The thing about New Star Soccer is that it's so frustrating that you'll ping passes about and score goals more often than not. But your team will be crap and get beat, so all of your work kinda goes to nothing.

My star rating has gone up, I'm playing for Juventus now, but it still feels like winning a league or cup is just complete luck. It's hard to keep fans happy if I'm hitting a hat-trick but we're getting beat 4-3 and the fans lose points off the ratings.
Game has sucked away way too much of my time. I hate that you get 3 chances throughout the entire match that are passes and then they give you negative ratings because of it. Not sure what they expect me to do about it.

I downloaded Squids as well. Does the iCloud backup get your game saves too (if they're stored local)? The regular iTunes backup does I know

edit: just looked through it and it does seem to get all your apps. amazing how small a lot of the amounts are

Huzzah!

Finally managed to fix this stupid error that has kept bugging me since Waking Mars came out:

Intermittently when I would update or purchase another app afterwards this would pop up with +1 to the count of "other apps", then go away and the update/purchase would proceed as normal, only with a very delayed "Waiting" stage of the download. Finally got fed up with it since it was never going away and found a fix that has both removed the error message and has seemingly permanently and reduced the "Waiting" stage of downloads to 0 again as it was when I first got my 4S.

If anyone's interested for the fix it's very simple, involved deleting a app store database cache file via iExplorer. Here's an article explaining it: http://www.blog.gleff.com/2012/03/app-store-unable-to-purchase-fix/

YES

Finally playing GP Story and.. i dunno, I expected it to be different.
There's a lot of "free" time, Game Dev was a lot more hectic. But maybe it just starts very slow, i just got dine with the first GP series.
Two questions: when you race, what's the grey button with your stats/speed/driver for? I thought it was some kind of push/slow down/pass button a la GT5 B-Spec. You can push it but I don't see any change, maybe later into the game?
Second: what's the skill for you car/driver you should look out for when you crash into the barriers a tad much?

?

:)

Finally got around to getting Machinarium. The little robot has heaps of personality and the soundtrack is fantastic. I'm awful at puzzle games - struggling a bit. Have roped in the bf for help. I hope it's getting a bit of interest from new iPad owners, can definitely recommend it!

I was going to ask how do you know that it's going to be on freemyapp, but then I saw who posted. You seen to know where all the deals are.
FreeMyApps would be stupid if they didn't get Angry Birds Space on there, it's common sense.

Haven't played it in ages but IIRC it's vehicle Handling and driver Steer that governs how well you drive on the course in general, coupled with the type of raceway it is, off-road, ice, pavement etc.
The grey button you mention during races, I think you just mean the Driver info overview, if you have "Aura time" you press it to activate it (boost performance), otherwise it just focuses the camera on the driver in question (or drivers if you have multiple ones in the same race).

DDP: Resurrection HD looks great even on the new iPad with medium screen size setting. I love this game so much. Also I feel much better about my leaderboard positions considering how few people have this so far compared to the original.

My scores seem to be slightly higher in the HD version, has anything changed that would affect that? Besides resolution, I mean.

Infinite Flight iOS flight sim.

Besides the higher resolution (therefore bullets being sharper with higher contrast against the lower resolution backgrounds), nothing that would really benefit you, unless you find the reduced number of frames of animation less distracting.

Okay, maybe I'm not "hip" enough to get this Sworcery game, but what the fuck am I supposed to do when the game starts? Theres like this record spinning, and then a "i" button. I click the "i" button and I get to a title screen, then I clicked another "i", back to the record, again, hit the "i", and now I'm at a point where some weird looking dude is standing there, with no indication of what the fuck to do or how the hell to control the game? I tap on the screen and it makes some "wooshing" noise, and the guy kind of shrugs, and that's it.

What. The. Fuck.

Jesus, the guy says "hey wanna jam?" when you tap him, tap him trice and it moves on. You will most likely hate the game if you didn't even figure out the menu screen.

It's extremely overrated, much much better available on iOS. Don't feel too bad.

Just picked up Sword and Sworcery today. I was thinking of getting it and didn't even realize it was on sale today, so that was a plus! The game is really interesting. The soundtrack's phenomenal and really suits the game. I've only played the first level (scene? I dunno), but it's really engaging. I don't wanna just rush through it so I'm going to do one a day. Definitely worth getting just for the pixel art and soundtrack, it's sooo prettttty.

Jesus, indeed. I swear I tapped him like 10 times and he just did the same thing over and over. Honestly, going into the game with no idea about it, they did a shitty job of introducing how it's controlled.

I can see where you're coming from, the game as a whole has almost no hand holding whatsoever. It does give you hints and clues if you pay attention but it's very subliminal in it's messaging.

Personally I think the experience is next to none on the platform, at the end of it I was amazed. But on the other hand I know people who absolutely hated it so it can go both ways for sure with this one.

On another note, Hunters 2 is out in Europe now, and my god this is sublime. Recommended to people with an XCOM itch to scratch. There's no base building, but there's manufacturing of equipment/weapons.

It's night and day compared to the first game, better in every way.

Okay, that's good to know. I don't mind not having any hand holding, I just didn't know that's how the gameplay is. I still say they do a poor job with introducing the game to people who don't already know what it's about.

An update from the trenches - we now have a new iPad inhouse, so are busily double checking everything works properly as well as jumping on the MAMC iPad Retina update to work out what is going on there as the live version is just displaying at normal iPad resolution. We think the issue might be an iTunes Connect setup issue because our build happily displays at full Retina res locally on the emulator and hardware.

In any case, updates to fix iPad Retina related issues have been rushing out the door, so keep an eye out for those if you have picked a new iPad up.

So about the Sword&Sworcery versions... If I have an iPhone 4S, should I go with the universal or the micro one? It says Micro is for iPod Touch/iPhone only, but does it still have Retina/Make use of the 4S power?

If you are playing it on an iPhone, Micro

If you have an iPad too and want to play it on that, the $1.99 version

Anytime I try and download an app now it just says "waiting" on the app icon and doesn't start downloading. It just stays there forever. Is the store being hammered or did I do something? I recently downloaded an app from freemyapps but that's the only change I've done.

:( whyyy is this happening? I want squids!
