I was influenced by my uncles and cousins in the U.S. Most of my mom's family is based in NYC and my dad had a brother that lived near Pittsburgh. I visited both areas every year for the better part of my childhood and teen years. I spent 1 month every summer in NYC during high school summer break and a couple weeks with my uncle In Pittsburgh. My dad is a cricket, soccer, boxing fan and the only sport we share in common is boxing and MMA.

Born in the Bay Area, grew up in Houston, went to the University of Texas.

Thus: Astros, 49ers, Giants, and, most importantly, the Longhorns.

Born in NY, but raised in CT. I became a Bulls fan because of Michael Jordan. I've stuck with them through the rough times when everyone I knew abandoned them. The Giants were always my team in the NFL. Growing up in CT, you always here about Yankees and Red Sox, but whenever I would visit my family in NY, my uncle would take me to Mets games.

Toronto Raptors - I love in Toronto and lived playing the sport as a child, so I grew to love them. Now, not so much.

German national football team - Born in Germany (but later moved to Canada at the age if 8). I never liked soccer until the 2006 WC when I watched whenever I could. Now I watch whenever its on.

Bayern Munchen (football team) - I decided to start watching club soccer this year and decided to auport then, because of the success and players they had. I love me some Frank Ribery and Schweiniiiiiiiiiii <3

Toronto FC - Local professional soccer team. I didn't start supporting them until thiabyear because MLS was beyond bad when Toronto first got their team. The league has imrpoved ten told, but still behind most leagues. But its entertainment nontheless and its a local team.

My dad's side of the family is from Eastern Kentucky, my mom went to UK, and I was born in Kentucky --> Kentucky Wildcats.

Always went to school in Cincinnati and my family moved to cincinnati when I was in 8th grade --> Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals.

Had no interest in the NBA when I was a kid, and then Rick Pitino left UK and went to the Boston Celtics, a handful of UK players have gone to the Celtics over the last decade or so, and Rondo is from Kentucky. I've lived in Boston for the last 5 years --> Boston Celtics.

Played hockey when I was a kid, and Federov was the guy I tried to model my game after (very unsuccessfully) so I watched a TON of Red Wings games --> Detroit Redwings.

Grew up in NY but didn't care about sports for most of my life. My friends made me start playing fantasy football a couple of years ago, and decided to cheer for the Giants.

Influenced by friends when I moved here to Toronto and became a Leafs fan. Same with the Blue Jays.

As a kid, I was actually somewhat a fan of the Mighty Ducks after seeing the movie, but I didn't really follow them considering I couldn't really watch their games at my time zone (Ducks games would be on early-ish in the morning on ESPN).

The same way people fall into political parties. I was born into it!

No really, I was born in Pittsburgh, the majority of my Familiy is there / from there, and we're all neck deep in Steeler Nation!

LA guy.

Lakers (though, I was a Shaq guy so not a huge fan of Kobe :/)
Dodgers
Kings
Bandwagoned the Galaxy when Beckham joined but MLS is still blah.

Born & raised in Northern VA, where you're always a fan of some NFC East team. Either you're a Skins fan because you're from around here, you're an Eagles fan because you're not from around here, or you're a Cowboys fan because you're from around here and want to piss off Skins fans.

It sucks to be a Skins fan :(

Consider Denver my hometown, it was where I lived when I got interested in sports.

I've decided my EPL team is Arsenal.

Sac Kings, SF Giants, SF 49ers, SJ Sharks due to region and dad being into those teams.

Michigan Wolverines due to a good friend going there for football and I stuck with the team (I also dont really like any of the norcal college teams)

Yankees and Knicks, just picked up on them when I was little since they're the local teams (live in CT). I don't like to call myself a (football) Giants fan, because I don't follow football as closely as I follow Baseball and basketball, but if I had to pick a football team it would be them. Friends are mostly Giants fans so I watch them a lot, especially during their playoff runs this year and in 2007.

Also, obligatory UConn basketball fan.

Born in Philly and love all of the teams. Also went to Penn State and love the Lions.

Just moved to Charleston, SC and it boggles my mind how everybody is into high school sports as well as Clemson and the Gamecocks. 90% of the people down here did not go to either school, but they love these teams. How do you love a college team unless you went to school there?

I don't really care about sports anymore, but I was a die hard Kentucky Wildcats fan until the last couple of years. My dad was born in Frankfort and went to school at UK, so naturally I grew up watching Kentucky basketball. Coach Cal's one-and-done bullshit has really soured me on the entire program. I probably won't be a fan again until he leaves, so never basically.

