Aw yiss, Bloodstone time (soon). If this drags out, that thing is going to have a ton of charges.

Edit: He should have the money, now that they won that fight. And thur it is.

Looks like the Schema has been updated

http://www.cyborgmatt.com/2012/03/dota-2-item-schema-update/

There are a few items I'm not too thrilled with. The items to increase drop rates, the item to take you out of low priority, and that some items expire after a week/day (Though it looks like they will be given out for free at least)

There is going to be a shit ton of items though, Juggernaut and Natures Prophet both have more then 25 items each. If they go on that trend for all 108 characters, that will be 2700 items. Really like the idea of items that change things like the treants and the healing ward (Though the defalut healing ward is the best thing ever)

Yikes...not feeling this..

I am actually kind of a fan of that re-skin. Tidehunter is probably a hard one to make items for so I can see why they would do a re-skin. Other heros seem to have quite a few choices for items.

Why? You're still going to have all the abandons so leaving again and you'll just get hit with a bigger penalty, and they can easily limit it to once a week if they wanted. Increasing the drop rate item is a pretty standard F2P item.

I just need to see how they are done, they are the only thing that somewhat worry me. I have no problem with everything else I see.

No item should take you out of the low priority unless there is a higher penalty for getting back in right away. If people use it because they've actually matured and maybe aren't assholes anymore (yeah right, like those people exist) then they shouldn't necessarily be burdened or held back by their past. If people are just going to throw their money away (which valve will love to take) just to get in a high priority again just to be the same asshole that got them out of it, there should be a repercussion for that (other than them losing money obviously).

Should be child's play to keep track of who keeps landing into the quitter's bracket after purchasing "get out of jail" free tickets. They'd probably be tempting a ban after a certain threshold.

The coolest part I think is how they can change the way the spells look, there's one that modify's furion's tree ents.

Incoming lycan's corgi summons. Buying it day one.

They should sell ad-space on the spell effects.

Like Kunkka's Torrent calls up a big can of Fanta, and his ghost ship will be filled with dancing bikini girls.

So I began to really play today. Played a few matches with bots (my god, bots are awful) just to get used to things and I actually understand it now. I did some crafting to make better items which is cool. I played as Axe (heard he is easy to play as) and the only thing I REALLY need to work on is my deaths. It seems like once I get hit with some spells, I'm dead pretty quickly.

Basically what I want to know is how do I avoid dying so much? I'm kind of thinking I need to stay back a bit more and try to get better items and better regen/hp, but I want to see what you guys say.

Get a 1 Valve dollar for every game you play with the ad items.

Additional Valve dollars for every spectator watching your game.

The possibilities are endless.

Nononononnono, someone spreading lies again, you know who you are.

Axe is NOT easy to play.

General rules of thumb:
1) Always buy 200 worth of regeneration items early in the game. Either Tango/Pot, Tango/Tango or Pot/Pot
2) If you're playing an initiation hero like Axe, consider making a Vanguard.
3) Spells, on average, deal 75/150/225/300 damage (where each number corresponds to the level of the skill). A typical nuker at level 5 will be able to do 375 damage. Hero resistance automatically knocks off 25% damage for all spells, so in reality, they will be able to do 281 damage. Multiply that by the number of people running around and you can get a rough estimate for how much damage you can expect if everyone suddenly targets you. As you play, you'll get a feel for this and judging potential risk will become a reflex.
4) Play safe.

Next week heroes.

Lone Bear & Lycan, lycanthrope brothers!
I could see that happening, though I also wouldn't be surprised if the one hero rhythm stays in place for some time. Seems like the almost-completed hero reserve has thinned out considerably since the public updates began.

Fuck these furry bitches, where as my sexy assassins?

Get used to it. It's the same deal with TF2. Yeah, often most people use their cosmetics tastefully, but then you run into a Spy with a pink wig, lime green beard, and yellow sunglasses. In TF2, getting cosmetic items are kind of a big deal and take a lot of effort/luck, but with the sheer number of cosmetic items already in the game for Dota 2, it makes me wonder if you can get them fairly easily.
