Graphics and gameplay are inseperable.
Many games rely heavily on immersion (Bioshock, The Last of Us, Resident Evil, Doom, Mass Effect, Killzone, Assassins Creed, Battlefield, Red Dead, Elder Scrolls, God of War, Grand Theft Auto, Alan Wake, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.), which is broken everytime we see a crappy low res texture that looks like it was made in MS paint, or take part in what is supposed to be an epic battle that involves 12 NPC's, or are supposed to be frightened by a shadow that look likes a staircase, or can't tell what something is supposed to be by looking at it.
Graphics will continue to get better, and games will continue to get better as a result.
I bet the tri ace demo was worked on for more than 2 weeks.

I doubt most will even give second thought to the sepcs of the system when they see some first party games.
If it was 2-5x stronger as some Nintendo fans thought you could make better looking demo in a week.

I don't think next-gen specs are needed, but they need higher than 360/PS3.

Of course, if you know so much more than me, you can explain to me how "it has more shaders" makes any sense whatsoever, because you're clearly so knowledgeable that you would defend them so adamantly. I mean, if you are so confident about your position, you should then certainly be in a position of great understanding.

I would say that, at worst, it looks just as good. And GoW3 is a real playable game, not a tech demo.

Casuals and hardcore gamers alike play these games. If you are denying that you are ignorant to the current climate of gaming.
There are millions of gamers who play CoD/Gears/Halo, that don't have the slightest clue what is going on narritivley, or dont play more than 2-3 hours a week, but still buy the games every time they release.
I am not saying they are any less of a gamer. And what is wrong with family and party games? I play them with my family. I also spend 100s of hours playing and investing in the lore of RPGs and shooters. What of it?
"It looks good" doesn't cut it... if it doesn't somehow raise the bar in a technical way I don't care about it!

I don't dissect the technicalities of it.
I look at the video and it looks great.
Breaking down every aspect of every detail seems counterproductive to me and isn't why I play games.

I have played it, on my 55' 3DTV, and it beats that demo in most cases, and at worst looks on par.
Considering one is a playable game with gigantic scale, large number of enemies and AI, on 6 year old hardware. And the other is a controlled tech demo of a small room, no AI, on unreleased future hardware, I would say that puts things into perspective.

Oh ok, i thought it was impressive and so did all the websites writing about it. But i guess it didnt meet the pixels and polygons quota. I dont understand why pixel fanatics look at consoles anyway, get a good pc and drool away. Then buy a nintendo for gameplay innovations.

Still, scripted art design and animation goes a long way, which is what Zelda has to offer.
Well, they kind of are. Apart from the overworld, which is just one part of the game.
Watching a youtube video is just like playing the game on a sexy Panasonic plasma, or maybe even better.
