Hey look, it's every post about the Eagles from last year's thread.

Go ahead and find one. The myth of the dream team is becoming larger then life. 2 players said it, no one in the media, or any fans thought that. People thought they would be improved, but even before the season started everyone was talking about the Packers repeating.

I wonder how Alex Smith feels right now...

I've loved Alex all along, but he resurrected his career with Harbaugh. He'll get a shot on another team, no doubt about it imo. If Harbaugh feels we'd have a better shot with Peyton than Alex, then you gotta trust his decision. Alex will be disappointed that we went after Peyton, if we get him or not, but he shouldn't be upset IMO.

No use getting mad, it's like the Santa story all over again. Just pay it no mind.

And Peyton's really playing this perfectly. Arizona/Miami drops out, so get another team in there. Keep the Broncos/Titans/Possibly Niners? involved and bidding against each other and someone will get desperate, offer something unbelievable.

On Wallace - if someone wants to sign him, don't the Steelers still have the right to meet the offer and keep him in Pittsburgh?

On Flynn - while it's unfair to compare individual players with each other, the fact remains that Flynn's contract is going to be lower than Kolb's for two obvious reasons. 1, backup QBs who have gotten some PT and shown flashes (i.e., Cassel and Kolb) have gotten mega-deals and done shit and 2, the rookie salary situation in the new CBA allows you to take a stab at a QB without defiling your franchise for years on end (ala Bradford).

What Flynn has over drafting a QB is obvious: pro credentials. He has played at the pro level, has read pro defenses, has proven results. Small sample size? Yes. But 2 very good/games at the pro level is more than any college QB can show. I think his contract falls in between drafting a QB high in the 1st round (Newton) and going all out for a backup QB (Kolb).

Won't happen.

Expect Tebow and Brent to be the Fish's QBs this year.
They could have sucked for Luck. They had everything going for them. The Colts even won a couple games.
Miami only has themselves to blame for the mess they're in now.
They don't even have any receivers for a QB to throw to now that Marshall is gone.
Just Davone Bess and Brian Hartline. Even Fasano is better than those guys.

Just thought I'd hop in to let you guys know that there is no doubt in my mind that Manning signs with Tennessee. And we will then win the super bowl.

That is all.

If true about Peyton and the Niners, I wouldn't be too surprised about it. I imagine it came into play after the Niners sent an offer to Alex.I also wouldn't be surprised if the interest initially came from Peyton and that the Niners were one of his top choices to begin with.

I can't believe that we worked out Peyton so low pro. Not even a leak until today, three days after the work out took place. Manning to Moss? Fuck me.

This is to good to be true.

Has anyone picked up Manningham yet?

I like the prospect of Kaep learning from Peyton. If we don't get him though and we do end up signing Alex, will Alex's confidence be back in the toilet?
