CBS Interactive (GameSpot parent company) buys Giant Bomb

HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!!

At least this will keep the lights on.

But I'd be surprised if the core crew stays through 2014. I don't really see genuine excitement there, just bemused relief.

But it's what's happening, it keeps the podcast and quicklooks going for the next few years which is honestly more than it really seems like it would have lasted otherwise.

THE FUCK

I just got idle thumbs back and this has to happen? AKJFLK:LKASF

Drew is technically GB right? Hes going with them?

The hell did someone buy anime vice for?

Honestly, I just want them to keep working their magic and have fun while doing it. If this allows them to then OK I guess.
Still, I feel really bad for Matt Rorie. It does explain the lack of pocasts on screened in 2012, but man.

I cannot imagine how pissed Gerstmann must be to basically be back with Gamespot.

He could actually be really pleased. Think about it, the execs that caused that whole mess are no longer with the company and the parent corp. decided to get him back. He could see it as a triumph.

Ok, I literally jsut came into this thread.

I have no idea what is fucking hapepening.

Any synopsis so far? I know there is a stream going on, but it seems like they were jsut in the middle of it.

Guessing Jeff's explanation will be something that has nothing to do with his new employer being bought and paid for and more some third party that does not work with them anymore.

It was a very public scandal and I am sure it was someone's idea to have Jeff make a video explaining why it's okay now.

Putting selfish worries aside, I'm really happy for the Whiskey crew. They deserve this if it comes with a big payoff. They've gone against the grain and taken a big risk, and we've all loved them for it.

If CBS is smart they'll understand that they can't neuter the site. It has to be left alone or else they'll smother it out. My guess is that this just means more resources and money for Giant Bomb to use in their operations and that they'll get to continue to do their same wacky stuff.

Giant Bomb have been bought out, they're going back to work at Gamespot.
Jeff is having a sit down chat that's being streamed revealing what happened with his firing at 4pm PDT.

Um.. Holy shit at FINALLY figuring out WHY jeff was fired Today at 4PM, I am gonna be fucking watching it.

I don't understand, has he not discussed it before? Why is he now talking about it a few years later when he's once again working for the company that let him go to start with? If people didn't think he was being truthful before or revealing everything I would have to think there's even less chance of that now...
