The Walking Dead - Season 2 - Sundays on AMC

Shane would of said that he had to kill Randall when he attacked him if he just wanted to lie to get rid the kid. It's obvious it was a setup to kill Rick.

It COULD be seen as that, but that's a pretty specific line of reasoning, I wouldn't expect most people to make it. Shane could have just as easily been trying to sell it and get away without having them think he killed the kid.

Why is it so hard to believe that people are upset with the death of Shane regardless of whether or not it was justified?

A navy SEAL recounted their first kill in an AMA on reddit recently and talked about how they felt. You know, people who are trained to kill bad people still have intense feelings about killing people. It is not hard.

Everyone is taking a far too logical approach to survival during a zombie apocalypse. Just because something is the right thing to do, or just because it keeps you alive, does not mean you or other people are not going to feel real shitty for how things go down.

Man, some people are in for rude awakenings as this show progresses if it is anything like the comics. This show (as well as the comics) are about people and how they react to insane situations. If you cannot realize that someone may act illogically you must be like Spock or something.

Welcome to the world. There are emotions and stuff.

Most of the group supported Shane's idea to just kill Randall off. I think most of the group seemed fine with Shane and didn't see him to be that crazy to warrant being killed off. Especially if it's only been 3 weeks since the series began, it hasn't been that long since Shane was the one leading them and keeping them all safe.

Just watched the last 4 episodes of the Season 2 back-to-back. They were amazing, much better than the first half of the season. Finally the feeling that none of the (semi)main characters on the show would actually die is gone. Also, Rick is becoming a bad-ass.

Haven't read the thread for a while so i'm sorry if this has already been asked.

Is the Comic finished or still on going?
How much will i spoil the tv-series if i start to read it?

I really liked this season and i'm itching for more.

Still on going, and even though the two doesn't follow each other exactly there's a fair amount of spoilers you can expect if you read it. Still, if I were you, I'd probably read the comic anyway, it's way better and I'd rather spoil the show than the comic if that makes any sense?

I think if you replace "most of the group" with the women, you're probably closer to the truth. Daryl seems very aware of what is going on with Shane despite not directly witnessing any of it. Dale knows Shane is a problem before anyone else did. Herschel and his family loath Shane. Glenn probably feels similar feelings that Maggie does, but he's not as much of an authority figure as the other men, so he feels no need to voice this opinion. T-Dog doesn't get any lines, so who knows what he thinks.

Andrea, Lori, and Carol are probably the ones who have the least of an issue with Shane. And even Lori acknowledges that Shane is dangerous. It will be interesting to see Andrea's reaction to Shane's death, because she still doesn't know about it. I feel like in the past 2-3 episodes she's becoming more of what she is in the comics, but she could veer away sharply depending on how she deals with Shane's death.

T-Dog is the Morn of TWD. Behind the scenes, he's probably a constant chatterbox who has been cleverly sowing dissent among the team in a mad plan to get everybody to the coast.

I would be highly amused if her reaction was "...yep."

Besides, she has a new bangmate now, one that's into S&M.

Thanks. Everyone is saying that the comic is better but since i already have a predetermined way of thinking in terms of how the (tv) series will pan out, i might already dislike the comic.
In the same way how people who have read the books and hate the movies in similar comparison.
I wont disregard it all together though.. I will be picking up some of the earlier comics but i'm hesitant to read beyond this season (if you can compare).
I'd rather not spoil the show (even if the comic is better) since i like the mood and (albeit forgettable) characters (daleface and t-dog comes to mind).
I absolutely loved this season since it was all about drama. Sure, they dragged most of it on too long, but this season was way better than the first.
Too bad
Shane had to die.
I had really high hopes about him.
I almost wanted him to join the others instead and would've followed a show (or web episodes) about him.

But then again, there's hope that Rick is turning to the "survival of the fittest" line of thinking.
Which would open up a whole can of worms, with a (to be) sociopathic son and a wife (& mother) who would do anything to keep her family safe.

Regarding the show, my bet is going on that Rick will have to leave the group.. Whether Lori follows or not is anyones guess.
But there's a lot of wishful thinking from my side going on here so.. Yeah.

I haven't read the comics, but if you want to try them and avoid spoilers you can try: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=36161916#post36161916

Thanks!

EDIT: anyway i can get a hold of it in Europe?

This has probably been asked already, but I'll ask again:

If everyone is already infected, what does it matter if someone is bitten by a zombie? How is it any different from a regular wound? Before, we assumed that once bitten, you would become infected and turn into a zombie...but now that we know that everyone is already infected, how does being bitten by a zombie change that? Does it speed up the infection? Do the people who remain untouched by the zombies eventually turn into one while they're still living?

The zombie bites give you a fever that kills you pretty fast and they have no known way to treat it. Watch the episode in season 1 where that guy who dug the graves got bit.

