Can you upload to itunes? Yay! Maybe one day we can have rountable discussion about classes
Yes, I don't think that will be a problem.

I simply disagree with their philosophy of hiding their unfinished game under an NDA. I like Blizzard's philosophy of putting an unfinished and buggy game out there just because they are Blizzard and everyone knows it will be polished to a mirror shine by the time its done. The MoP beta is extremely unfinished and buggy, but it's generating a huge amount of hype within the community because anyone can stream it, write about it, make videos on it, whatever.
gw2 is surely not suffering from a lack of hype.
Wow. ANet pulling an EA. That's some garbage.

There won't even be an NDA on the remaining beta weekends, I'm sure we'll make it through this one just fine.

Valnen said:Pretty much this. It says to me that they're ashamed of their game if they're not willing to let people talk about it.
Which is a large part of the problem with discussing the game around these parts.
It gets a pass for any of the shittier news (i.e. cash shop related) to come of the leaks because it was to be the chosen one that would bring the genre out of the slump it has been in for the last 7 or 8 years. So much so that people spend pages in self-justification of said features, services or prices.
Could be that in this beta they are introducing new elements or stuff that ins't in a good polished state and don't want people to overblown something out of proportion, its a closed invite beta for something.

If only Anet had the benefit of the doubt from a large section of the MMORPG and game consumer community based on brand identity and years of unprecedented mainstream success. If only.

NDA's for betas honestly should not exist anymore if they invite people from outside the company to participate.

Finished Ghosts of Ascalon. Kinda ended suddenly, but it was still pretty good. It took a while to get going because it had to explain fantasy multiple races, the history of GW1, the brief history between games... it's a lot to get out so it came off as a little exposition-y, but it was still pretty good.
I might pick up EoD just to say I read it. If it's the same size as GoA, I'll blow through it in a couple hours.
Yeah I was breezing by Ghosts when I read it in my weird state of sickness last night.
Has this been covered yet? The 'ole microtransactions are real it seems:

Pay to win? Fuck that shit.
I'm sure people will dominate PvP with all of those dyes they bought.

Weow some people so salty over this.
For starters I think being able to trade gems for gold is lame. Might as well encourage people to buy from Chinese farmers while they're at it.
Also I understand the need the cash shop to generate more revenue (as it's F2P). However, the shop is only going to grow, and I'd rather them focus resources on actual content.
As opposed to a stupid cash cow scheme.
Might as well be free to play. xDHas this been covered yet? The 'ole microtransactions are real it seems:

Isn't this just blatantly ignoring the NDA?
Might as well be free to play. xD
I pick free to play. Which this isn't is, where you have to pay for the core game as well. I'd rather have a subscription based game than this shit as well. It's either this or a subscription. Pick one.
I'm sure the exp boost and increased drop rate will help just fine in pvp.I'm sure people will dominate PvP with all of those dyes they bought.

Guy seems to forget there isnt a monthly fee and arenanet needs to keep the servers up somehow.
Won't it help rich guilds to race to 80 in the first day or two, then jump in the WvWvW to cap keeps and castles ?I'm sure the exp boost and increased drop rate will help just fine in pvp.
Yup, that's exactly my point.Won't it help rich guilds to race to 80 in the first day or two, then jump in the WvWvW to cap keeps and castles ?

I agree with virtually everything you said there, just want to point out that cash shop transactions don't go to keeping servers up. Bandwidth is actually incredibly cheap now-a-days and only $4,052,862 goes to the upkeep of EVERY NCSoft title in a financial quarter, whereas the rest of their expenses total to about $109,000,000 a quarter.
So where does the cash shop money go? To the future development of free updates. And I'm not talking about paid DLC content, but all the free bug fixes, balance changes, and features that you'll get for free over the course of the game's life. That's where your money goes.
/end tangent

No, I'm saying a cash shop of this magnitude is befitting of a F2P title. Not a boxed title. I'll happily pay a subscription fee, if it means equality. Which I have done since I've pretty much done since I started playing MMO's.I find it funny you find the GW2 cash shop so horrible, but then go and say you wan't the game to be F2P.
The exp boosts won't help at all since everyone is scaled to 80 for PvP.
I guess.Not in WvWvW.
Not in WvWvW.
Any character below level 80 will be adjusted so they are roughly equivalent in power to what they would be at level 80.
We've known there would be a cash shop since forever, this is nothing new. The leak is just that, a leak which is not final but 90% of the stuff in there clearly isn't worthy of freaking out over.
So you think it's a bad idea, to point out to Arenet how shitty this idea is?Exactly what I meant by the first statement friend. Difficult to criticize the game for anything without being thrown under the bus with the frothing masses at Guru, etc.
The cash shop could be worse, much worse. That doesn't mean I'm pleased with the state of the blemish on an otherwise great looking game.

Nah it's flaw in a game, I've been generally impressed about. It's still shitty though. Then this game isn't for you. That isn't a big deal.
Yeah, they are. Otherwise it'd be no fun for some level 10 to jump into WvW playing against level 80s.
Weow some people are so salty over this.

What's up with having to pay for a bag slot and then pay for a bag? That seems pretty shitty. Is that how the first game was? I have been pretty interested in this game due to no subscription fees but that bag thing rubs me the wrong way.
