I get frustrated with the Bulls' FO, too. They're extremely conservative, and they want "their type of guys" on the team.
But who should they have traded? And for whom? It takes (at least) two teams to trade. The problem with the Bulls having a surfeit of assets in the present and recent past is that other teams have wanted to raid them for more than they ask from other teams. It's like a server expecting a bigger tip from a richer customer.

Basically all of this, except the PER nonsense. Hollinger is an idiot and his arbitrary stat system is awful.
He has a pretty explosive first step though, doesn't he? I remember him being pretty damn fast. Above average court vision from what I've seen from him.
Even though his jump shot sucks, the Lakers now have a legitimate penetrator.

You pretty much explained it yourself. He was the worst starting PG in the NBA and people are still sad. Thats what he means to this city. When they say he is a LA sports legend they really arent far off. If you asked people who arent basketball fans in this town to name Lakers, It would probably go Kobe, Shaq, Horry, Fisher, Magic, in some sort of order.

Ugh. Young's been dangled out there so long too. He's never been on a stable team before, who knows what he can turn into in a league lacking in talented SG's. What a waste to just let him go to the Clippers for nothing, speaking from a Bulls fans perspective. I would have went after Ray first, but Young being the one "unruly" player on a well coached team would have been fine. He could have been BG in Chicago, with potential to be more disciplined in time. Those players come up big when you can't seem to get a score from anywhere. If he plays well the rest of this season, I can see him being a Clipper for a long time.
I also like what the Wizards did in rerouting their team somewhat. Between Wall, McGee, and Young they were too young and immature. Nene and Wall are a much better foundation to build from. Nene's contract isn't beautiful, but you have to start somewhere.

He's not great - as you said, he's no Chris Paul. But he's no Jonny Flynn, and is a big upgrade over Blake/Fish.
PER is useful at a glance, but shouldn't be used to compare specialists like Bowen or high-level players like Durant and LeBron. Defense also has to be accounted for. I think PER tends to undervalue PGs and overvalue big scoring wings who get a lot of system rebounds. But a PER of 9 is just bad unless you're a defensive specialist, and Fisher was the opposite of that.

Unless The Lakers traded Fisher and pick for a mystery point guard who pulled up in a Delorean and out popped a 40 year old Fisher, Lakers upgraded.
We are all aware that Ramon is average, but thats all we wanted. Playing with Kobe/Pau/Bynum will get him open like mad and he should be able to rack up assists with the second unit.
I can't see him putting up worse numbers at least.

True, Jax FG% is crappy, but he isn't afraid of taking the big shots and making things happen. I liked Jefferson, but his production was way too inconsistent.

To be fair, Jefferson lacks actual shooting ability in the playoffs so that won't be a concern in May.

Most of Lakers gaf right here hated fisher for his boneheaded moves on the fastbreak, and his ego getting to the best of him and things like that. However, I wish nothing but the best for Fisher. I love Fisher, we all do. Sure we tell him to retire and shit like that every time he plays and that he sucks and shit and lololol foot on the line only fisher goddammit lolool but I love the guy. Gave us basketball back in november. I really hope that he doesn't put a rocket uniform on and that Houston really buys him out. The Lakers can sign him to a 1 day contract and let him retire in the purple and gold like he deserves. I hope he can get a spot on the coaching staff next week. Thank you Fisher. For everything.
