Me not watching the GP has nothing to do with this. It's all about the safety of the spectators and competitors of the sport. If protesters are burning down signs this week, it shows there is a significant chance some will disrupt and jeopardise this weekend. The risk is too high.
F1 is their stage for mounting a protest. And that is why an international SPORT should not go.
Of course it does. By watching the GP you're actively supporting Ecclestone and his business, pouring more money in his wallet.
But I fail to see the relevancy of a business case of hosting it, to me following a sport I enjoy, to the safety of the people involved. They are mutually exclusive in the terms of this discussion. And for me, the number one thing is the safety of the teams, drivers, circuit staff and the supporters for hosting an event.
I will watch the race because I love F1, but it doesn't mean I support everything it does, with this being one of them. If the race goes ahead, I will be vocal in my displeasure of the sport's decision. One good thing about today's social networking sites.
Pretty good race. Very disappointed for Michael, and he handed it great, as usual.
He needs to start bashing heads in. His Zen-like calm about everything is getting on my nerves. He's 1/3 for finishing races this year. It's time for mild annoyance at the very least.

You're right, it does make sense. I'm a bit tired and I failed to see your point earlier. Sorry about that.
I don't safety is an issue in Bahrain. I know some friends over there and its business as usual
Sure some pics look scary, but all it takes is a couple of stupid people to throw a petrol bomb on something and take a picture
Let's not act like we know what's going on over there. We don't
Its only a matter of days and we'll know the truth about Bahrain. Thousands of reporters and team personnel will be there.

Mercedes need to make the most of their DRS advantage before the others copy them
Sky should be really worried about those figures. Thier 6th highest viewed programme only had 9000 viewers last week?

I really cannot see a dedicated F1 channel lasting beyond this season.
Copying may not be so easy. To find space to route pipes from the rear wing to the front wing is going to be very difficult if there's no space. The cars are build pretty tight, so may not be possible.
I feel the same way. I was really hoping he could hold on for 3rd in Canada last year.I quite like Schumi now, never thought I'd do.
Schumi has nothing to prove
He looked very proud when Rosberg won. He could be there to lift up the team as he knows it would be difficult for him to compete with Rosberg, and it looks like he's enjoying it
So for the same reason, it makes no sense for him to bash the team, instead use this opportunity to lift their spirits even higher
I quite like Schumi now, never thought I'd do.
EDIT: I also wouldn't be surprised if he voluntarily choose to play a second fiddle to Rosberg to raise his chances of a WDC
Hey, don't sweat it - I should have made my initial point clearer!
True, I am only going by media reports. But at the same time, the fact there are a sizeable number of people questioning the decision makes me nervous for everyone involved - it's clearly not all rosy. All it takes is one person to cause a disaster, and with tensions as it is, that person is more likely to believe in doing it.
Yeah I said the same thing to my friend yesterday. I never liked him back in the Ferrari days. He was super arrogant. But I really like him now. Yesterday was the proof that his first years after the comeback brought back his ego down and he really sound like a cool guy now. I like that.
I guess I could even say the same thing about Ferrari. They were so incredibly annoying and arrogant back in the Todt days but now with Dominicali they are communicating a lot more with the public and the press and are overall a lot more open.
They have The F1 show (new one each week) & F1 Legends(I think there is only 6 of these in total), the season reviews & the races/qualifying.Are they showing more than the F1 weekend and reruns of that F1 legends documentary?

They just repeat these over and over through the week

Without Massa, would Rob lose his job or would they assign him to Checo?

Brilliant race, but I'm confused as to why DRS wasn't working as 'well' as it normally does. The long straights should have perfect for it, but it didn't really work out. Was it just the conditions hampering it?
Sky should count the viewers of the unlicensed online streams. Maybe that will help to boost the figures a bit. :lol
It hasn't been edited out, just checked. To be fair, if that's the case, the BBC should count, well, Lao. And all the Laos out there in the world.
Edit: Speaking of which, has Lao's little comment been edited out of the forum that's on the website?
I think he's seeing things a bit different, now that he saw Britney win in the same car he's driving. Before that I was sure he was just there for the fun and because he can't without F1.

I thought they reduced the length of the DRS zone wouldn't that reduction in distance limit the maximum speed the DRS could add while making a KERS defence more effective?
infact yup they did reduce the the zone by 50m http://totalf1.com/full_story/view/412724/FIA_opts_for_shorter_DRS_zone_in_China/
"It was a real shame for Michael - he had earned his place on the podium," Haug said. "But it will come, and now everybody who at some point criticised the decision can see how important, and how right, it is to have Michael Schumacher in our team.
"Michael has out-qualified Nico at two of three races this year, and Nico won yesterday. What's more, there's a nice trend to his grid positions so far in 2012: fourth in Australia, third in Malaysia, second in China."
He's not opposed to helping a team mate in a race as evidenced by the 1999 season. If the team's needs surpass his needs, he's the best number two driver you can have as Eddie once said. The American commentators speculated that he was holding everyone back in the beggining to give Rosberg room, which is very un-Michael.
But I do agree that he seems more vested into the team as a whole and does not see himself as #1 driver like he used to at Ferrari. He is realistic that he may well not be #1, particularly now that Rosberg is ahead in points and has been faster so far.
That's stupid of them. By the time cars reach the DRS zone they are almost on max speed and DRS wouldn't contribute to the acceleration
stupid stupid..
Kimi would've won the race![]()
I'm finding the Schumacher / Alonso bias quite boring now tbh.

And those complaining about Michael's laid back attitude in interviews, have you ever seen the Silver Baron publicly complain about his team's performance or other issues at any period in his career? He's too intelligent to do that. He deals with these matters in private away from the media leeches and always supports the team in public no matter how poorly they're doing. That's one of his defining attributes.

Yup I posted during the race that it starts far too late, needed to start the zone sooner. Before the cars got up to 7th
I like how everyone has accepted how shit Massa is now. No mention of him being the only driver with the same number of points as the bottom 3 teams.
