I'd argue that the 1st two weeks of the season are worse than the off-season. Off-season has either the olympics or world championships every 2 years and if not that then you get to see some fantastic street ball and pro-am games that are surely better than the 1st 2 weeks of the NBA.

What? No way. During the 1st 2 weeks you get to see players on new teams (all the speculation from the offseason gets settled), including rookies. Plus there are the opening games, which always have drama, especially with rings handed out.

The first half of offseason is invariably better than the second half, where everyone is just begging for it to end. But it never compares to the excitement of a new season.

Hmmmm, you get a backup for Deng, move Korver to SG until Rip gets healthy, and you shore up the starting PF spot offensively and defensively. I could be convinced to do that. Bulls should keep CHA pick, though.

Keep your pick, Mitch will throw in The Lakers or Dallas' first round pick. Moris is the king of theoretical trades that make everyone happy.

It's hard to feel bad for someone who's deciding where he'll earn his next $100mil but the dude is 26 years old and making the biggest decision of his career. He's got agents and owners on each shoulder pressuring him to do what's best for their careers and it's all playing out in public in real time.

Sure, he hasn't made it easy for himself but sometimes the media just need to back the fuck off.

Boozer? Fuck that noise.

And now would actually not be one of those times.

Oh shit, these next 24 hours are going to be amazing. All we need is one major deal to get done and that'll start the dominoes in succession.

Can someone explain to me why Dwight wants to move from a pretty damn good Orlando team to NJ?? One of the worst in the NBA......any good explanation?

Its not as easy for him as it sounds, I agree, but he could easily avoid this by simply saying yay or nay.

Orlando hasn't been pretty good for a while and they're only getting worse.

NJ... eh, at least he'd have Deron and Brook. I guess :|

Gasol? Didn't he sleepwalk through the season, wilt in the playoffs and become subject to never-ending trade rumors?

Love, fine. I'll give you that one too.

No. Pau carried the Lakers for the 1st half of the year, wore down the final 2-3 weeks and playoffs.

Pau was Marc Stein's 1st trimester MVP!

Pau shot better, rebounded better, assisted better, turned it over less, and played better defense than Amar'e. Wasn't even close. http://bkref.com/tiny/r0KIl

The playoffs are making you forget the entire season where Pau was great.

Also, I'd have rather had Millsap or KG last season.

The idea is, like CP3 moving from a one-and-done playoff Hornets team to Blake's lottery Clippers, their complementary skill sets would make a better team and attract more ring-chasers (Caron, Chauncey, KMart), making them immediately competitive. Orlando isn't winning anything with their current payroll situation. No one is taking Hedo's deal until it's an expiring.

Can someone please summarize the past 4 pages of craziness? Dwight can opt in to the next season of his contract and legally be bound to stay next season? But he still hasn't signed papers? But has told Magic front office he will sign the papers?

What the hell is going on?

Lakers/Blazers/Wolves is apparently "close."
CSNNW.com has learned that the Portland Trail Blazers are close to bringing back guard Steve Blake in the reported three-team deal.

A source who's familiar with the talks says “if it's not done, it sounds close.”

In the deal, Jamal Crawford would go to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Michael Beasley to the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Trail Blazers would receive Blake.

Corroborated by the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda, who is saying the Wolves aren't surrendering any picks.

Sorry been trying to tend to a family matter, but agent Andy Miller (Crawford) says deal with Minn/LAL is close to being done. Blake to PDX.

noooooo

Jason Quick said:
Steve Blake says he has not been informed of deal to Portland yet. @BlazerFreeman source says PDX gets 1st round pick, too

First round pick?

That deserves a nooo.