Watching TV when I was small and caught a moment of a hockey game. The moment right when a goal happened and they sounded the siren. It was the coolest thing in the world for me. I was in Miami and started playing hockey and that year the Panther made it to the Cup finals. From there played lots of hockey growing up and was and forever a Panthers fan.

Lived in Germany, Munich! GO BAYERN
Moved to Phx, AZ: Go SUNS, D'Backs and Cardinals!
Coyotes ? lol

You know.... I thought I liked you....

Let's put it this way, I think I've seen 1 Red Wings game since I was 12. But I was trying to cover all major sports so I had to delve back into my youth for that one. No way in hell I'm rooting for the Bruins. It's not that I have anything against them, but if I were to just start rooting for them now I would be the definition of a bandwagon fan, and I HATE bandwagon fans.

So am I a Red Wings FAN? Probably not. Am I a "fan"...I guess so, in the sense that I have no interest an any other team.

From LA area so I'm a fan of Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, and Raiders. Seen Ronaldo playing in 2004/2005 and became a fan of Manchester United.

Grew up in NY so naturally I grew to root for NY teams almost equally, though I favor the NYG over NYJ and NYM over NYY. As a kid though I obsessed over the Chicago Bulls because of Jordan and crew.

Became a Sporting fan due to growing up watching the games when they were on with my dad. Became a ManU fan when they grabbed one of our rising players back almost 10 years ago. Some of you might know him as Cristiano Ronaldo

I am always a fan of my local teams. I never support other cities teams, or root for them. My family is big into sports so I was raised going to hometown team games.

Teams:

Georgia Bulldogs (College football)
Atlanta Braves (MLB)
Atlanta Falcons (NFL)
Cleveland Browns (NFL)

Being a Georgia fan was a part of my upbringing with being a 3rd generation fan.. Braves fan happened due to growing up in Georgia during the period when every game was on TBS. Also, started watching baseball at a great time for the Braves when they were in their hayday in the early 90's and through the 00's.

With NFL, I'm not nearly as into it as I am college football. In football, I prefer the "amateurism" that exists within CFB. But I like the Falcons for reasons of where I grew up, and the Browns because I've lived in Ohio for 10 years.

Born and live in Liverpool = Support Liverpool.

The way it should be, support your local team people.

Born and raised in middle Georgia, and my dad is from Alabama thus fan of the University of Alabama and all of the Atlanta pro teams.

Always wanted Tennessee to have a Pro Football team and once the Oilers packed up and moved here I hopped on the bandwagon.

Buffalo Bills - Lived just outside of Buffalo until I was 12ish.

NBA - Wasn't a basketball fan until I played in middle school and due to my size (unfortunately was 6'1 in 8th grade and only grew another inch or two) and weight people joked around calling me shaq.

Just followed him from the Magic (fuck them for refusing to pay him more than penny) to LA (Fuck them for letting Kobe basically throw the 04 finals and bitch Shaq outta town) to MIA etc. Even went to a few Celtics games last year to catch him on the way out.

So despite NBA being by far my favorite sport to watch, I don't have any favorite team just guys I love to watch/want to see do well.

Obviously liked watching LeBron but wasn't a fan of CLE, after the insanely oversized media/fan backlash I've started to hope the Heat due well even though I don't even really like any of their players. Just want trolls to cry themselves to sleep/melt down.

Always been a HUGE fan of big men/forwards who could pass like Shaq/Yao/Brad Miller/Sabonis/Divac/Gasol bros/Odom/LeBron/Diaw.

Red Wings and Tigers. Hockey is by far my favorite.

Born and raised in Michigan. If I followed any other sports teams my friends and family would murder me.

Pavel Bure was a fast skating rookie in an electronic arts NHL game for the Vancouver Canucks. I think it was 92? 93? Anyway I kept picking the team and liked the staff. I also had a friend who worked for Gravis which was based out of Burnaby, and he would send me swag.

The St Louis Rams have been my brother's favorite team since he was 4, he's now 42. So I adopted them in 95 or so.

Grew up playing hockey in the Metro-Detroit area when the Wings were making their big comeback. You basically couldn't be a kid playing hockey in that time in that area and not be a Wings fan. I'm also a huge fan of Spartan football but that's because I go to MSU.

born wearing a Niners jersey and a SF Giants cap, rocking some SJ Sharks sweat bands..
