault curiass. all exort and quas. no wex until like level 15, with a focus on the forged spirits.
If you are Q/E initiation items and a BKB are good. Blink and/or Force Staff are good, especially for setting up ice walls. I guess Heart would be good for survivability. MKB or Deso are good offensive items. Deso plus Forge Spirits will melt armor. Also Treads over Phase Boots.

yea, in one of my recent games I was amazed at how well the BKB+Deso was helping Invoker survive vs. 3 hard carries 70 minutes into a match. I melted 2 and almost got the 3rd just standing there with my forged spirits and BKB popped. I don't know if I'll want to try a near-pure Exort invoker again soon (tornado+emp seem so much more valuable to the team...and plus, the team just comes to expect that from Invoker and may not function well with a different style of play. But if I do, I'll definitely go with your thoughts. Treads + BKB + Force + Deso + Heart. Seems fairly affordable.

I think Force Staff is core for WR, even if you go DPS. (if no one else on your team is getting one) Apart from that I agree. WR is one of the most fun heroes to play I think.
I don't care what people play, if I did I'd all be trying to force you to play Midwars. Besides I almost never get on Mumble anymore because I think some people are total dicks on there.
MM starts from about 9pm GMT onwards.
