Any news on when The Hunger Games comes out? I've seen a few screens and the logo and stuff, but I'm anxious to actually download it!

Dammit! Empire of the Eclipse has been rejected by Apple. Apple seems to have taken issue with their subscription model but hopefully they can find a solution somehow, I thought the game looked really cool
From the sound of things they seem to have gone for a magazine esque sub model instead of an IAP for X months game time type of model that the MMO Order & Chaos has been using for a year. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for them to re-tool their model to suit.

I live in Toronto. I had only ever seen song download cards until last week I believe? Grabbed Snapseed and then on Monday, I saw they'd just stocked Tetris cards. Grabbed a handful.

Alright, a buddy of mine asked if there are any iOS games inspired by Portal. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but the collective mind of iOS-GAF should be able to give me a yay or nay to the question.

Does your friend have an iPad? Incoboto is a very clever adventure/puzzle game that reminds me more of Super Mario Galaxy than Portal but it also uses portals frequently in puzzles!

what a weekend.
we decided to make our game "Nosferatu - Run from the Sun" for free on friday, just to check out what happens and gather some experience. I guessed we'd make about 1k-2k downloads, as always, pessimistic to the bone.
but WTF, we are still ranked in the Top 5 of all apps in Germany and people all over the world downloaded Nosferatu over 100.000 times. not only that, but people love the game, 4.5 - 5 iTunes ratings everywhere. seems we got some things right.
we'll stay free for at least another 5 days and try to gain momentum in other countries.
that said, Nosferatu was developed with a very limited time frame in mind. we did away with many good ideas from the original concept, because we just hadn't the resources to do otherwise. but now things look different. we started working on updates right away: achievments, new character looks, more backgrounds etc. etc.
if you haven't already, take a look at the game: it's free, so no harm done if you do not like it. click at Nos and he'll take you to iTunes!

Kingdom Rush and Incoboto spring to mind straight away.
Incoboto is awesome and just came out, play with headphones! Kids vs Goblins and Squids are also highly recommended. I feel like most iPad exclusive games become Universal before long. I can't recall any others right now.
Edit: If you like strategy then Ravenmark is a must if you haven't played it yet.

Not really the same idea, but Continuity 2 is a really clever 2D platformer that has you shifting mismatched tiles to get to the exit. It's a little tough to explain so just look it up

What's the release date for the new Infinity Blade?
Hold off until we know which games will support the native resolution of the iPad 3. I reckon most games won't look that great unless they're updated, so beware.
Just checked out Kingdom Rush, that will be my first game purchase this Friday then! I love tower defense.

Well, I wont be buying anything till I have it anyway. I just want to compile a list of some games that look interesting. Plus im sure most stuff will look fine on it anyway, retina support or not.
Its true that a lot of iPad only games end up going universal/releasing a new app, but there are some like, Machinarium, Drawn: The Painted Tower, and Small world to name a couple that I want to play.
and now I will add Kingdom Rush, Incoboto and Ravenmark.

I am totally grabbing this tonight. I try to make a list of developers to support, especially from GAF!

I feel the same way. I don't think it's just one of the best iOS games of last year-it's one of the BEST GAMES of last year, period. That studio is incredibly talented. I've said it before-out of any game announcement on any platform for any genre-I would be most excited about news about new Content or a Sequel for Kingdom Rush. Amazing game.

EDIT: Hope it would be at least $15. But then again, I'm not surprised it's so expensive since this is Square-Enix/Taito.
The issue I have with the first game is simply that it's a 2D platformer that basically scrolls at 20 fps. It's choppy looking in motion as a result.
The sequel, however, moves at a smooth 60 fps and feels *MUCH* better as a result.

Bummer. I already paid for LoE1 though. It's still awesome but I think I'll just grab LoE2 somewhere down the road when it's cheap again.

Not disappointed, expected this. Performance of DDPR clearly showed they were not going to be able to deliver an HD version that runs smoothly on iPhone 4. Game will probably rock on 4S and above though!