As for people turning into zombies without being bit or otherwise dying, nothing on the show has suggested that. But it has only been like a matter of weeks since the outbreak happened. So who knows what kind of long term effects there are to "being infected", if any.

I was reading up on the The Walking Dead wiki earlier and I learned that they actually filmed a scene where they find the nursing home from season 1 overrun with walkers. It's unfortunate that the scene was deleted. I was wondering what happened to them, especially after hearing Rick say that Atlanta is lost.

I'm sitting here wrapping up the season and I have two things that keep bothering me.
1- I forgot what episode it was on but they sent the Asian kid down the well to catch
the walkers attention to trap it. Why the fuck did they do that ?

2- Second, why the fuck did she try to od on day after pills when the pregnancy test
already came up positive? For such smart people they do some dumb shit sometimes.

They were trying to get the walker out of the well b/c they thought it would contaminate the water.

Desperate times call for desperate measures?

Yeah. I think they were planning on using that in the Season 2 premiere. You can actually see them leaving that nursing home area as Rick is still doing his monologue during the opening episode of Season 2.

Now what I've been wondering is if that was the same nursing home that the "Vatos" gang (the guys from Season 1, Episode 4) were held up at. I could imagine that Rick said after leaving the CDC that they should visit the Vatos hideout to try and help get as many of them out of the city as possible, and then they find that it was overrun by walkers. Would've been pretty cool.

Fucking AMC.

I'm sad because no episode today. :(

I'm sad because no episodes for +6 months. :(

Oh, well. MEMES!

Breaking Bad's fate isn't up in the air, man. It's back this summer for sure.

Not really sure how people keep thinking it isn't coming back. AMC stepped up their game on renewing shows finally besides the Killing. Only thing we really don't know is how will they do the two parts.

i thought amc already had the rest of the year planned out for sunday nights:

mad men the next three months. then breaking bad takes over for the summer which leads into fall for season 3 of the walking dead.

Well if you want to try it without potentially spoiling things you could just pick up the 1st and 2nd TPB. That way you can get a feel for the comic without reading about potential future story points for the show. Although even though I've read up to the latest issue I don't feel I know outright what will happen in the show, as a lot of things are changed around which is great.

Anyway, I don't know where in Europe you live but one way to get them is always amazon.

Oh shit, I just thought of this. That is a TERRIBLE place to hole up. With a bunch of old people about to die! Since everyone is infected, they will die and turn into Zombies without ever being bitten.....gah

TBH hope Carol gets killed off soon but Daryl seems to have some sort of emotional attachment to her so that looks like a no go.

BTW what age am I meant to believe Daryl is? I'm thinking mid 20s?? But sometimes I can't help but feel that he's actually being portrayed as someone in his 30s at least?

Sorry, don't read the comic.

These are not smart people.

Definitely. If they were smart, they would have AT LEAST done the following:

1) Fortified the farm with stronger defenses than waist-high wire fences

2) Formulated elaborate and scenario-based defensive and extraction plans for the farm location

3) Scavenge for and train with silent weapons such as crossbows, knives and polearms

It's disappointing because it would have been far more interesting to see how the farm gets overrun despite their most elaborate of plans. That's part of the reason why I Am Legend was so fascinating. Instead, during the farm siege, all we got are a bunch of people scrambling about like headless chickens, shooting mindlessly at the zombies and characters dying to zombies that they didn't notice coming at them when they were just ten feet away. Lame.

I've been thinking about that ever since I accidentally clicked&read on that spoiler half a year ago. Walkers with walkers, man....

Ultimately I wonder where this series can end....will there be a cure? Will Rick and everyone just eventually die off? Will there be never ending DRAMA!?

It will be canceled when ratings finally die down. The last episode will have a shoehorned in ending that is hastily and clumsily built towards in the last few eps, probably some magical happy time cure ending but preferably something like the ending to Blake's 7.

2- Second, why the fuck did she try to od on day after pills when the pregnancy test already came up positive? For such smart people they do some dumb shit sometimes.
We don't know the type of pill she took. There is one called Mifepristone, which is a morning-after-pill but also doubles as an abortion-pill. (It is used to induce an abortus in early stages of pregnancy.)

3) Scavenge for and train with silent weapons such as crossbows, knives and polearms
They did. Rick started training Shane; Daryll gathered more arrows and the group used hammers and stuff to fight the walkers on the farm in later episodes.

She is probably a Republican since she lives in Georgia. Therefore, the morning after pill is the same as an abortion.

I dont doubt it is coming back, but Im not sure it will make it in the summer. I have a feeling AMC will push it back to fall. Hopefully Im wrong and it comes back at the end of July like last season.

Why do you think that? Filming is beginning not too much later than it did last season and Cranston said July with no rebuttal from anyone else

I've started reading the comic. So far it's one of the most engaging and interesting comics ive ever read.

For fans checking out the comic, make sure to also check out Kirkman's other major comic, Invincible. Its a superhero comic, but it certainly retains Walking Dead's no bullshit approach.
