Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

Jealous of the newcomers that will get the play the tutorial on a fresh, completely new playthrough. Really liked the atmosphere of that little section. Looking like a great port of the game, how awesome. I'm going to replay in prep for the new content :D

Started playing Witcher 1 for the first time - Chapter 1 was such a tedious, boring slog that I almost stopped playing for good. Chapter 2 is definitely better and more interesting so I'm glad I stuck with it, but I'm still not loving it. There are aspects that I find really unique and appealing, but the whole package feels unrefined and clunky in many ways, with questionable design decisions marring the experience.

I've coveted the Witcher games for a while now, and only recently purchased a new PC capable of running them. I really hope that Witcher 2 is substantially better than 1 based on my experience so far. It's not that I'm not enjoying it, but it does fall short of my expectations.

They basically said that it's better then Witcher 2 pre-patched. They also said that the new content isn't worth paying full price for the 360 version if you have already played the PC version.
Isn't the enhanced edition stuff free for PC? So why would a PC player even want the 360 version?

Witcher 2 is MUCH better in my opinion.

The politics is also more complex near the end.

Is a fix for the shadow dithering part of the EE package? That was like the only blemish I could find with the graphics this game was pumping out on my monitor.

Witcher 1 has a certain charm about it that I really love and appreciate. Vizima was such a great location...

It does, and Vizima was. The Witcher 1 really does deal in a myriad of issues--both technical and design-wise, but the strength of the characters, grey-zone, delayed consequence system, and thick atmosphere really made it for me. Hearing that TW2 cleared up the jank, but kept its eye the larger strengths has me hyped as hell.

It definitely does, and it's [Witcher 2] among the most beautiful games visually; for me, there's something about the first game that puts it slightly above TW2. I think the evolution of the series was necessary though, and I hope the next game can bring back that coherency and consistency of all the elements.

Vizima is so good, I fucked up my investigation there, and had to pay the consequences later.

I think OXM gave it an 8.5 recently.
They did. Very positive overall. Though their main complaints were a little weird to me.

"Information overload; saving is sometimes disabled; infrequent new gear"

What do those first two mean? Seems like the brand new tutorial would help with the information overload. Unless they're talking about lore or something.

They also didn't like that you can only have 12 save slots. Seems like enough to me :lol

Well, the plot gets pretty thick in chapter 3, plenty of politics.

Isn't it like 3/4 usual RRP of 360 games and comes with the bonus stuff as well?

Good to here it got a look in from the bigger media outlets

There is actually a ton of gear. Unique beautifully rendered gear but I remember there was a pair of pants and gloves I got early on that i didn't replace until the final chapter. I found plenty of other pants and gloves along the way but nothing better until near the end. The problem was less an issue of variety and more an issue of progression.

Played for about 10 hours so far - under embargo, so can't say anything save that this is a respectable adaptation to the 360.

I can understand the information overload complaint. Your codex fills up very quickly with a lot of lore heavy content. A lot of it is dense with politics and relationships. The experience would be made even more confusing if you haven't played the first game.

I liked it, but yeah, there's a lot to take in.

April...um...good question :lol. We've got our review code.

Game looks fantastic, between this and Max Payne 3, this is gonna be a great Spring for gaming. Have my Dark Edition paid in full.

Our embargo lifts April 14th.

Witcher 1 starts out verrrrrrrry slow, but it all builds really, really well. Witcher 2 is the farrrr better game, but W1 has its shining moments too. Better music in W1, as well. Only because stylistically, it's pretty different from the bit more generic-y TW2 music.
