Ok so, I think I'm done with all pick permanently. Every single one of my friends that I've started playing premade with I've met in either Captain's Mode or on GAF. There's just a huge difference in both skill but more importantly desire to actually play the game somewhat seriously compared to AP. While the queue does take longer, and you sometimes get a mute Russian Captain going Bottle first sidelane Weaver (this actually happened), most of the time you just end up with an okay team that's willing to listen.

So my tip for anyone who isn't a complete beginner but is getting tired of wasting time on playing in teams with five carries fighting over "solo mid or I feed" is to simply try it out for a while. Make sure you understand the roles of heroes and you'll do fine even if you don't get to play the heroes you're best with. Ask people what they want you to focus on and always (literally at all times) make sure to carry a TP scroll.

Derp.

Midas Treads Earthshaker, weird Dendi build inc! (Though that's going to be a lot of money, not to mention a hard counter to Enchantress) I will be most amused if this turns into some kind of crit totem thing to poke Lifestealer with.

where's my meet the pyro :(

Goddammit Valve. And they said they were going to do Meet The for Dota.

Played some training 'inhouses' last night with the final one involving all five of my team communicating on skype.

Hot damn, is this game so different when things are co-ordinated. Bane is pretty good too. I was awful with him but still managed to have an appreciable effect on battles. Nightmare, enfeeble and fiend's grip are so good at just ruining the other team's day.

A Maelstrom on Dendi would be kinda crazy, but also would make a fair bit of sense, given he's stacking a fair bit of attack speed already (Midas and Treads thus far, +55% ~). He has his Blink and a BKB on top of it, so with further farm his intention could be to chip away with Totem on hard targets like the Lifestealer. Really out there, but it seems like that's where we're going.

Edit: Hmm, Platemail. Could he be thinking of an Assault Cuirass?

- Prophet has a Manta Style to go with his Scythe of Vyse now, VS has a Yasha. Na'Vi spreading out carry items, interesting. That redundancy could really come in handy if GoSu doesn't end the game soon.

VS has a manta style done now too. Na'Vi are spreading out the carry duties, and in such a manner that it makes it difficult for Lifestealer to wipe out a target in seconds. Smart, very smart.

Boom, there it is! A virtual wall of illusions in Lifestealer's face, and he's kited to death.

Yeah, I get really tired of people sucking Dendi's dick for the ES in that game (and everything else he does). The Furion had like 400 CS, the VS was farmed as shit too, it wasn't just the ES.

He's not Dota Jesus people.

His great individual play is definitely built on the foundation of great team play, can't subtract one from the other.

I get the feeling that Gosu has weak players in Bdiz and Universe. I'm looking at the scoreboard for this second game and I see huge farm centralized on Korok and Bulba with practically 0 farm on their other three heroes. You do not play with 3 support heroes, period. NaVi has four heroes with big CS that can all impact fights significantly while Gosu has two heroes with farm. There wasn't a huge difference in towers either for most of the game. Universe should have been farmed up on that SK.

NaVi utilized their jungle and map control better, which is hilarious because Gosu should have been dominating the early game. When I watched Gosu roll over EG last night I saw EG with the big early push strat versus Gosu looking to farm up Morphling. It worked for one simple reason: Gosu took Roshan twice in the early game, thus cowing EG out of pushing and engaging in teamfights before the Morphling was too fat. Gosu didn't do that in this game. They had 3 heroes that were complete nonfactors due to lack of farm and levels in spite of controlling the game very well and they didn't push the game late enough by controlling Rosh.

- Adjusted how we calculate "too dangerous to TP into", so bots should be less suicidal when TPing in to defend.
- When bots really would like to defend a tower but are lacking the ability to TP there, we greatly increase the "consider going to the side shop to buy a TP" distance.
- Fixed bug where bots would path to the wrong location when farming a neutral camp.

GoSu definitely seems to be weaker as a team unit in comparison. Even with all that farm concentrated on Kurok's Morphling, and to a lesser extent Mirana (had a Manta Style and an MKB by game's end, iirc), Na'Vi found an inch and took a mile.

Predictions back on track, aw yiss.
