Yay, Mega-posts are back!
id rather have a permanent banker with like a 12 hour cooldown on it or something than a banker that goes away after 5 days...that would deff make it more worthwhile to me
If I had to compromise, I'd be happy with a banker with a limited amount of time, but the timer only runs when he's in use. From the way they word it, it sounds like the second you active him, the timer is running.
Say whaa? What happened to the Round Table of Guardians? Who is the rebel that started this nonsense?!
Edit: Welcome back Retro.
Thanks. When I left, everyone seemed to be leaning towards Guardians and Charr.
It's sad that I see all the info on WoW:Mists of Pandaria and all I can think is it will be more of the same. I'm still interested in it and will buy it, but as soon as I get to end game I just see myself getting bored with anything other than the critter fighter, and this is if I even find Monk interesting. Pretty tired of all the other classes at this point. Also their changes to the talent trees just seem like more simplification to the game rather than trying to impliment variance from player to player.
My first reaction: "Ewww,
Furries". Those female Panderen are just creepy-looking, even more than the female Worgen. Whereas the Female Charr look like a true sexual dimorphism, it looks like Blizzard just said
"screw it, take the males and add pigtails and tits".
As for the actual gameplay, it looks like the Monk class will be very silly (Alcohol-fueled tanking?) and wonky (their healing tree looks very cumbersome). The changes to the talent tree will make it thoroughly idiot-proof (I say
"Make a system any fool can use and only a fool will want to use it" though), the new zones look like Blizzard used Asian restaurant decor as their style guide, and the other races still don't have new models. They were looking bad when Blood Elves and Spacegoats came out, now two expansions later and they look absurd.
I can't believe anyone thought this was a good idea for an expansion. Any time the devs have to say (repeatedly) "They are not silly, this is not a comedy expansion, we take giant kung-fu panda drunkards very seriously!", it starts to sound like they're trying to convince
themselves.
Meh.
I have a question about the game, I'm a big fan of crafting systems, one of the reason I liked FFXI, but FFXIV was a big disappointment in general, and of the upcoming MMO this and Lineage III are the ones that interest me the most, anyway does GW II have a crafting system?
As a minor addition to what others have said, I would like to point out that Ravious over at
Kill Ten Rats mentioned that his press invitation was extended and that "this time crafting and trading are priorities."
I finally realize how huge it is that there are no factions, and it's one big community. That adds so much in building a world that feels like you don't have to make a choice and splinter the server and you can play with anyone, quest with anyone, etc.
Not only that, but there aren't actually divisions between the servers themselves. You can still hang out with people from other servers as long as it's not in WvW. Comp. PVP and PVE is supposed to be completely free of any server restrictions.
No longer will you find another GW2 player and not be able to play with them. I can't tell you how many times I've met co-workers or found out old friends are playing an MMO, but we can't play together because they're on Server A and I'm on Server T, or he's a Green guy and I'm Red. In a genre that's supposed to be all about community and social interaction, MMOs to this point have made it awfully hard to actually play with friends.
Oh, that's right, it's easy if you don't mind pissing away $25 to transfer.
