Deron is pretty terrible defensively, but he's far less terrible on defense than Melo and is legitimately a star on offense (which Melo definitely isn't) so the Knicks would be way better.

Let's do it. Let's go full on carnival of stupid.

Looks like it's time to bring this back.

Awesome anti-Melo rant on Grantland.

The really painful part of this is that most of us knew this was a mistake before the Knicks made the trade. (Donnie Walsh knew it, too, which is why he’s no longer with the team.) The truth is, the anger I feel toward Carmelo is really anger that should be directed at owner James Dolan. If ‘Melo is Paulie, then Dolan, to continue the Godfather analogy, is basically Fredo, if Fredo were twice as stupid and three times as jumpy. When Fredo panicked, all he did was fumble the gun, sit down, and cry. Dolan would’ve accidentally fired it, hitting his father another couple of times in the back, before running away and hiding.

Yes. YES.

Deron is a better leader than Melo but it doesn't really matter considering Amare is the worst contract in the league right now.

It's amazing to consider the fact that the Rashard contract in its prime was a better contract than Knicks Amare.

It's truly one of the best days on BESTgaf out of the entire year.

Finals > WCF/ECF > Trade Deadline = 2nd round of playoffs > 1st round of playoffs > First week > Off season > Middle of season

I don't doubt you.

This Dwight thing is going overboard. How can you be so indecisive? I mean, you don't even need to be a drama queen at this point because the team is ready to let you go if you want to and he's saying "hehehe... maybe not. I don't know. Should I get Pepsi or Coke?"

I'm surprised Howard isn't getting more shit for that whole mess.

It's starting to bite him. Today's been hilarious.

"Howard tells or doesn't tell teammates, 'I'M ALL IN... on whatever I've said I'm all in on for the day. Which will be totally freaking different tomorrow.'"

Remember how it's always said "When the Knicks are relevant it's better for the league"

Oh yes it is....depending on what kind of 'relevance' we're talking about

i cant see the lakers getting any good trades.

really wish we could get deron or rondo but that will never happen.

I think the Lakers should stop trying to get a good PG...there aren't any PG's available that give the Lakers what they need without gutting their team.

You can dramatically increase your benches scoring ability by adding guys like Nick Young and Beasley with a single TPE/1st rounder and probably get to the finals with that.

For the love of God, can we have a Steinbrenner buy the Knicks? Or any owner willing to be all about winning as the driving force of making money? Please? :(

If Bulls aren't gunning for Ray Allen, then they should try to help get Deron to LAL, for Pau. They have the assets that NJ would want.

AlexKennedyNBA
Regardless of what Dwight Howard said during meeting with teammates, source close to Howard said he informed Alex Martins that he'll opt-in.

Has anyone ever gone from "top 5 in MVP consideration" to "borderline scrub" in the span of 15 months before? TMac from 07 to 08?

Finals > Conference finals > 2nd round > 1st round = trade deadline > last 2 weeks > lottery night > draft > first 2 weeks > All-star weekend > middle of season > off season

I'd argue that the 1st two weeks of the season are worse than the off-season. Off-season has either the olympics or world championships every 2 years and if not that then you get to see some fantastic street ball and pro-am games that are surely better than the 1st 2 weeks of the NBA.

If Dwight declines his ETO and then Orlando explores trades for him anyway, nobody will blame them a bit. Hell, they'll be able to get a lot more. Bulls would probably be back in talks. Better to rent him for at least two postseasons.

Don't project your Wizardness on the entire league.
