I doubt you will agree but I thought that the Eagles did a much better job of bringing in guys towards the beginning of Reid's tenure when he had all the power. I think spliting things 3 ways like they did can make things a bit confused. hopefully with one clear voice in charge things will be better going forward.

I can't agree because I am not sure anymore. Reid has had a lot of influence throughout his time in Philly while reports and speculation suggest he lost some of that pull when certain FO guys left.

I don't know how much of that I believe. And if we are to believe he had more power than now, though he retained his VP of Personnel title, he was responsible for the complete lack of talent at WR from 99-2004 and failure to solidify the LB position. So if its true than yeah maybe he was a better talent scout than the guys running the show the past few years but he was still in charge when they made some terrible moves early on.

Grover the fact that Freeman is fat ass that should go to fat camp is not a spoiler.

I believe that spoilering non-spoilers like that is a bannable offense.

I'd appreciate it if you'd follow the TOS.

Thank you, sir.

Alright, I'm sorry.

Bucket's got his panties all in a bunch. Just because the Packers D sucks dick, doesn't mean he has to take out his frustrations on us.

Redskins update as well:

RT @alexmarvez: #Redskins LB Lorenzo Alexander says NFL cap penalty hindering contract talks 2 re-sign LB London Fletcher

Cap penalty is hindering it? How about signing Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan before even signing your team leader? smh

Dolphins have lost only 4 starters, but with 2 of them being Bell and Marshall.. it stings.

Apparently Ireland assured Bell at the scouting combine that he would remain a Dolphins without any restructuring of his contract. And then Ireland cuts him. I bet he joins Welker in greener pastures.

Hopefully the Jeff Saturday signing means way more no huddle offense. It also is a huge improvement to not just the depth of the line, but also at the center position. PFO had Saturday as a top 5 center last year. That's fantastic. I think Wells was like 15. Center isn't a terribly important position in the Packers offense, but having a guy who will be able to recognize and call assignments is massive.

Love it. Very thrilled.

That's an extreme hypothetical and I think it misses the point a little. You're preaching to the choir. Of course there's a difference between legal play and going after someone intentionally. In this case, there's no question wrong was committed and the players should be punished and IMO more harshly than the coaches. (I've already said as much).

Having said that, if you're screaming righteous indignation about assault or crimes committed, then what would you propose? Should they be arrested? Is it that severe?Moving forward, should Goodell regulate intent moreso than he's even doing today? How much of a detriment is that to the game? You could make the argument that the hit I posted on Favre could have been avoided/be less violent in execution. It would be a good argument as the hit could be considered excessive by many. If you make that argument though or say hypothetically the player who put the hit on Favre were heavily fined and singled out, I'm willing to bet that a large contingent of posters here would scream their own righteous indignation about the pussification of the league. We've seen it time and time again. Hell, I've done it more often than not.

What I'm getting at is there's a culture (cue Cajun culture jokes!) embedded in these players to deliver these big hits (with or without bounties), whether it be to get on a highlight reel or get their ego stroked by their teammates and that may be at the cost of the health of the player on the other end of it. The intention, in many cases is *not* to injure but unfortunately its a consequence. To some extent football fans are guilty as well. I never want to see a guy injured but I love to see a big nasty hit that puts a guy on his ass. How do you regulate the intention of that hit? Goodell has tried to do that in the past couple of seasons and fans have given him copious amounts of shit for doing so and doing it inconsistently at best.

Can you? I don't know the limits of your strength.;)

Pussification is such a horrible term. When used in debate it marginalizes whatever safety issue people are talking about.

Its a game. You seem to be arguing about entertainment vs safety. I think its clear which is more importantalso just because a bunch of fans get pissed doesnt mean something is wrong

Plus this means we can go all defense all day in the draft. Last time we did that we ended up with Matthews and Raji in the first round. <3

Still mad at you Raji. Shape up or we send your ass back to Brooklyn!

Packers D does suck, though.

Yep that #1 defense in 2009 pre-Playoff bed shitting... Super Bowl defense in 2010.... and #1 Turnover ratio in 2011 is FUCKING HORRIBLE.

Zip your lip, Tarheel scum.

Hey buddy, why do you think they let Wells go?

Wanted too much money?
Problems getting to the "next level" in blocking schemes?

I've never analyzed his play too much.

My guess is the Skins just dont want to pay what he is asking and are using the cap as an excuse. The market for MLBs is incredible soft this year, I bet they will resign him on the cheap closer to the draft.

EXACTLY!

Superbowl, Texans vs Packers.

Texans take the lead in the last 30 seconds with Scahub hitting Owen Daniels for a TD. .Mathews blitzes and gets knocked out cold by our first round pick Konz from Wisconsin.

Packers get the ball at their own 20 and on the first play Rodgers throws a quick out that gets intercepted for a pick 6 by JJ watt. Packers GAF goes ballistic and is not heard from for 6 months.

Its all part of the plan...

I was all aboard the Texans hype train last year. F that noise. Now I'm rooting for your season to crash and burn (not that I'll need to since they do every year anyway).

To celebrate the arrival of NFL quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, Virgin Atlantic Airways has offered to provide Tebow with free flights to London and unlimited access to the airline's new JFK Clubhouse... so long as he stays a virgin.

In their statement, the airline said, "The 'penalty flag' will only be thrown if the quarterback 'gets sacked' and 'loses possession' of his V-card."

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about this signing. Great move.

What don't you get? We're consistently good, still have at least a top 10 defense and have Ben Roethlisberger at QB.

I don't count on you having a top 10 defense next year and the whole issue with Wallace could get interesting. I probably would have placed you at 11. No big deal. Like I said, these are meaningless.

We've literally had a top 10 defense for the whole decade, with the majority of that time spent within the top 5. What makes you think we're going to drop from #1 to out of the top 10 in a season without losing anyone of worth from it? Hell, it's probably going to be better considering Harrison and Woodley only played together for a few games max last season.

And Mike Wallace is likely going to stay with the Steelers until he's an unrestricted free agent after this upcoming season, especially if reports are true about his demanded salary.

Fingers crossed that Orakpo beats Cruz. I want nothing to do with a Giant on the cover.

I think Tebow wins by a landslide. Curse lives on the second he puts on a green jersey.

But wait, normally someone gets put on the cover who had a really good season. Then The Curse strikes and the dude gets hurt or sucks wet marbles.

What happens when you put a guy on the cover who already sucks? Can't throw? Guts out a few wins? I mean, is it possible that Tebow not curse-able? Is it possible he could get worse? Or does the curse make those who were good terrible and those who are terrible good? I mean, if he gets put on the cover, could he win the SB to anti-curse The Curse?

I need a drink.

That's why we should vote for him so we can find out!

Holy crap, went on a bike ride this morning for a little over an hour, then mowed the yard and come inside to find out we actually signed Saturday.

I thought we just wanted to look busy.

I would never snitch on NFL-gaf

Despite the amount of banana riders that hopped on this saints massacre. I'd be interested to go back and see how many of you haters were cheering against pey-pey in the superbowl.
